  1. I agree. I would've taken that deal and never looked back. If the deal is on the table for the Eagles I'd be all over it if I was Kelly. The Browns sure do love pissing away 1st round picks on QBs.
  2. The 49ers may be having the worst NFL offseason I can ever remember. Lose a very good coach and replace him with who? Core players retiring left and right. Lost a few priority free agents. They're a dumpster fire right now.
  3. Yet we took a WR in the 1st round last year. When you have a chance to add a difference maker at a position of need, you do it. Plus, this thread can be used for CB prospects throughout the draft, not just the first few rounds.
  4. You get in trouble when you start reaching for need. I wouldn't want to pass on a difference maker on defense to draft JAG (just a guy) on offense at a position of bigger need. Given similar prospect rankings, I absolutely agree with hedging toward need. But in the case where you feel like the far and away best player is a DE/S/CB/LB... take him.
  5. I have no idea who these people are. People actually listen to sports radio?
  6. I just don't think he's rangy enough to move over to OLB. Beason had much better range in college than Perryman did and he looked like a shadow of his former self when trying to play OLB. Luke didn't look like Luke when he was playing OLB very early on in his NFL career either. It's just a different skillset. Perryman looks like a guy who would be best suited playing ILB in a 3-4 IMO. In the right 4-3 scheme he would probably work too, but he couldn't do what Morgan and Beason did and Luke does for us.
  7. Go for it. I strongly disagree. Thomas minus Chancellor and he's still an elite FS. Chancellor minus Thomas and I think he's getting exposed downfield.
  8. I'd rather have an Earl Thomas type. A true sideline to sideline centerfielder type of safety. Chancellor is a great player, no doubt about it, but having Thomas back there covering deep opens them up to let Chancellor roam.
  9. That idea of bringing Hardy back on a one year prove it deal is starting to look more and more enticing. I know JR doesn't want it, but this might be one of those times when Gettleman needs to go and talk to him and say, "You hired me to run this team. Let me run this team." Now, with that said, JR could easily come back and say, "Alright, your call. But I'll tell you this, if he embarrasses this organization again, he's gone and you're gone with him. Deal?" Would you risk your job betting on Hardy not being an idiot? I sure as hell wouldn't if it came down to that.
  10. This. He's just a guy. If he didn't go to Wofford we would've never given him a shot nor would anyone else in the NFL.
  11. Possibly. I think it's more about allowing the others to set the market, but I wouldn't be shocked if surrounding talent didn't at least play a role.
  12. Yep. He was crucified when he said that Richardson was "ordinary". Hr didn't bash the kid, he just told what he thought was the truth, that the guy wasn't special. He was right.
  13. He was running behind an NFL OL vs. college defenses. It's why Bama RBs scare me. That OL is always dominant.
  14. Yeah, that's really odd. The NFL makes the rules at the combine. At a pro day you can tailor the throws to fit your strengths plus you're throwing to your WRs, not complete strangers.
  15. Not sure why they'd be laughing. See above. They drafted Manziel with that pick. It'd be kind of like the Pats laughing at us for trading the future #33 overall pick to them for one Armanti Edwards. It's funny until you remember that they took Ras-I Dowling with that pick, a guy who was a huge bust and only appeared in 12 NFL games. Hell, if anything, we actually won that trade as sad as that may be.
  16. It'd make a lot of sense for the Eagles. Wouldn't make a lick of sense for the Saints.
  17. THIS! I think they really fuged up completely handing him the reins. He needs to be protected from himself by a real GM.
  18. Not only can he, but I think DGB will be there at #25 and we will pass on him. I wouldn't want him in the 1st or 2nd round to be honest. Just too many concerns. He won't be there in the 3rd, but that's where I would start to get intrigued about potentially rolling the dice. The reality is that with the domestic violence concern there, JR likely wouldn't sign off on drafting the guy at all.
  19. Given who was available in FA and our budget, I think we did about the best we could "filling" that need via FA. I'd still be giving Jake Long's agent a call to see if he's healthy and wants to give it another go.
  20. If there's one thing following the NFL should've taught all of us, it's that you can't believe anything that comes out of the mouth of a GM or coach, especially this time of year. What's he supposed to say? "Yeah, we know this guy sucks ass, but we signed him anyway because we're desperate." IMO, they think Oher CAN be the answer at LT and that's why they signed him. Notice the word choice: "CAN". Big difference between can and "IS". If the right guy is there at #25 or in the 2nd round or in the 3rd round, I have no doubt we'll pull the trigger.
  21. I hope so. I was fully onboard with the signing. Worst case scenario, I still think he's better than Bell and simply "better than Bell" wasn't the type of improvement I was hoping for, but it is improvement.
  22. For those that are nervous about Oher, just take a look into your memory banks and remember that we survived an entire year with Byron Bell as our LT, or should I say Cam survived
  23. Strong foreshadowing. Yep, unfortunately Jaelen Strong to SD at #17.
