  1. After sleeping on it... For a person that does not believe in Bryce Young as a savior but rather views him as a huge mistake, this is a huge mistake. Dan cannot be 'the man for the job' if he sticks with Young. But would never have gotten hired if he didn’t. I am confused.
  2. Facts are facts, and there are circumstances behind them. The part about him and Fitterer being friends makes me wonder. I can just say, Dan talks like a guy who had to bite his lip a lot. This just occurred to me though, right now. I think it’s funny. I watched the PC in the last hour. Canales said some things of substance but he also pissed me off several times with his putting the players on a pedestal. I have heard people say that the kids nowadays need to be coddled, and he was coddling away. And Morgan was all John Fox you aren’t tough enough. It was textbook good cop bad cop. Sort of. Now I am confused. But I’ll say, this guy has said a couple of things I really like. and for sure so has Morgan.
  3. Top 5, ehh I don’t know but he is a load. Getting traded as just a piece in the deal will wake you up too, I’d bet. WRs are dependent no doubt. We are going to have to overpay now that I think about it.
  4. I am down on the hire because Tepper hired him, to be honest. That’s all I need anymore. The hole he dug a year ago is still getting deeper but at the same time the position we are with the QBs in warrants a guy with his particular expertise Young or no Young. I have no hope at all he can transform the guy he was brought here for. I do have hope though, that maybe he is the silver lining in this whole clusterfug. As we have seen time and again, you need a franchise QB, but you might even need a franchise coach more. For the times when you don’t have a franchise QB. And the times that you do, too. So far, I don’t see anything glaring* that says he can’t be (talking about the coach). edit: *completely forgot to consider Tepper.
  5. Rivera never quit trying to find his Sproles. Moby Sproles.
  6. I still liked it. At least those guys could beat some people.
  7. At least even us up with the compensatory picks we would miss out on.
  8. You got me there, I was watching the new HC as OC. Those play calls though.
  9. yeah, our new OC called gun short yardage dives twice in a row and it got stuffed. I was watching some TB games. You post like you haven’t watched that crap he calls a drop.
  10. I have never heard of anyone strengthening their throwing arm with weights. Possibly lower body could factor in. Matter of fact, I am not sure I have ever heard of anyone’s arm getting better after a person is fully developed. Which unfortunately he about is.
  11. Honestly, that ridiculous backpedal needs to go. Get up under center and start taking those drops. Damn. It’s absurd that a guy can be the number one overall but not be able to take a snap ands do a drop like a normal QB.
  12. I started to toss Kelce in there for laughs.
  13. Brady will pull a ton of women and casual fans, he is probably the most famous dude there is from the NFL lately, name recognition wise. Advertisers....
  14. I am okay with him getting all year, at least if they don’t bring in any competition. Which they won’t. Right now I think he gives us the best shot at the 1st pick for 2025, so don’t sit him. I want to see what the new QB whisperer does with him. If he can make him look good, it’s a great hire for sure.
  15. What will cost people the Superbowl is failing to cover Kelce. Same as last year. The best have tried. If they fail, Wilks won’t be alone.
  16. Jets scrimmage week. Exposed city. Whatever people were afraid of, was brought to light as real. I forget the timeline on the pads going on, and when the Jets things was, but the days with the pads, were Bryce Young struggled type of days, as I recall.
  17. If Frank wanted to do that maybe he wasn’t sold on either prospect being a franchise QB. Or maybe that was pretty early on, possibly before the trade up? If you don’t see the answer at #9, punting with a proven player is maybe the wisest move even though it is the least fun. Man, Tepper plays the game like a Vegas whale. A wanna be shark chasing everything that swims. and the flashier the better. And then you see the sow’s ear he came out of it all with, after all his maneuvering ... he just needs to get out of the player evaluation loop. Period. I have a proposition for people: give Dave the 7th round pick every year to take whoever he wants, and stay the hell out of it otherwise. Deal? Okay, the 6th round. You can have it, every year. Whoever you want. Deal?
  18. If people would only open eyes and watch him you'd see the issues people saw from before the draft. They haven’t gone anywhere. The fact that he is short as hell exacerbates them. People forget, but the talk started when the pads went on. He was not good. Go back and read camp stuff and see. There have been very few real positives from him. Growth? Well, he did take some snaps from under center as the year progressed. What else? A few plays that were excellent, out of the entire season. The best you are ever gonna get out of him is that point guard shite - tossing little improvised completions and depending on YAC, while facing a stacked defense due to not being able to offer a credible downfield Threat. I think defenses see any ’threat' as an opportunity to eat, in reality. It is why they dare him to do it. And people think ‘fast’ WRs are gonna fix that. It compares to Gettleman thinking tall WRs were gonna fix Cam’s throwing high. What this is about is two things, I think. Vision, and velocity. And can he somehow adjust his passing timing to be tighter, so the ball can beat the defenders to the target? He does not have that figured out. That is why he holds the ball and won’t throw it. He doesn’t see a completion there. But he has to start seeing them and throw the freaking ball. That is timing related. He has to decide to throw the ball sooner. I question whether it will matter if he does because his margin is so tight. The vision? It is a lack of it. Because of the height. I think he throws to a spot he visualizes in his head. The spatial awareness he possesses is great. But he can’t see and is guessing. How that resolves with the timing adjustments that must be stepped up at the NFL level will be the tale. I think it is too much to expect. So much has to come together. Good luck with that. As a footnote, I think anyone that wants to see what we should be doing, watch Dalton vs Seattle again. And he is ‘only’ a journeyman.
  19. If you are thinking about winning games with Bryce Young leading your offense? You don’t want to mess up your defense. But I’d be okay with trading Burns if you make sure you are going to replace him with comparable. I don’t think his production would be tough for us to replace. Who sees us being in shootouts or up big, where we are gonna be rushing the passer all game? It is a little less important however they go.
  20. Depending on if he wants to be on the team or on another team.... see what can be worked out. I would prefer to bet on his talent because we know what is there, rather than bet on another person we know less about. In the spirit of TD, stick with the kid - if he wants to be there - and hope he will reward your faith when the time comes.
  21. I’d like to have some show and tell. Especially from Morgan.
  22. If it mattered just a little in our process of failing at everything, I mean if not having him made that happen, I wouldn’t be happy about it. He is just sort of a sidebar. I was rooting for the 49ers for the first time in my life because of the ex Panthers out there. And because I can barely find a reason any more to have any pride in being a Panthers fan. Stupidest franchise in history.
  23. Gonna be a bunch of ‘we’ this and ‘we’ that until one of his spooks in the locker room tells him something then it will be all ‘you’ did this or didn’t do that.
