  1. Voting with that one. I think we looked at CMC for nearly a year after he was not a Panther.
  2. That’s true, I think. Or was it ‘should’? I’m not jumping off until it’s really a problem. Maybe it is maybe it isn’t. It wasn’t that microfracture stuff was it?
  3. Man... I have something for that but will refrain.
  4. Yeah. Agreed. But in the big scheme of things, if he works out there is a round difference and if he fails there is a round difference. At the same time he was part of a series of moves that worked out pretty well I think. I’d call the trade up putting some of your winnings back down. I would have gone Kamara (third round) in the CMC draft all day. I hear the people saying this was not wise. But again it is just one round’s worth of value. Probably not crippling. He may not be the best RB in the draft but they want pass catching too. They are trying to help the QB. If he works out it won’t be any kind of big deal. The only thing I get really upset about is future picks. Trading them for today. That’s when you have my unwanted attention for fuging up.
  5. If we get in an argument I am pretty sure I will offer facts and attempt to give reasons for my opinions. If I have belittled you personally in an exchange between us then I am sorry it is something I try to be better than. Now, disagreeing is not belittling it is disagreeing. Peace
  6. Yes! It is hard as poo already. So why make it harder on yourself with an outlier? That’s arguing the draft but it is relevant to his success or failure still today.
  7. Fair enough, we probably will never agree. I am with you on Canales. That’s about it. Brady had a good enough arm. Obviously. And yeah it was better. Montana probably is too slow to succeed like he did in the modern NFL. A lot of my take comes from the athleticism that has become the standard tin the league and I don’t believe the eras can really compare with mobile type of QBs in particular. And man the Brees comps, he is so much smaller. He needs to earn those comps. we’ll see.
  8. That and more. Because... I'll call them Field of Bryce Dreams If you criticize him they will come. I agree with a lot of what you are saying except for the personalizing. Him as a football player I am pretty much where you are. Probably don’t think he is completely unsalvageable but I don’t see a lot of winning in the cards. Did not want to draft him and was begging not to. I did not appreciate the deception at the combine but it’s the game they play. To me that is where the team needs to set their standards. That is who I would be punishing for that, they can’t see through that poo? Really? (I think they did see through it just like most people but it didn’t matter to them they had him at the top). edited lol I just saw you banned him. I guess he can still read .....
  9. NUMBER ONE: You are insulting people that you disagree with and should check yourself and stick to cases. You referenced someone as dumb earlier and now you feel the need to write me this condescending poo: Playing NFL QB isn't just dropping back and chucking the ball. NO poo! That needs to stop.; there is no need top resort to that type of stuff I am trying to be polite and respectful while stating my opinions but I can play that insult game if that is the way you want to doi it. Okay, to your substance: Please name these great players who had no above average NFL level physical traits, and if they are from another era, that would still be great in this era of pro ball. It is just a faster bigger game than it ever was. I keep coming back to someone that had a great career with maybe sub par ability and landing on Fran Tarkenton. I don’t know if it is the best comp, but I don't think he could succeed today. Please tell me what is impossible, that I am asking for. I don’t know what that means. I have posed possibilities and certainly posed questions as to how it could work as opposed to just flat saying it can’t. A plan that acknowledging his shortcomings and compensates through scheme to make it do-able with him. And you can’t do that until you see the real player. And he ain’t Gerno Smith, to back to what you had objections to my opinion in the first place. What’s your plan?
  10. I believe you are biased also as far as that goes. The other way. And it is difficult to have a Young conversation with you because you cannot accept anyone criticizing his football skill level. And it has zero to do with liking ‘him’. It’s football. edit: I mean, for real: What physical attribute does he have that woul;d be above average in the NFL? Anything that that grabs attention in the eye test. Something that gives him the advantage. Because I can’t find anything.
  11. I love Jake don’t get me wrong. I know what he was doing he is always a positive guy. And when you put Jake aside, there nothing else there. The whole thing was that it was a weak take.
  12. 32 teams, you don’t get much slack. I bet the 30-50 slots have a lot of yearly turnover. edit: well at least the team knew who to invest in between the two (Burns, Brown).
  13. All you have to do is look at Bryce on the field next to people. He should never be compared to Cam as a quarterback except by results. They are opposites. otherwise, almost. Look at how big the mic looks compared to his big head lol. And his hands, wow, huge.
  14. I get it. This is the action before admitting failure. Due diligence, whatever. You have to make sure. Canales’ 1st job I’d say. You put him to work. With Young I can see a path to .... something better than last year. How much is the question and it totally hinges on backing the defense off and making them defend more square yards. I should have said ‘primarily’ not totally. bearhands, that has always been the story. He doesn’t physically translate to the NFL, JMO. There are no above average physical traits and you have to have something that puts you in the game with these athletic freaks. I probably mark too much off for where he was selected.... but it pretty much stands.
  15. I don’t know how it will turn out but.. If the guy can’t shine, and they won’t move to replace him that would be a deal breaker for me. I didn’t agree to be a chump for 5 years over a deal I hated to begin with.
  16. Maybe two thrown drinks bad.
  17. We would need to have patience in the QB hunt. Thinking you could just buy your way out of it is pretty questionable thinking. No top 5 trade ups that cripple your next several seasons just to get that 'high hope’ harvest of one player from that year’s crop. Accept your draft position and be smart about it. One thing that would help is remembering you have hired, hopefully (that word again), people that can maximize QB talent. Maybe find someone he thinks he can unlock.
  18. Oh good. So we are 6 years in. I think that going one by one through their turnarounds would be educational. Some of those teams had decades of culture they had to reverse.
  19. Definitely don’t want to do anything that risks slowing his healing and mending, but when he’s healed it is important to get him in and get him through the period of mental healing and learning to trust the repair. Which seems to take a year for many of these rehabbed athletes.
  20. I am gonna be real disappointed if people rationalize themselves to satisfied with a top 25 player from all what we spent. Or at all.
  21. Looks like the reporter called Shocker 154 times.
  22. I don’t think I’ve seen a worse half of football by a QB than Mayfield had to open 2022. Listened to Person. Whatever. I didn’t hear a lot of hype, he said the team loved him personality and character wise (I am paraphrasing). Said number 1 in high school, 1 in college, the team expected him to do the same in the NFL. He said thye press was okay with giving Young a pass for last year, mentioned Troy Aikman’s rookie year and kept that honest by adding some guys have had bad rookie years and never had a good year. Stopped a little short of saying it was a make or break year for Young. Said they wanted to see improvement. ------- I say no telling the future for sure, but he has room to improve and still not be the guy. That’s how bad it was. He has to drastically improve and it has to show up in the chunk play department, and in the W-L department.
  23. Nothing that Jake said really supported what he was saying. Whether you agree or not, Verge did that. Jake is like, well Geno did great with Canales so Bryce will too. It ignores the experience advantage Smith has, and ignores his deep ball reputation. https://atozsports.com/nfl/seattle-seahawks-news/seahawks-geno-smith-named-best-deep-passer-for-the-2022-season-nfl-news/ PLEASE note I am not saying that doesn’t mean Young won’t improve but it’s a lazy job by Jake; the only real commonality is Canales. And Jake works for the team media so what do you think he is going to say, no comment? Haven’t watched Person yet.
  24. Let's just sticky that replay. So people can live in their happy place.
