  1. I really like Preston Smith too. I haven't watched a ton of college football this year, but I did watch Alabama vs. Mississippi State and it didn't take long for me to hit up Google and figure out who #91 for MSU was.
  2. And trading down to acquire extra picks always leads to picking up multiple additional all pros, right? I agree with JB. If Cooper and the elite OT prospects are gone, then I'd be okay with trading down in the 1st. However, I think when it's all said and done we may be looking at a top 5 pick.
  3. No thanks on trading our #1. We need players at CB, DE, and OT. Getting elite prospects at all of those positions is tough and the best way to do it is with 1st round picks.
  4. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 7: Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa (A) Round 2 Pick 7: Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska (B+) Round 3 Pick 12 (CHI): Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn (A) Round 4 Pick 7: Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi State (B-) Round 4 Pick 12 (CHI): Cam Thomas, CB, Western Kentucky (A) Round 5 Pick 7: James Vaughters, OLB, Stanford (B+) Round 6 Pick 7: Christian Lombard, OG, Notre Dame ( Round 7 Pick 7: Damian Swann, CB, Georgia (A-)
  5. This concept is beyond idiotic. This incident is going to cost him untold millions on his next contract. Guilty or not, there's a public stigma around him and any team that signs him knows they're going to be taking a PR hit. If he ends up being found guilty, it's going to cost him big time. Even if he's not found guilty he's going to end up signing for less than he would've gotten prior to this ordeal.
  6. Ah, gotcha. Didn't pay attention that you said "threads" not "posts".
  7. He's just terrible. The staff has given him every opportunity working him on special teams as giving him the bulk of the carries tonight. He has shown exactly nothing. I was hopeful for him, but it's clear as day at this point that he's not going to be a contributor.
  8. Relax folks, we aren't going into the regular season with the current OL roster. Veteran depth will be added after other teams start trimming down their rosters.
  9. That Oregon spread crested a lot bigger lanes than what you see in the NFL. Maybe he just needs time to adjust. We'll see.
  10. For the smaller cat backs, vision is absolutely vital. Some guys have it and some don't. It's not one of those things that you usually see players improve on. So far, it just doesn't look like Barner has it.
  11. Love hearing that Chandler is looking good so far. Does anyone know if Tolbert dropped those pounds per the request of the team or if he chose to do it on his own? I just wonder if there were plans to get him more carries even before Stewart go banged up and Gaffney went down?
  12. Yep, and that guy always seems to be a pass catcher. From David Gettis to Gary Barnidge to Armanti Edwards to now Brandon Williams. Hopefully B. Williams can finally be the guy who actually DOES break out.
  13. Gettleman has done a pretty doggone good job of finding cheap plug and play vets at positions of need. I have to think that if the OTs don't look ready to go that veteran help will be signed when teams start trimming down rosters.
  14. He seems to be a guy the staff really likes and it seems like they're doing everything they can to give him as much opportunity as possible to earn a spot. Sounds like they're doing a lot to work him in at TE as well as utilizing him in the backfield and working him on STs. If you're not a starter, then you greatly improve your chances of sticking if you're versatile.
  15. He's not underperforming. He is what he is. He's not very good. It's just a damn shame that we've been relying on him to be something that he's not. I still don't believe that we're going into the season with this current crop of OTs. I really believe that there will be veteran help added at some point after teams start trimming their rosters down.
  16. I'm not giving G-man a pass on him. He was considered a huge reach in the 4th by virtually everyone. He's a small school guy with awful combine numbers. Hopefully he gets healthy and proves me wrong, but I sincerely doubt he's an NFL player.
  17. Sorry man, offensive lineman or not, dude looks straight up sloppy fat.
  18. Kugzilla definitely looks fat as fug. What exactly is going on with his knee? I thought he went to IR due to hamstring issues?
  19. If nothing else, I like Chandler at LT solely for not being Byron Bell.
  20. I'm so confused right now. After one day of rookie camp where Zod said he looked good at DE, you're ready to write him off as a bust like Brown? He doesn't have the size at DE? The dude is 6'4", 275.
  21. I wasn't talking about the Hardy situation. I was generally addressing all the white knights that continue to perpetuate this idiotic idea that there is no situation where it is acceptable to put hands on a woman.
  22. What are you talking about? I calculate that if someone is coming at you with a knife and you can't get away and you're unwilling to physically defend yourself, you're gonna get fuged up.
  23. I really, really wish all the white knights would give up on this broken logic. It's fair to say that it is only acceptable in rare, extreme cases, but it's not hard to imagine a situation where I would find it very acceptable to lay hands on a woman. Crazy chick coming at me with a knife screaming she's gonna kill me? Yep, she's getting knocked the fug out and I'm not gonna feel one bit of remorse about it.
