  1. Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job. What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it? Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day. If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
  2. There is for sure some hedging going on. I think this changing staffs thing has had the coaches not knowing what they have early on. And restocking when they didn’t need to or vice versa.
  3. That part is true and we know this because two of them were here. And the guy we hired has a record with those types. Vets. It should be a consideration. edit: not just him, or specifically him. Any and all who fit the description should be considered.
  4. I like the thinking but have to ask, you think he had those notarized in anticipation? Okay kidding but if Tepper is as involved as people think he would know who Morgan liked. Also, if Tepper would have been happy with everything Morgan had done in cahoots with Fitterer, well he already had it and fired it. So I think there has to be some divergence from Fitterer somewhere in the timeline, or he wouldn't be here.
  5. I am thinking, 17 games. Maybe going to 18. Two backs. 1A 1B. And what you pay for them is cumulative so if you have a talented back you got in the draft you can be sitting pretty, really (paying one a higher salary). Looking at the long game is hard, I have been frustrated by no Brooks but if he shines for the next 3 years I'll forget that. And then Chuba, that could be pretty strong.
  6. I don't fundamentally disagree but have some potential misgivings on the players, or other considerations. Like, I don't know how much it means, but Canales' experience is not with college QBs. That may or may not matter but it is a consideration. We could probably find others to ponder. Like the baggage of Prime Time too, what would that be like? Is he gonna undermine the coaching if his son isn't coming out perfect right away? etc
  7. Thank you. You aren't the first person to post that same stuff about that game. He did what he did. There are no ifs there. That is it, what made the stat sheet. What counted in the contest. Past that you are getting into what ifs. And if you only cite 'almosts' that favor (in this case) Bryce, that is cherry picking. How is it not?
  8. I don't think I was aware of his injury or fumble issues. I saw him looking good when I was looking at RBs and wanted to take him.
  9. Heh. We have motorcycle and a side car like Barney Fife. As far as it goes, they don’t know what they have in Brooks so maybe they were willing to go a little more on Chuba, lacking the leverage he might have provided with a strong couple of games in the can. He was gon g to get paid something pretty good by someone so what people are doing is freaking over something like 1% of the cap they might have ‘overpaid’. Maybe a couple of mil per season. That is the difference here between a reasonable deal and this travesty, isn’t it?
  10. We ended up with Sanders because of Staley and Fitterer and Reich. And I don’t understand why either.
  11. Yeah, again with the cherry picking of the ‘ifs’. ‘If they had only caught it’ can apply to defensive backs too. So when you start counting all those ifs and applying them to his theoretical stats, add the theoretical Ints too or you are not being level.
  12. They claimed he could do that. At where he was picked he is supposed to be able to do that. As far as sleeping on him, that little bit of noise he makes won’t interrupt my snoring.
  13. I didn’t take the time to find his old contract butI was able to find that he had a 3.25 million dollar cap hit so that sounds incongruous. Maybe it was 3.29 I read it earlier. edit: to those calling it big money, I know it is money but how big it is, when WRs are getting well over 20 million per, and over ten years ago the Panthers were paying DW 8.5 mil per. When you get two years down the road are those numbers gonna look that bad, if he plays well?
  14. Yeah, that is kind of valid. But other years may be different. I have used this before because it is possibly the best example of the counter or media argument: CMC 8th overall. Kamara went in the 3rd. (I think) the Saints got more from Kamara than the Panthers did from CMC the first couple of years.
  15. If they cut Sanders, and are paying Brooks 2nd round rookie contract money then where is the huge expense? They are giving Brooks 2 million per basically. Wasn't Chuba getting 3-4 million? It probably is a wash without Sanders' money on the tab. spotrac overthecap they are all updated I had a hard time getting the older numbers
  16. Bro, watch just the last game. He was pretty good, and a factor. Bigger picture, the biggest reasons we are losing games is no defense, and the QB position is broken. Looking forward, it also is a maxim, unwritten rule, whatever... a young QB's best friend is a great OL and running game (and a defense too lol 'nother subject). So if we get another young QB those things are in place.
  17. They are paying WRs 27 million and stuff now so I don't worry much about 15 million guaranteed to Chuba, that's a couple of years between 8-9 million at worst probably.
  18. One of the reasons people devalue the position is you can find RBs fairly easily. With a good OL it gets easier too. I want a banger bruiser type in the mix too lol.
  19. If it all goes like they want, you have Chuba finishing the contract and Brooks finishing his the same year. The obvious move then or maybe in '26 would be to repeat this scenario with a top college RB drafted and Brooks taking the Hubbard role when/if Hubbard is put to pasture. I think they are trying to longer term plan the roster/contracts out.
  20. I think if Brooks had come in and shined the team would have had a little leverage, but they didn't. It is an overpay. I am only mildly critical though, on whole it is probably a positive. Congratulations to Chuba.
  21. We got guys back that helped. That stuff with both ILB going down the same week and no Clowney either, was rough
  22. It's like he did, at first. Then when poo got real it was time to get real with Bryce.
  23. They have scored 8 fewer points than we have but given up something like 91 fewer points. I haven't looked deeper than the standings so maybe they really are worse.
