Bingo. My wife and I have been together since I was 19 and she was 18. Only serious relationship either of us were ever in. Never really planned for any of this it just kept working so we rolled with it. Got engaged after five years of living together. We're engaged for five years before getting married, there was always just other stuff we would rather do and focus on. Then after about five more years holy poo she's pregnant. Wake Forest (11-3)4 in ACC) got handled with East by NCSU (3-12 in ACC). Currently clogging up my feed while the refs review a completely irrelevant call with the game decided. NCSU up 10 with 42.9 seconds to go and they're sweating and out of bounds call like it's going to decide the game.

Look at the worst teams in the league. Pretty much all of them are going to be poor drafters. The draft is by far a team's best opportunity to add talent for good value. Sure, you can find the occasional gem in free agency who excels in a new system better suited to his strengths but for the most part you're going to have to pay market value for veteran talent. If you fail year after year to add talent to your roster with cap friendly deals you're screwed and that's a very tough row to hoe in free agency as Dave Gettleman found out. He was really feeling himself striking gold on the cheap in free agency his first year here then came up with no gold and just a bunch of rocks in subsequent years which is usually what you're buying on the cheap in FA.

Yeah, we won with that scratch off ticket but that shouldn't encourage you to spend the mortgage money on more scratch off lottery tickets.

I'll take a good backup/marginal starter on the field all day everyday over a starter on IR.

The guy has only been healthy for nine games in the last two seasons combined. You can't pay those guys.

Ward is similar to Caleb Williams IMO. The talent is obvious but so are the concerns with his game, notably holding the ball forever and willingness to take risks. I like Ward more just because he doesn't come across as a total diva.

Hell, we have some position groups where being a "starter" doesn't necessarily mean much. You can be a fringe level NFL roster talent and still be a starter.

And ideally I'd come away with two edge rushers and a DT with those picks. This draft class is built for it IMO and we desperately need to rebuild our defensive front. We pretty much have Derrick Brown and a bunch of backups.

Now the Carter comparisons to Burns i just cannot see at all. Carter plays with a lot more power than Burns ever did. Burns was always a pure finesse speed rusher. I'm not saying he'll be a Von Miller level NFL player but his playing style is a lot more reminiscent of Miller's than Burns.

It's why I really hope that we at least entertain trading down. There's a big cluster of guys at DT and edge who are likely going in the first three rounds that I can understand arguments of having them ranked however anyone wants to sort them out.

Watch the Kentucky game. He was 14/35 with 0 TDs and 2 INTs but watch the game.

I think one or more of these second tier edge rushers is going to have a stellar combine. James Pearce Jr. is my best guess.

It all came down to the interviews for Richardson IMO. His Florida tape was hard to breakdown because the receivers were so damn bad dropping balls all over the place. He threw the ball a lot better than his stats looked. But I can't imagine how he would've interviewed well.

A lot to sort out on the DL and edge rushers. I could see teams having these guys ranked all over the place once you get past Carter and Graham.
