Bryce Young #34 on Chris Simms' top 40 list

Does anyone actually think Bryce will actually be good?

We should be expecting a fair return for the top shelf price. Which is a top shelf franchise changing player. edit: Honestly, I will never believe Reich chose Young over those other QBs, given the scenario. His background and history. I believe for some reason, he lied because he can’t say i didn’t want this kid. The QB he has to coach. I would just have to see him come out now post employment, and say one way or the other, but the ‘wrong’ answer would damage Young which he would not want to do, and he probably wants to keep being paid by Tepper so that isn’t likely to happen. -
Bryce Young #34 on Chris Simms' top 40 list

All the reasons he struggled, were addressed. New IOL, new skills, new coaches. All those things holding him back were fixed. Now we will be able to see his greatness. -

And he still showed more glimpses of special in that time than our boy did in 16 games. Bottom line. If they had only invested a 3rd on Young, my attitude would be much less critical. He needs to come out smokin’ afaic. -

I don’t remember Mills from the USFL days just when he was in NO. But when you saw Smitty it screamed oh yeah, this guy has something. Immediately. So, have not seen anything that dramatic with Young. All I know about him says he is solid with his character and smarts and don’t see a lot of that translating into screaming he really has something. I think the people that say he could possibly acceptably run an offense designed around him, with top flight talent in support, are probably about right. But I can’t see any Pro Bowls or lofty accomplishments in my crystal ball. -

I looked that Parcels quote up, turns out he took that from Ron Wolf the Green Bay GM. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10073242-hall-of-famer-bill-parcells-on-bryce-youngs-size-he-better-walk-on-water -
Seems like I notice a lot of questionable spots. At least, I feel like they are not rare. If that doesn’t tighten up, what are you measuring? Aside from that, I guess this could save a lot of time?

No, I didn’t. I am not really a popular culture guy, I saw a couple of clips. TBH he was probably very uncomfortable, I’ll leave that there. People liked Romo at first because he did a great job anticipating the plays and translating that through to his audience. Maybe offering a fresh perspective. I figured Brady might be pretty good at that type of thing too, bringing a QB insight into things. Maybe he just tells Gronk stories. And talks about how they did things.

Re Rattler: We probably could have done something to grab him and have the TE too. He was pick 150. But I didn’t expect it. If Canales truly can help QBs it would be a crime not to have QBs for him to help. -

I would have gone Rattler this year. Personally I don’t think it would take a number one pick to replace Bryce Young. But it’s Tepper so they would swing for the fences. I like the idea of at the very least take a Rattler type when you have the chance and just churn the QB room trying to upgrade it with every move. -
Brady will be good. Greg just really upped is profile he will probably get the top job somewhere.

I can’t see expecting that kid to run a pro style play action work from the pocket offense, unless you just want to definitively prove he can’t excel in that environment. -

forgot to quote: -------- are there joint practices this preseason? When do they announce that? edit- the jets practice was announced may 27 last year so I guess we will hear something soon Edited 13 minutes ago by mrcompletely11 -------------------------- Whenever it happens. I wasn’t trying to reference anything specific. Just that at some point that is gonna happen. -
I found a 40” vertical referenced.

On that, we haven’t seen anything yet that is absolute hard and fast. We have talk about 1 of 11, running the ball. Which does indicate a traditional approach. But they have to pass the ball and I would think you have to do something creative there and they know it. Or, maybe they want a square peg and are going to see if he can be that square peg and if not they are already to the point of if it doesn’t work then we’re getting a better fit to run it. Like now though, they have to do their due diligence and give him every chance (which they have for sure tried to do). The big time investment in offensive talent and coaching. They gone above and beyond as they say. I am here: Young was/is supposed to be ready to compete, on the level of Stroud. Better than, by where he was chosen. And Stroud didn’t take three years to show something. A year one ready guy should be completely proving it in year two. That is what we supposedly will be looking at. So okay, can’t wait to see it. edit: and we cannot see anything real until pads are used and hitting and real pressure are factors. -
I read what is out there, and in here. I was trying to be nice. He was rated 31, 34, what, recently?

I heard yall wanted Bryce to bulk up this offseason

The bailout to the right is gonna be feasted on if he doesn’t stop doing it, except on throwaways. Which I struggle to criticize, it is better than a sack or a pick. But way too many of them. It was like, 1st option. -
Man, no kidding. Saying his ceiling is bottom third of NFL QBs is just an opinion. It doesn’t mean that the person criticizing his NFL prospects want to end his bloodline.

They probably read yesterday and realize it is pointless, we are totally cynical towards their feel good optimism.

I can’t find video on it but I remember Gurley’s injury as a pretty bad one.

For Bryce Young and Dave Canales, the emphasis is on details

Yeah. It really is, not the NFL. -

Those Bryce hating clowns are really annoying. They are so stupid too, not thinking he is gonna be great. I mean, last year everyone said he was gonna be great and he would have been too except for everybody else sucked, what do you expect him to do? -

Furyk is weird. That’s a loop. A hitch. That’s not Young as a QB. I was raised in golf land.. the family business. Tiger was pretty classic. I’m not sure what the exact discrepancy in his swing was, pre and post intervention. I remember names of the top echelon coaches involved (Haney, Harmon).
