  1. I feel like Tepper is a carpetbagger. I haven’t looked that up in a long time, and the way definitions ‘evolve’ nowadays I don’t know what they might say in a dictionary. But to me, he is a carpet bagger. Like, a post war profiteer coming in and enriching himself off the locals. I don’t feel a shred of loyalty to him. It worked with JR because from the start it felt like he was doing it as much for us as for himself. To me. If you remember the NFL no man’s land that the Carolinas were before the Panthers, you are probably going to be closer to my perspective than if they were always there. I don’t HAVE to follow them though. I wholeheartedly and strongly disagree with his plans and moves for the football side of it and his actions in general, and he is on real fuging thin ice with me.
  2. Sounds about right. If he wanted to go though maybe he won’t have a horrible attitude.
  3. He wasn’t happy with the QB there, but he is going to be happy with this one. That’s what people are saying. Good. The one here needs to be held to a standard and if we brought someone in that would enforce that, all power to him. Horses for courses.
  4. Using Theilen as a side dish rather than the main course might make a difference. But he did say that about the rebuild and I wouldn’t really miss him that much either.
  5. Sure he isn’t hitting the diminishing skills stage?
  6. This sounds good to me. One year will be plenty for what we really need him for. I hope he is like Smitty, takes no prisoners and demands you compete.
  7. That’s the biggest quality I’d be wanting right now.
  8. Well they are pretty obviously doing it for Young. The fact is it will (or is supposed to) help whoever the QB is. So that’s a plus, they won’t leave with him. I guess I am just tired of accommodating foul balls and mistakes because where the hell is a home run anywhere? Of anything that has been done for years. You would think someone could close their eyes and swing and eventually hit a home run. There have to be some and I am just pissed and forgetting them. Luvu? edit: and it IS important that the missed on Stroud. Especially if whoever did that is still involved in the decision making because that for sure was no home run. That poo was teed up.
  9. Commenting because yes it fits a pattern of impatient, fixated, single mindedness on the shiny thing of the moment. It is always all out. And then the 'kill a mosquito with shotgun’ result of that process. They have not been picking right at all, over and over. At the same time, you understand the need. It’s the heavy handed methods that they use just don’t feel that smart. I’m probably not saying that right. Anyone else see this pattern? It the same with the QBs for years. If it works great, of course, but they haven’t figured that part out yet. I came here not to say that, but to say this: Don’t count chickens. Mike Wahle Michael Oher Bad Kalil The OL upgrades don’t always take. Oher was good for some of that deal but it was mirage not too far in. Wahle was coinsidered a disappointment we expected a lot more. He didn’t bust exactly but he is here in the examples department. Kalil. He had one good season in Balt(?) His brother vouched for him. Couple of highly drafted guys... Otah is who we don’t want Ickey to be. Bruce Nelson was one of our highest drafted OL. Goofed on that one. I haven’t watched either of these new guys yet guess it’s about time to do that.
  10. They are gonna get this thing so stacked ands simple a high schooler could run it, it’ll probably make Young look just appetizing enough that they don’t change horses.
  11. Yeah, and losing does too. We have swapped a decent perch on a nice branch of a shade tree on a golf course for a flat rock in the sun down by the sewage treatment plant. Detroit has our perch now.
  12. MHS831 You wasted a lot of that on me, I am sorry. I really don’t care that much about learning about traumatized Walmart greeters. Or traumatized quarterbacks. Let’s go on and get to oh we ruined him - see David Carr. If if you are in to explaining things, great. Explain how they are going to run the offense this year. Any under center drop back game at all? I don’t see pace or tempo much with him where he can lock his timing to a physical move. It is sort of a leisurely meandering backwards. so if they ‘fix’ his footwork maybe so that he Can have some consistency and tighten up the timing, what’s it gonna look like? I am afraid it will be Alabama and I guess I might finally have a reason to look at his college tape here in 2024. edit: Raleigh panther I mini mourn YGM. Obviously he was a disappointment most of his time but I think he was finally growing up and getting it a little. We’ll see how he does elsewhere.
  13. You have more than a feeling. Oh well. We’ve all seen them play. I’m not seeing Brees’ arm at all. I remember him having a good arm until he got towards the end. Maybe not. Funny that I just read a Purdy comparison to Brees article. Let’s comp Young and Purdy. It is more trouble that I am going to, finding good info to reinforce my memory on Brees .. because of the overwhelming number of references to he can’t use his right arm any more etc, articles about his dwindling arm strength. I may look for some 20 year old video because that is what they are trying to do. I think I need to imagine Drew Brees in the Alabama offense.
  14. I am seeing it. They are overkilling the weakness. They have to be right, to start with, maybe they are. But this is like trading everything last year to fix QB and you saw what we got. A poor decision, a LOT of hype and they now have torn down the defense and are emptying the coffers to cover for it. So we’ll see. It was real fun buying some 1st day OL, for sure. I also know I love my defense as much as I love my OL. In a way this is like turning down two picks for Burns, it didn’t really cost us until later on. Like today. This is going to something we really pay for later. When we have no freaking D and a game manager.
  15. Pretty obvious it was needed, they are sort of typically doing overkill but I can’t complain about it. If you control the LOS you control the game. The drawbacks will come to me later, or are already on the roster. But a great OL.. please, pardon the mess.
  16. Well they are supposed to be ‘giving Bryce Young the tools to succeed’. Tearing down the defense is a good thing. This poo sound familiar?
  17. I could pretend I was serious and say yes. I thought hop throwing would give it away.
  18. Well, the offense can’t be expected to have Bryce hop throwing 20 yard deep routes to sub par WRs now, can it?
  19. Like the QB panic he felt and inflicted on the franchise, Tepper has some shiny WRs on his mind every waking hour so expect a relentless chase while neglecting other needs.
  20. Yeah despite the waste of a roster spot he is blocking for, you build up front. If you are gonna sign FA just make sure they can play. I really can’t argue the move that hard. It was not pre trade deadline 2022 any more. edit: absolutely the refusal of that offer was imbecilic.
  21. Yeah, we freaking know we are going to have to overpay. It was a certainty. *If you are gonna do it, put the money in the best quality product you can find. I don’t know, but the consensus (!) says he is a quality player. *Spending on a guy who impacts every play, = value.
