  1. Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one. I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched. I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him. I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
  2. That is fair, but it makes me long for a statistic for everything that did happen before that, that set that whole last drive up to be the deciding score. And fwiw (and I am not looking it up), but how many times was there a chance or two to close the gap and set up a game winning drive, except that didn’t happen? Or stalling and falling short? You do have to keep it close for those scenarios.. but do they factor too? And how do you weight it? Anyway, on the Jake thing. Putting Bryce on a level with Jake is all kinds of messed up. Jake smoked it his first game for the team. All the way to the Super Bowl. Everybody loved him and for good reason. Total opposite of Bryce’s arc. Totally different situation. Jake was a low rent FA gamble that seriously paid off, and immediately. Again, polar opposite. Crazy overpay, and we still don’t know if he is going to pay off. Bryce needs to be evaluated without trying to compare eras. And the yardage… what does 200 yards a game x 16 come to? Add another 200 for game 17 for Jake or pull it off of Bryce. It isn’t that different if we play the style of game that we did in his successful game and a half here lately. Of course he gets to play and compile, and that is fluid atp so just saying.
  3. I am in the middle of catching up and got this far. I can’t let it pass. So quickly…. 25yards is just not true. People question his arm strength, I do, but 25 yards? Come on man. That’s just bullshit.
  4. People write novellas trying to convince people of their biased opinions in favor of iil man but someone does a rebuttal and it is a bad fanning. Okay. I liken it to when a law firm goes up against a bigger law firm and the discovery documents and evidence shows up on a forklift at the little law office. Roomful of boxes floor to ceiling to go through. Classic movie scene. It is hoping the other side will just give up because it is too exhausting to fight it The thing is he for real was not impressive at all in some games that we won and some are included here. That NYG Europe game for instance. So tiresome. It mostly is just a bunch of lobbying. He is on the backstretch rounding the turn heading into the home stretch. The back 9 on the final day unless you think it should take more than three years to assess. I think we are going to see things that make all these 2000 word essays moot. Then we will see. It is in his hands not ours.
  5. Just like WR, you thin it out and then suffer an injury and you are scrambling. Any RB could have run through some of those those holes though and maybe you don’t get the same xtra yards but you are getting yardage. It is the pass catching they will miss the most.
  6. Without Sanders, they are stil catching balls. Sanders is about a giveaway to it will be a pass play. Also, hoping we see the competition at RB keep both guys on their toes.
  7. Think DJ is a fan of nail painting QBs?
  8. You can’t pay him and a QB too. If we got him (gigantic if) we should draft a new QB.
  9. That t was my reaction too. How many stinkers has he sat through before forming that conclusion? I mean maybe he is an NFL QB but what I have seen he is a part time NFL QB, on his good days. But he doesn’t have that many good days. It ain’t his ceiling as much as it is his floor that is the issue. PS, Chris Long would not have been afraid of him even a little. He’d be salivating.
  10. That is going to have to be the way, if he stays because we can’t pay two LOT deals. Now, I am all about the cumulative, in the sense that you can win a draft with a bad top pick if you hit elsewhere, and in this scenario, what is the entire group costing you. Like if Icky gets a lot money but we draft a new LOT and move him over and add the two contracts, they total up like two decent values. PS I wanted to make Icky a guard before Dan did his guard stuff. And have to say, I have seen Hunt look pretty bad at times and with th success of the rushing game without him and not sure he was necessary. Great player but maybe not for the price.
  11. I can enjoy the moment without succumbing to reality denying optimism over it
  12. I would prefer Icky be moved to ROT before being paid, not after. but the Motion deal made that impossible.
  13. He isn’t a QB so maybe we are safe from insane overpays.
  14. The QB is spotting them points every other game and Dallas is the number one offense. The rushing yards allowed totals are impressive the last two weeks.
  15. I am kind of ambivalent mainly because I am aligned with the ‘don’t give Chicago more treasure’ sentiment. If he forces his way out take ATs pick and get him. That would make it a very good trade.
  16. Was looking at the box, play by play. 1st half. I think 113 yards passing no TDs no picks. A 30 yarder included, can’t figure if it was a short one with YAC or downfield. Team had ten points at the half. 20 in the second half. Much more yardage too, he ended with around 300. 312 two 4th quarter TDS no picks https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401547617 1st half was not horrible at all and better than his norm but I think I am sticking with the second half assessment. Where it was more impressive and productive.
  17. I would say you have a higher threshold for poo football than I do. I was at the just make it stop point in 2022. These last three years with the exception of the past two weeks have been misery. I remember the Panthers being fairly regular winners in a couple of stretches. Long ago.
  18. As I remember it, it was a second half game. Not complete as this last one was. And what followed it? Two games of gooseggs and then the two to start 2024. maybe I need to go back and look at it but I think I remember the arguments afterwards. And we lost the game too.
  19. Are you saying what we have been watching is the suffering we must go through to get the ring? How long has that been going on now? Do you feel like if we just continue the dues paying we will be rewarded? To me this like when you are getting tortured and you finally get to where you are begging someone to just kill you to make it stop hurting. I’ll take a couple of blowouts a year for and against and the rest .500 competitive, football that is at least watchable over what they have given us for the better part of 7 years now. They have killed my spirit. It is like you are chasing the hot chick and keep getting your heart broken when if you would just accept the butterface that treats you right, your life would be so much better.
  20. You may not be making the excuses but they are there. I gave him what I consider high praise and at the same time feel like it is totally valid to look for him to be in a position where it is on him to lift it up because the box is full and there isn’t any yardage to be had on the ground, you know the scenario. I mean that is a test he has yet to convincingly pass from my memory. . You may or may not have seen but I gave him props for Sunday. Absolutely his best game afaic and he did it for 4 quarters. Which seems like a first. Maybe a second, but it is rare. Year three and everything but the kitchen sink has been thrown at helping him not fail; standards are high and should be high before he gets yet more years.
