Audio: Joe Person interview (Fox Sports Upstate)
LinvilleGorge replied to ellis's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can see it now. Rhule's final parting gift. We trade three 1sts and CMC for Deshaun Watson who trashes his knee again playing behind another trash Rhule OL leaving us absolutely gutted of draft capital for years to come and damaged goods at QB. -
Panthers taking offers for Cmac in the off-season
LinvilleGorge replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
When has this actually happened? Historically, overpaying our own guys to keep them well past their prime has been a far bigger issue. -
If we don't resign Jackson and Reddick....
LinvilleGorge replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
With the investments we've made at CB, I'm inclined to let D-Jax walk and take the comp pick. Reddick depends on scheme IMO. Either rub a straight up 3-4 or let him walk and take the comp pick. In 4-3 base, he and Reddick are redundant and light on the pants against the run. They're nightmare bookends as 3-4 OLBs though. -
Steve Smith weighs in on Panthers situation
LinvilleGorge replied to Cary Kollins's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coordinate what? He was an OC for Temple for 4 years prior to his 1 year of OL coaching for the Giants. Temple's offense was ranked 82, 41, 79, and 40 during those four season. Amazing work. -
I mean, it's possible. But yes, the first step is poo canning Fatt Rhule and company. That's something that virtually everyone can agree on.
-
At best we're a QB and a couple of OL away. Unfortunately, that's the best case scenario and franchise QB is by far the hardest roster hole to fill.
-
It's possible but it's definitely not very likely. There's not a great track record of injury prone players miraculously regaining their durability.

I love CMC. When healthy I think he's the best non-QB offensive player in the league. The problem is that "when healthy" stipulation. He's barely played the past two seasons. I'm not saying we should definitely trade him, but we should definitely shop him.

That was the Giants. I think the Jets were the previous year. They sent Rhule back to college with his college plan. -

It just makes sense. It sucks, but he just can't stay healthy and we can't really utilize him anyway with no QB and no OL. Let him go somewhere ready to compete. I'd love to see what he could do in a better situation. -

The Jets talked to Rhule and were like... yeah, nah we're good. -

Yes. All of this. -
I've seen no evidence for this brutal honesty. I've seen a lot of blatant lying, finger pointing, and excuse making though.

The only way we'd get a good candidate is Tepper paying them out the ass. If my goal is to be a HC, the last thing I want to do is be a one and done coordinator under a coach needing a miracle season not to get fired. I just don't think legit NFL coordinator candidates will see Rhule's Panthers as a good landing spot. At all.

But I mean, hey... she's easy on the eyes and if she'll lick a toilet seat there's probably VERY few things out of bounds for her so it was probably a helluva good time. -
His shin to thigh length ratio must be slightly off to play OG according to Fatt Rhule.
-
It really doesn't matter what your favorite metric is. We suck ass in all of them. That's because we suck.

Doesn't matter to me. Just punch Fatt Rhule in the vicinity if the head/neck area. -

We run a high school offense. To call it a college offense would be disrespectful to college offenses. We run the same bullshit slants constantly and the opposing D is just sitting there waiting for them. We could have an All Pro caliber QB and WRs and I honestly don't think it would make a huge difference. Everyone knows what's coming.- 70 replies

It wouldn't shock me. Even though I've been pounding the FA drum for years, Amy pick we make in the 1st that isn't a QB or OL is a fuging idiotic pick.
