His college highlight reel would rival anyone's. His college lowlight reel would also rival anyone's. LOL

I lived in Colorado at the time and virtually all the Wyoming games were locally televised. I'd bet money that I watched more Josh Allen college games than anyone else on this board.

Post- Training Camp 53-Man Roster Projection
LinvilleGorge replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
AT is still a solid possession receiver. He just shouldn't be a starter at this point in his career. The fact that we had to have him as our #1 option wasn't an indictment of him, it was an indictment of our front office and overall receiver room. CRA just jumping the gun and already getting mad about Thielen eating into Renfrow's snap count. LOL -
Yeah, trades this time of the year are largely about trading guys at the bottom of your roster in units of depth for late round picks or players in a similar situation on another roster. Basically just skipping the waiver wire and insuring you're securing one of the better guys about to hit the trash heap.
-
To be fair, some of those 30 yard passes were to receivers only 10 yards down field. LOL
-
Now do Josh Allen. Just saying. They were similar prospects except that Allen was even more wildly inaccurate.

Love seeing good people that deserve it get their bag. I realize that $10M for an NFL player is nothing but for a kid that came from a no nothing town, went to a no nothing school, and was a no nothing UDFA it's a massive accomplishment. Good for him.

And your young QB has a laundry list of major injuries during college football. Oh wee mayne...

The Panthers have an effort problem

You don't have to be a screamer or a cheerleader to be a leader. You just have to be respected by your peers. If you're screaming and rah rah'ing around while playing like ass you're just gonna be seen as a joke. Like why don't you just STFU and get yourself straight and stop worrying about anybody else. -

It's pretty much impossible for me to imagine Bryce as a big getting in your face guy or being a rah rah cheerleader type. That's just not who he is and I don't really care. Just play well. Everything else will take care of itself if he just plays well. -
LOLOLOLOL For the record, Arch has since come out and said that he hasn't at all decided on what he'll do in regards to the 2026 draft and that his grandfather Arch has called to apologize for miscommunication to the press regarding the matter.

Calm down now, gramps. Johnny U is still great. LOL

I don't think anyone puts anyone else in the league on Mahomes' level. I think he's clearly in that second tier though along with Lamar and Burrow. Then I think it's another step down to tier three after those guys.
-
wut? I'm not sure he should've won the MVP last year but I don't think you'll find anyone that tries to argue that he's not currently a top 5 NFL QB. Seems to me that Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lamar, and Allen are clearly the top 5 guys with Mahomes clearly being #1 and then the arguing can start from there. LOL

Agreed. Minnesota was a very good situation for him. Going into a significantly lesser offensive situation won't be a surprise to see the same old Darnold return.
-
The whole "draft a QB savant with no NFL measurables" argument is also on the rocks at the moment. You need a little bit of this, little bit of that to make it work. Meanwhile, last year's MVP was a "draft an athlete and teach him how to be a QB" guy.

We knew his size when we drafted him. -

I think he was drafted primarily as a return man and then we were going to look to develop him as a WR but he didn't impress as a returner and probably just isn't far enough along as a WR to make it. We'll hope to stash him on the PS and if someone picks him up, oh well. That's just the way it goes with 6th rounders sometimes. -
Jones isn't close to the naturally talented passer that Darnold is. Darnold throws as good of a ball as anybody. He just has that panic gene in him.

Yep, pretty much.

Exactly. This preseason gives me concerns simply because we've been so trash for so long and year after year we try to convince ourselves that preseason doesn't matter and we're going to magically look better as soon as the regular season gets here. It hasn't worked out for us like that. I sure hope it does this year but I'm done having any positive expectations out of this organization. I'm going into the season hoping for the best but fully expecting trash. That way there's no disappointment. If we're trash it's like "yep, business as usual again". If we actually do magically flip the switch this year it's like "fuging SWEET, this is awesome!"
