Ha that is two questions. Don't know. It appears so but the Bryce garbage time insertions tell me maybe not.

Some of us knew that before they sunk it. He didn't.

And Canales makes all the calls, right? Big boss man would never run him off to keep Bryce in play? Cool. Let's hope.

Dianna Russian: several teams interested in Bryce Young
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
His value is tanked because he tanked it via his performance. It will not get but so much better whatever he does (reasonable expectations being applied). But the cap hit situation made it very unlikely anything would be done regardless, until after the season is over and they can absorb having everything accelerated to the cap as a result of his absence. -

She knew that, she was click baiting people with her gossip. -
Well you have the trifecta of Tepper giving Rhule roster control with Fitterer doing his bidding. Then taking it back right? Then Tepper influences stuff in 2023 so hard. Fitterer was drafting for this staff, then that staff, the owner, mixing in his own ideas, just a fuging confused mess.

It seemed clear he was going to be released at a total loss. Once that word is out the only thing left is to get something; more than the nothing you get when he is released.

We did get some guys back on defense, it helped. It also helped that the Saints' OL is in shambles. Well, it was two weeks ago and I don't think it got better; that helped us too. What was the stat, 275 and 0 with the stats someone showed? Lol. Playing that 'if' game, you just have to take all the 'ifs' into account. Those were some prime opportunities missed by NO. The rainbow that someone caught I forget who, was pretty iffy also. But I think it is the only way he can get over, just have to gamble and throw those balls out there because the little screens and everything ain't cutting it.

You might figure that negativity is very much frowned on in that locker room, and that factoring into things too.
-
Man, if that is true it sounds like people wanted us to just plain give him away and pay for him too.

I am not excited by a 1 point win against a depleted team. It is unusual that I don't feel better about it, I think they have me beat down pretty low. Like, I just want the year to be done and over. And then see where things are headed next, before I can feel better about things.

I don't get the outrage over what round pick we got. He is a UFA in 10 games and was squabbling with the org here. Not a value enhancement. I do get the irritation over us paying him to play elsewhere, that is not an isolated guy, he is added to a growing list.

Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 9 win over Saints
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I'll buy that he hasn't been that bad in a game, it was definitely his worst. The way he was handled was really alarming because he was flat out overpowered. It wasn't like someone came through a gap and he didn't get there quick enough. Which probably happened too but man he got walked straight back in a way that should not happen with a top flight NFL guard. -
We have heard a lot of stuff. I'm thinking judging him by what he has done as GM is fair. And saddling him with the baggage of Fitterer, Tepper, Rhule etc, is not fair. I disagree with some moves so far but nothing egregious really outside of the resource allocation favoring the offense so heavily but it was not a single year fix so let's see what happens this offseason.

3rd down we are punting if nothing happens. So throw a punt if you have to. Like the one that he threw earlier that was caught. Or throw where only the target has a chance, maybe it is incomplete but throwing ob is just giving up. Over and over we have watched him bail out and do stuff like that. It isn't like it was just this one time.
-
Just saying, when you use 'ifs' to build up the positive without adding in the negative 'ifs' to counterbalance, you get that optimistic picture. If you take the 'if' thing and apply it to the negatives that didn't happen but could have, you probably have two interceptions and their consequences to include in the equation.

Well, on Young, yeah you pick up the phone if it rings. Some of this is really welcome - Canales is holding him accountable, making him compete for playing time, where before he was anointed and given the keys.

You keep saying that. Maybe you are right, I do not have that trust. edit: two years of excuses have me feeling like that, and there are some being built in as we speak with the defense and the depleted WR corps now.

I am fine with mine, let's hear yours.

Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 9 win over Saints
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Whatever it was, watching Hunt just get walked backwards mano a mano, that was fairly shocking to me. Not supposed to happen. -
I was on board with keeping him simply because of that guaranteed deal, and we would need to replace him as backup. Put another way we would need a backup anyway so why not get the value out of him? But it just keeps the dream alive and I am afraid he will end up out there because of what is invested in him, and I am simply not aligned with that at all. I mean, if you have an alcoholic in the house, keeping them sober is easier when they don't have the temptation within arm's reach. Bryce being the alcohol, Tepper being the alcoholic, in this little analogy.
-
He did well with the last 4th round pick, maybe he can turn this into something. Just sucks seeing another 2nd round WR pick wasted. And we are going to be thin now. He was getting snaps. Who the heck is behind him? Sign TMJr off someone's practice squad? He knows the plays at least.
-
And maybe the drive before that, throwing it OB on third and 6 or something. Which is the Bryce I know.
-
I think I mean that, just glancing over it. He would not step into throws in pressure it is all on film. The passing charts bear it out. You can substitute a word of your choice for 'afraid' if that bothers you. The idea is the same, he would not do it for whatever reason. This goes all the way back to game 3 2023 when after two games of this small ball, Dalton went downfield and surprise surprise... you could really see the difference in the offense right away. The last two games he has stood in there finally, better, but the actual aggressive downfield stuff just happened finally. DO I think he just all of a sudden decided hey I better start throwing down field? I think he is motivated by something, like staying off the bench.
