Bozeman had a baby, the wife did anyway. We forget that there are things outside the team that players have to deal with that does impact their football job. I knew he was gonna have a rough year when I saw that. Probably got zero sleep. Then goes to work where he has a baby he is snapping the ball to, and guys beside him that... well let me just say I don’t know if I have ever seen worse than Zavala. In general all you had to do is flip flop what gap you are rushing with your teammate and Panthers OL won’t touch you. Never seen such unintelligent OL play. I hate to say it but damn, Campen. That was a pretty poor job. I believe if they focus on the G positions Bozeman will be adequate for the rest of his deal.

There is a lot of stuff out there about what Canales did just last year. Reshuffling the OL is one thing I heard, I haven’t read much yet. I did see him claim they would have a good running game, they didn’t, really.

Breaking Down the Shrewed moves that Built the Carolina Panthers
strato replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Where is the 9th pick we gave up in all those names? Jalen Carter? edit: that trade, the farther you get from it, the worse it looks. Wait until the top pick this year does what he is gonna do. -
Yeah, I appreciated winning a few games and having some realistic hope to see a winning season as a possibility on a consistent basis. Which is not where we are right now. May be subject to change, but that will take a lot. My opinion is basically that the stuff that has happened since the ’22 season ended, shows that he was just never going to get this job.

I don’t think anyone who is rooting for Wilks to do well believes that SF going to the bowl is Wilks’ doing, and no one is saying he is Buddy Ryan with his D carrying a poo offense either. Shutting out a team that put 30 on you in a half, that is a good offense... holding them there is worthy of praise the same as giving up the 1st half is worthy of condemnation. Playoffs, the games are harder or are supposed to be. Again though, someone has to cover Kelce. I haven’t seen every Chiefs game but in the playoffs for two and maybe three years now, who had an answer for him? Mahomes goes to the bank of Kelce when things get tight. If Wilks can stop him, that’s a pretty good job.

Had only someone told Tepper about that S2 before that draft, who knows? I am not real bothered by this, if I am supposed to be. Just being on the board doesn’t ensure the player get picked, obviously. And you have to be at/near the top of the board at some point for that to happen and since the guy was the dead last pick, you wouldn’t think he was at the top of a list anywhere by anybody throughout the process - all the way up to that last pick. Should he have been? Even the 49ers undervalued him multiple times before taking the shot so I won’t use hindsight now. I’d bet some teams were disappointed he didn’t make the UDFA pool.

If those stats are right that is illuminating. I can only guess that it just looks lesser. Whether that is love for Ryans clouding the picture or what, unsure. I haven’t watched but a couple of SF games this year to know.
-
Wilks better find a way to handle Kelce. You know, I doubt he is bitter, more like relieved. If he paid any attention to the Panthers this year he knows he dodged a huge bullet.

What’s funny to me is, his friend stole the chance for his chip on my shoulder game against the team that passed you over. He has to be nice and not say fug them they should have picked me and I am going to show them.
-
I agree, it isn’t as if he is part of long term plans. Set him free if he wants to go, but to the AFC. The team should get some type of compensation if possible. Business is business.

Got it. I wish you’d have let that pass. Quoted that out of all of it. I guess it is you are 21, an adult in the eyes of the law. Cut and dried. Words aside, mentally mature doesn’t always go with physically mature. At the same time some of our players are not physically mature either, even though they are legally adults. So 22, 23? When the hell is it that you are an adult? I don’t know how to keep arguing it or why I would really. Let me try again: it is alleged that (many of) today’s players are weak minded spoiled/entitled people that still behave like children into their early to mid 20s. LOL That’s rough when I re-read it but is a mashup of characterizations I have seen floating around the internet in recent memory. Which I don’t interact with these people to even know, but I see a lot of talk about “modern” athletes that echo a sentiment similar to the one exhibited in Canales’ statement. I was lamenting that he has to play those games in the first place. Obviously he thinks he does or why go there? I hope that’s a better expression of my reaction to that part of his press conference statements.

Thew thing is that you ca\n say he made You are overlooking that the bloat to get the weight up plays a pretty big part in it. I know he was absolutely consciously taking part in the deception. . I know people accept this from the prospects for some reason I blame the Panthers for not seeing the reality that was banging on the front door, but no one was home. .

Okay the next time I have a chance I am going to browse some Bengals games.

Right.

I will always remember what TD’s forearm looked like for that Superbowl. That was real shame. That was first and only SB, and to have that happen. You knew he was playing, and you know it wasn’t the same as a healthy TD out there.

Young is gonna have to step up his pace drastically. Out every time in under 2.7 is what was stated. It will football geek fun/interesting to watch them assemble the WR roster. Both of our top offensive coaches coached WRs in Seattle. I saw all those lucky catches of Russell Wilson rainbows over the years. Bryce Young rainbows look about like Wilson’s ducks - so they probably know what they are looking for. I think at least two downfield jump ball specialists is what we need. And couple of cat quick short range YAC types.
-
I think I’d need to see how twisted he really is before making that call. edit: About Canales, I want to see what I expected to see last year. I mean, it is not the type of football I care about watching, but it would at least demonstrate they have an approach. That crap last year screamed one thing, we don’t know what to do with him.
-
We did all this crap with Bryce last year. People made every argument you are making. We saw the results. Some of us would probably appreciate it if you used NFL game examples to argue your tired ass case.
-
Oh y’all arguing the deception? There sure was deception. And it was as easy to see through as it gets. I don’t like that he did it, I don’t think it is becoming of him to do it. In my case he had enough points taken off already to make it a non factor. The Panthers apparently weren’t bothered by it. Just another reason to think they are total dumb asses, IMO.
-
Is that supposed to impress someone? What the hell does that mean? Being more accurate than Cam? Big deal.
-
They can fix the hell out of things though. And on time.

There is a lot of trash about he could sling it in college too. Or there was a year ago. Not so much now, most have run that college film route and retired it because it is useless compared to his NFL tape. What you will probably be able to see in those though, are bad OL and bad WRs and bad Reich and I am probably forgetting something. Point is, Bryce will not be named.
