Black cat is real.

You can say that, I can say that, but how do you know? Do you think these guys understand what they need? Or do they not get it? We don’t know for sure if they get it.... But, I want to assume Morgan understands pro football.

Call me crazy, but we might have improved the pass rush after all

This kind of stuff is why stats can commit larceny. -
Brings up a situation that I think will be the dam breaker. All this investment into WR, has to give. They do this, and insert them into an ever changing environment where the QB is different, the OC is different, their position coach is different, and really the QB has historically in the Tepper years, been a project. Which one was not? As it happens the guys they hired have strong background with NFL WRs. So, good. Let’s see what we have.

I saw it. Hated it. Other people ranked it. Supposedly impartial. What do you want? Just use IMO and I would not say a word. I like you verge I just don't like whitewashing poo.

The OL was NOT the bottom group in the league last year according to whatever I saw, and it was brought up a lot and the PFF and other rankings were posted. Do better. Love you, but still. And if two years of propping up this offense at the degree that has been done, doesn’t get us seven wins.... wow. Talk about fail. I got no predictions, only faint hopes. It could be a lot better, it could be incrementally better as the year progresses - which would be what I look for as a positive.

Yeah. But there is a lot on the line, they are willing to spend, yet they went there. There must be something there...

NFL has truly gone national. Like, they are integral infrastructure to the nation. The government uses them and in turn they use the government. The government is reining them in a bit. I hope some of the everyday NFL dupes that were held over a barrell get some relief out of it.

You can’t go with a WR and ignore the QB but really, do people see anyone breaking out there? Maybe Brooks if the OL gels and he is healthy. I’m just going with Corbett. He does the job. Problem solved. If the O works it is because the OL works. If this OL works, he is doing better than anyone here thought.

If Bryce would ever get a fair shot, it would have not been picking him 1.1. The expectations are greater than his ability. He will never meet those expectations IMO. He wouldn’t be getting 20% of the crap he has gotten opinion wise if he were picked where his actual abilities slotted him. I do agree that part of being a great player is resilience and some of these past ‘ruined’ players had less than they needed.

Evero got some guys that he has time with. At worst it’s a quick patch. We’ll see but right now I don’t see his stock going down a ton even in a bad year. I expect him to have a good plan and be able to patch it the first couple three rocks he hits. Which is not easy to do. When Wilks was a secondary coach he did more with less, I see Evero the same way as DC as of right now. I hope they don’t get pushed around (up front). I expect to miss Luvu the most. Probably. -
If Johnson plays out there will be two trusted options. I’ll take that if the ball gets to them. I don’t know what Legette can do relative to hopes to do. But he can do something. TMJ and Mingo know some NFL reality early in their contracts. We’ll see how they respond. I’m real interested to get an idea of how they stack up the depth chart. and there are more guys with a shot to be the last slot.

He is a really smart player and pretty good hands. How much YAC was there for him? And yeah I know he is athletically past his peak. At the least, he served some kind of purpose last year that no one else was doing much of so I’m not worried a ton. If the QB needs him then you know, he will be there again, regardless. I’d love if someone beat him out, that is raising our floor which is about the first thing that we need to do. The HC and the OC too if i’m not mistaken went through being WR coaches as part of their OJT. So, helpful with evaluating. (I come back to it and see, we have a few guys to really look at).

Darn right. I don’t even get fancy, I just wait until the free replays are uploaded and keep my Sundays for things that don’t make me feel bad. And we are talking a speed watch missing nothing but filler that takes a little over an hour. Rewatch the interesting parts at your leisure. Listen to those balls quack, watch Icky play like he was a Washington General... all the quality experiences you hate to waste your day on, but don’t want to miss.

I love this. The NFL Corporation needs a lot of cutting down to size afaic.

It is what it is.

I mean, when I say improve, I am not expecting a lot. I’m, trying to be accommodating to the Bryce terrorists lest I get constantly harassed for stating what seems obvious (so I’ll just let it become obvious to them, eventually). I believe we are going to disagree for a little while about Morgan. If these guys have coaching savvy that draft will be okay. At least whatever we did in the first 101 picks, and not expecting 4 home runs because that is not realistic. I don’t know who you count out though, other that the LB. And Morgan played LB in the league and was good so maybe he knows somnething we don’t. Jets preseason week let’s see what things look like for some of these players - while also remembering we aren’t realistically competing for anything this year, and the new people are young in their jobs. players, coaches, Morgan.... because we really don’t know they are gonna be. At least the rookies.

I hear you. Tepper, as far as I am concerned, the worst is over with him. Maybe not but i have put the bar at a single season without him pulling a Tepper. I do believe Dan Morgan understands talent. I think Canales knopws what he wants, and I think they are two men that will be in sync which will really help things. Maybe I am a fool for thinking that anything will ever be better. I am giving all of them a year without bitching about them... in terms of they need to be gone. I am about to bail if Young sucks again and they don’t bring in an upgrade. Which, I would not release him after year two no matter what you are paying him anyway and will need a backup. Maybe he will be better, maybe they all will. I am not saying they are winning anything, just want to see the direction reverse.

Also, on the OL, and in regards to missing maybe on Icky, it has become very difficult to project college tackles in the NFL because college has changed so much the last however many years. I think what they did with the guards is what should happen with the tackles, we find guys that have proven adaptability to the pro game and just pay them. Draft them much lower, take your D line beasts and skill players up top.

I was looking at us last year and saying we were basically an expansion team (again). And worse than the ’95 team (which I didn’t say but hell i just was trying to be nice).

These are higher picks, easier to find starters, and I am gonna hold that the coaching was failing players. How many coaches and OCs have there been? So maybe things are a bit different with a unified staff. We will get to see how they (staff) do with the ‘failures’ that are not too far gone. Horn we know, it is injuries and it wasn’t predictable (like people may feel about the new RB). Icky looked really bad last year, yep he sure did. But not as horrible the first year. So we will see. Good lord I agree on Young being a huge mistake but they may be able to coach him up and scheme things to where he is maybe 50% of what was hoped for. These second round receivers, we have had crap QB play and that does not help them. The multiple OCs and HCs certainly doasn’t. I am just saying the players could have talent but the coaches we had were failing them and the QBs we had were failing them. Where was any continuity for these young players? That poo is very important. (and we know the don’t All pan out regardless of anything else) I have been a hard pessimist the last 6 years, and think they earned every bit of fail that came to them (and trickled down to us) , at the same time if you can’t think there could have been other possible outcomes with different people involved, you have out pessimisted me. That is a chore, congratulations.
