Weaker players can only compete via excellent mechanics, he has little to maximize but it would be much better with everything working together. He would have a chance. It is one game, but the worry was that those rebuilt mechanics would fall away when the bullets started flying and we could see the difference in his 7 on 7 throws vs live action.

In Clausen’s defense, his head coach forced him to play out of spite to JR. And Hurney for picking him. Clausen was not ready and Fox really just fuged him over. He just wasn’t ready. He may have never been ready but he was thrown to the wolves. Young is so much of a different thing, he has been coddled and favored and propped and they have done everything they could to help him.

I might listen to WFNZ early to hear all the excuses they will surely make. And listen to them be rude to people telling them how Bryce is a nobody.

I absolutely felt that Wilks would tell him what he thought straight up and would be the kind of guy to say No. And that it was for sure a factor. Along with the offensive play caller obsession, probably the proposed staff…

You cannot start Bryce Young again. He is not an NFL player.

You make him be the backup for that last two years of his guaranteed money or freaking quit. At least year 3. He owes us. -
Yeah and that isn’t a physical trait. It is no good without the physical ability to take advantage of it. I bet his footwork went to hell today.

You know darned well if I asked what was even average, what people would have to say. Trying to put a little sugar in with the bad tasting truth.

I couldn’t watch much today. I normally stay away and catch the replay. So it doesn’t ruin my day. I feel like I won when they lose but I wasn’t their captive fool. plus, no commercials. No interminable challenge delays, it is so much better. I gotta find a new spot this year.

Coaching ain’t the problem. Please. He is on his third guy. As a matter of religion, I don’t believe in trading up to number one for a college QB for reasons previously enumerated. It is always a gamble. Would not have done it for Stroud. I would have had issues with taking Young at 9, so no. And no to AR in the same proposition. Once it was done, there was just total eyeball ranking and Bryce failed his pro day. And CJ was so excellent putting the ball on target, and AR had such potential, and Levis lurked back there in the bargain section… and I’d have gone with any of them because of Young’s physical limitations. Cut and dried.

That is the thing. I never got an answer, asking what tool did he have that was above NFL average… only something else. I don’t want to say no one, but I don’t remember getting a tool specific rebuttal. A bunch of ‘it’s good enough’? More that.

I am not even looking at him yet. We know the situation. He has to be QB guru/play caller/1st time HC with only a season as OC behind it. You have to give him the year. And really, after all the “you have to give Bryce the year because everyone around him was so bad” … haven’t we had enough of blaming and firing in his name? Everyone needs the year. Bryce too. Even I, died in the wool skeptic, didn’t think he would still be this fuging bad.

I didn’t think it would be good. I thought maybe the first drive would go well, lol at me. Except for the strip sack I pictured in my head that didn’t happen, it pretty much looked like what I was unable to get out of my mind from last year. (I expected better, but the fear remained) This is going to be a long season but it won’t all be this bad. I am worried about the defense though. The OL - Lewis didn’t make the trip to Buffalo and I am guessing missed a lot of stuff with whatever his mystery issue was… The guards are not FA busts. It was Corbett’s first game (at C) and again, the guy next to him was MIA a lot. Let’s see in week three or four if it is still this bad. Also this is week one now done, any vested vet you sign now you do not have to guarantee the deal. We should be active.

I think performance wise it was a contender if not the flat out winner by a length. But not the most painful. This is just more of what we saw in our final two games last year. I remember losing Smitty against I think the Packers and I think it was the first game and even MNF. That is my worst memory that comes to mind in a minute. (I must have blocked that 2009 Philly game from my memory).

Well, 9 of the last 12 3rd round or better went to offense. And I think none higher than 3rd round went to defense. They traded the pass rusher to free up money to help the QB, and used the pick to help the QB, as well. Defense is red headed stepchild next to Bryce Young. Disagree? Maybe if the offense could spend some time on the field and not give the ball away they might have a shot. a little shot. They are put at a disadvantage personnel wise, and in-game situationally, the same. It was pretty embarrassing though, but they are not the main attraction here.

Specifically Mango, well I guess fumbling is a part of being a WR so fair enough. The second one, I don’t hold against him. The first one, like he had a loaf of bread and for sure fug that. He needs to not let that happen again. They can’t run an NFL offense so, they can’t evaluate, was what I was going for.
-
The OL will end up a lot better and I think most could start somewhere else. A couple guys on D. 5 could start. I am running a little slower coming up with more that I feel good about. I am not down on the draft picks yet. Give the team chance with a leader that isn’t a high school sized player. This is probably wrong, but I dare say there is a high school guy somewhere that could beat him out.

I don’t k ow how you are supposed to know with any skill player with this QB. This is, so far, probably the most pathetic plan I have ever seen for wining in the NFL and it starts with the QB. Maybe they can get a few wins and get better at the dinking and dump offs, flairs and all that…. Can block up a run game eventually with more reps which they haven’t had. That roll him out, he is not athletic enough to excel doing that in this league.
-
Quarterback school! Where are you folks excusing the QB because it is everyone else’s fault? You’re on. Start bullshitting.
-
Don’t worry. They will take the biggest strong armed dumbest guy they can find. It will not be the same mistake, it will be the typical over correction.
-
I like isolating players and seeing what they are doing. Sue me. I am used to putrid since Tepper came into the picture…I can handle it.
-
I might watch my first Young postgame press comments. To see how honest he is willing to be.
-
Nah, more strip sacks or interceptions.
-
Anybody but. Levis probably looks like HOF by comparison to Bruce. My new name for him.
-
Completely agree, except we have a spoiled madman doing the hiring and firing.

I want to see a replay that I can examine closer because the live thing is so bad I am not paying attention.
