They were only jumping up 7 spots. We would've been jumping up 24. The Titans actually came out ahead on this trade on the draft pick value chart by upwards of 20 points. To have offered similar value, we would've had to have offered our 2nd, 3rd, and 6th. Grab a beer, grab some grub and get settled for the wait. Around pick #50 or so is when you can start to look for us to potentially make a move. That's around where our 2nd and 4th could get us.

Took forever for a trade to happen in the 1st round and here we start the 2nd round with a trade right off the bat. Giants on the clock.

We need a #2 WR, a developmental OT, and a developmental RB. #2 WR is the glaring hole IMO.

My fear too. I think TD may have just announced his replacement. I know there was talk about TD and the Panthers working on an extension a couple of weeks ago but then we heard nothing more. Might not be anymore to talk about after this pick.

It's a ton to put on a rookie if that's what we choose to do. I hope he's up for it. One position or the other, if not both, will have to be greatly simplified.

We're not going to ask a rookie to learn two different positions. I know it sounds simple, but what you've suggested is just way, WAY too much to ask a rookie to take on.

"Highest rated available" on the NFLN or ESPN big board mean a whole heaping pile of jackshit. The only board the Panthers care about is Gettleman's board.

I'm just curious where we play him. We play a 4-3 base, but we only actually put 3 LBs on the field on a little over 30% of defensive snaps last year. I don't see taking snaps away from Luke or TD to get him on the field, so he's either going to have to straight up play SS or he's going to have to play in some sort of joker role to see a decent amount of snaps.

Can't say I'm excited, but it's what I expected. I'm sure he's going to be a really damn good football player for us.

I think that might have been Gettleman's pick. We'll find out if this pick isn't ran up to the podium like usual with Dave.

If he drafts an OT he WILL have wanted him all along. We had a much more pressing need at OT last season and we didn't draft one at all. That right there proved to me that Gettleman won't reach no matter what. We went into the season with quite possibly the worst starting pair of OTs in NFL history and I'm not even joking.

I hope Randall is in the mix, but Rivera really seems to want a big thumper safety.

You didn't listen to Gettleman's presser, did you? Ray would be a SHOCKING pick. He smokescreened everybody big time if that's the pick.

Based on our visits and what we seem to be looking for, I think it's Shaq, Humphries, or Devin Smith. I'd prefer it be between Strong, Fisher, and Preston Smith.
