You are too harsh. Owners tell GMs what to do all the time. It doesn’t make someone “unfit”. A man unfit for that job could not have had that 2025 draft. Frank, ceding control of the defense in no way verifies that Tepper told Canales to bench Young. It certainly buttresses the idea that Canales would need permission to bench him but that is as far as you can take it. After that it is pure speculation and it doesn’t make sense.

I am definitely a Zavala skeptic. I thought he had fixed his issues which were substantial his first year, he was as bad as you will ever see. (But I think I was mistaken) I don’t know what they should have done with Motion. That contract was so bad, it seemed like lose him or work an extension. I do t think they were ready to replace him. My pint about depth is that we had some. That is mostly gone now too. And I was not a big supporter of giving 150 million to two guards. And you know why is was done, to prop up little man. I think the people who think Tepper told Canales to bench Young have it wrong. Also they have it wrong claiming his postgame comments as proof. Coaches lie all the time about that stuff. Like owners lie about coaches. It even has a name: the dreaded vote of confidence. They are simply not going to tell you something like that before they talk to the player, number one. You don’t really need another reason but you might include he isn’t benching the kid without talking g to the owner that really had just hired him. I think he had to clear the benching with the owner. Without audio or video that includes audio of Tepper telling Canales to bench Bryce, I will never believe it happened like that.

Baseball, the time in between pitches gives you time to ponder the strategy as there is often a lot of it to consider. the DH has robbed the game of a good part of that. But a well pitched 1-0 game can be seen as boring, or full of drama depending on your perspective.

Bottom of the roster churn would be okay with me. If some trades are made some people will be waived/released. I remember it as teams played us with Cam and his dead arm about like they play us with Bryce. They weren’t afraid of anything deep down the field. Cheated up on everything. Talk about a deep ball Cam had a deep ball.
