Well, give up or not, you paid big time for 4 years of control and the 5th year option. If you were certain he just was a drag on things you may not care about that but that isn't nothing. I don't see non garbage time defenses giving him anything but if somehow you could get a matchup where he could look good then you stick him in there and hope he can look like more than he is. Maybe you can get a much better return. If they really think he is an NFL starter then no way they should trade him. I actually trust the staff to make that call.

It might be right but it is a fact, that that is an opinion. Do you think she was getting her Hunger Games plot from players or people in the building, that are on the Panthers staff? I think her contacts are media types, people that work in the building and hear stuff. Could it have been a couple of fired coaches and cut players for that Hunger Games? Yeah could be that too. But she got her intel from people on the inside somewhere, and my guess is that is where it is coming from this time, in the building, without someone specifically saying what their role is. Could even be Gantt, easily.

I just read that article. In regards to Tepper being the instigator, the article just says "even people on the Panthers". Doesn't say players. And what they said was "Too much change from Sunday to Monday". It's no more than an opinion of an employee. We don't know what they know. Though, as far as I am concerned whoever made the call to pull him, it is the right call. Wish they could have been that smart a year and a half ago.

Whatever we get, it will be more than he will be worth as an NFL QB. I'd like to get another QB.

I doubt I could tell you the better pick or who wouldn't make it in the NFL between two really similar NFL prototype prospects, because it is not easy. I didn't know Stroud would be THAT good that quick. Bryce, that was easy. College vs NFL is a real thing. He is not NFL. That's enough to judge him on, you can stop there and save yourself some time because nothing else matters if you don't have that athleticism.

I won’t say I loved it, for the reason that much of it seemed tailored to Bryce. But I understood it. I certainly had no issue with drafting looking ahead vs immediate gratification. Lack of patience has really been a problem. Also I just never was able to believe that Bryce was going to end up being worth all that plus they were trashing the defense to get it done.

I definitely agree with your scenario about Reich. I think it finally got to the point he wouldn’t play along. Because he knew. Matter of fact, Reich got the best out of him, such as it was.

This is ridiculous from the stand point the it is commonly done all the time. Tell me you never heard any other coach or owner or GM say this about a player or a manager and the next or a few days later they fire them. Release them. Also, you seem to believe that Canales personally told Bryce after the game that he was still the starter. 1st I would doubt that. Second what evidence? And not to your post but the general thing with Tepper. Is it possible they all agree? I can see Tepper making the call and Canales going Thank You. Not the first time I said this but it fits: there is plenty of Bad Tepper to hold against him, a mountain, that it is unnecessary to just create reasons to be pissed off at him.

I have banged hard on the idea that there is no way a guy who played QB for years and stayed in as a coach, would sign off on an outlier with those mechanics. I just will not believe it.

Yeah. That is the biggest thing that says I can’t or won’t. Either one, you can’t or won’t have that in a player.
