  1. I don’t see anything in team history that compares to the magnitude of the Bryce Young disaster.
  2. The days of not having much advance warning are over. They were still tracking hurricanes via reports from ships at sea in 1940 and certainly were in 1916. If you go back and read the warnings and predictions there were clues that it was not going to be good. I guess one thing that will come out of it is that people WILL pay attention to the forecasts and now have a fresh example that these things really do happen, not just in a book about history. Fact is that the idea of catastrophic consequences being a real thing is mostly limited to people who have been through that. And they are nearly died out, it isn't a 'this could definitely happen I better get out of here just in case' to so many. It will be now for the next 20 or 30 years at least.
  3. I think if he sucks we'll feel better about losing that pick. That's the solace. Such as it is. It is strength on strength our O vs their D, and the other sides are weakness vs weakness. DJ will be motivated but they have to get it to him.
  4. So far you can still trust the weather sites. Even if you don't trust the news it is important to keep up with weather threats. The hyping of minor incidents by people like The Weather Channel gets to be sort like crying wolf all the time, got to go online to NOAA and the weather geek type of places. I use this site and it pretty much gets you to everything you need to monitor the GoM and Atlantic weather threats: https://spaghettimodels.com/ by the hyping I mean, for a week they have their landfall plastered all over the screen and the reporters scaring people into preparing and then the thing turns to the right at a different place than they thought and all that stuff is forgotten as they rush to the new site. The people that were in the barrel have done all their prep and don't have that payoff so they will not heed warnings as fast the next time. That's why I don't watch them any more. I just go to the models. Like they do.
  5. A few minutes of Dalton forcing the defense to expand to normal defensive coverages, bingo. They are backed off. It is all it took to make things easier.
  6. He is probably someone that was on their radar and it is a move made independent of the current crisis.
  7. CBA protects them from being driven hard and really shows in the game.
  8. A guy I work with sometimes left the Myrtle Beach area at 6am pulling a 40ft racing trailer full of water headed for NC mountains. On his own dime. People up there are saying no FEMA really...
  9. I liked the pick after looking at him and doing some reading. Stuff like being a team captain carries some weight too (he was, in college). Accountable. He seems smart. This is the best thing for him really.
  10. Okay. Who wouldn't want out after a camp with Young and those first two games? Not saying he has changed his mind but it wouldn't be the first time these 'insiders' based their pontifications on outdated info. Two weeks ago the Panthers OL and WRs and Canales were the reasons Bryce Young was struggling, we knew they hadn't even looked at us. Of course you ask him man to man and if he doesn't want to stay ask where he wants to go.
  11. Afaic his only chance to throw the football successfully at the NFL level is to stop doing what he did to get there, and start doing it right. His deal with being broken, to me, seems to stem from his inability to adapt from Alabama open to NFL open. That anticipation he needs to work with is fool's gold if he can't pull the throws off. Then, he doesn't trust himself. Won't throw it. Goes to yard ball running around directing his WRs. He might be able to function as a QB if he fixes all that. It won't be easy. Seriously by the time he gets that straight, by then that 5th year option decision is probably looming.
  12. Dial up a corner blitz. Wallace getting thrown into the fire might accelerate him towards being good. That's about all I've got. That and A'Shawn.
  13. Thanks. I responded to that "assholes" thing. I didn't start the thread and I understand why you might not love it, but I thought it went personal which will get my blood pressure active.
  14. You clearly don't understand the level of disgust. We have had it with him.
  15. Well, I was just musing if my memories, which aren't that great on old stuff, corresponded with the bottom rankings yeah. Like if one year's team had a ton of bottom rankings in those different categories, that would be interesting. If I am expressing myself correctly. It's probably poo that should remain obscure and that's why I didn't want to push it. (like how many would really care about it, too much trouble..) edit again: I think I was looking for something like a voting deal where so many points for a 1st place, down to last place, and seeing who totaled... like the aggregate score of all 30 fuging years so it's probably a little much
  16. It seems like that stuff runs in certain places and I wonder about the training regimens, and for sure the turf. Maybe the people assigned to these positions have a better or worse effect on things... all that stuff. I'm on Tepper about that turf; he is ridiculous. Says he wants to win. Hire someone to figure it out and pay them. Not like he can't recoup plenty of profit still. The valuation of the team is constantly rising.
  17. I was just wondering if there were a predominance of low ranking attached to particular years. I think I assumed it covered all the years. I am bad for skimming stuff and not thoroughly reading through it. It's not a big thing. I get curious - but man those things are rabbit holes.
  18. I mean, it's largely a good way to live. All good. I wasn't pointing fingers at you.
  19. This is football, not female spouse behavior. Ahh, maybe it is. And this poo goes both ways. I'm working hard towards 'if there isn't any SH there won't be any IT".
  20. I think I am going to file your post under 'Complaining about complaining, and those people complaining sure are assholes".
  21. The bright side is that we just about have closure.
  22. Rehabbing the retread label. I wanted another retread instead of all that over paying to draft one. With a view that this is what we could get. Now, maybe without having to watch Bryce play this wouldn't look so great. But we did and it does.
