You are gonna get unbiased criticism of the other team though. If someone impresses, they will say. You know, “damn, I told everybody we should draft this guy”. I think it is a great idea. I mean I read that site where Person described the Jets practice last year. When I heard people talking here, I thought it must have been a different practice.

See here it goes. Imma hold it in about a lot of that stuff you are saying... and just go: was that post weeks old? It affected me and I was not inclined to overlook it but also not inclined to go full high gear and I am not gonna do it now but man I think I could. I just looked. The thread turned two weeks old today, so conratulations on that photo finish on the plural correctness. Which I honestly did not realize it was that old. But, to balance that,.that may have been because posts were made in it this past Friday, and another couple of days later, and then I made a couple in there, unrelated to your post. About the Jets scrimmage. Just a couple of days ago. But I don’t think that I need to apologize for pointing out the hypocrisy there. And it was not just negative against a player it was directed at other posters, for the crime of whatever you think it is. People still read stuff and search stuff and it comes up and if you do not want something quoted in a rebuttal maybe consider that when you put it on the page for everybody to see. If people kept it to football I would keep it to football too. I thought I was already doing that, until I see personal stuff. Then, I see there are going to be times like this. I don’t think I need to ‘do’ anything, we can just disagree. All legal and fair. You can come back at me and escalate. Or not. edit: and I have a busy couple of days, don’t think I am hiding.

Number one: That seems logical. First time I felt like it made sense. Number two: I always thought Brown was suspect, I mean, he was a running back what the hell makes him the guy to unlock that outlier? I could never resolve him being a running back that had never been an NFL coordinator before. And now it just hit me. Tepper was probably trying to pimp another minority HC prospect so he could get a draft pick. Just like Evero. Who I am gonna miss. But he is figuring hey I have all these QB experts I don’t need another one at OC. I can stash this guy at OC and parlay it into looking really smart, on the back of my guaranteed success number one QB. And get a pick! (rubs hands on brass balls while emitting Gollum type utterings).

So hold them out of preseason to shelter them... great. That is some Black Cat poo. This is we can’t have nice things. We tear them up. And, another built in excuse.

It can’t have the Jets scrimmage in it. Only way I could take the hyped optimism is if the Jets scrimmage went well. And not Joe Person well. Actually well.

Would the Carolina Panthers move on from QB Bryce Young?
strato replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
if Young proves that he is going to keep playing small and coming up short of say, top 18 for this year (to be very generous), I actually think they should completely wipe the slate. Job is up for grabs. But he is still being paid a lot of money and cost us dearly and we should extract whatever value is in him, however it has to be done. It is 100% business at that point. I think what that means is you are paying that money, hold him to the deal and keep him on the roster. You bring in someone you expect to beat him out, that is your floor. Ceiling TBD. Either way the new guy is either given the job, or they open it to competition. I prefer a fair competition, but Bryce has had every concession and had no one to beat out and here we are. I reiterate for all the people that will be upset at this thought: this is in the event that he convincingly plays himself out of the job. If he doesn’t there is a new equation to look at. If he does okay, better by a little but not enough to seal it, I would still insist on open competition. Unless he just smacks all his critics down and removes all doubt. To me there is very high bar to reach for him to be the undisputed number one going into 2025. And either way whether all hands on deck we are going bear hunting, or whether it’s a lesser bet, we better draft someone that plays QB next year. -
He is just different. Doesn’t look like typical rangy number ones nor Smitty type. But he was thick and strong and didn’t mind putting his back into a block. And an excellent WR.

Would the Carolina Panthers move on from QB Bryce Young?
strato replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
heh if they do go back to QB search mode will it be like the coaching opposite thing? You know, players coach, disciplinarian, always to one extreme or the other. We’ll be scouting no one under 6’7”. And they have to be known to be dumb. But they can put a football into a coffee can at 50 yards. -
I thought there was a future for him, late bloomer but still very young for his experieince. He didn’t have Bryce level excuses.... but he had some. I guess we will see. Tough for the Vikings but at least they saw something good. So they can feel okay about what they have. Well, I heard... that he had a great debut.

Would the Carolina Panthers move on from QB Bryce Young?
strato replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
They want listeners. Slurping him was so 2023. Radio is so hard to listen to because they set up these opposite takes, even if they have to make up some outlandish poo. Not that this one is outlandish, but I haven’t listened. -
And your comment kicked it off bright and early. Are people not to ever counter that? Apparently you are missing something: If you want people to chill maybe don’t instigate by mocking them. Prosecuting people for doing something and then doing the same thing, there is a word for that. You can say what you want about any football poo as far as I care but when you ask for it by going after posters you might get a little back. If I were ever make fun of you, like say you are something bad or compare you personally to a turnip, or any other vegatable, animal or mineral, whatever... feel free to be pissed. You’d have reason.

Until people start throwing insults or throw out that SH, I don’t add the IT. The QB is the hub. Everything, offensively, connects to him. He touches the ball every play. The entire team is affected by his play. Every unit. You simply can not avoid relating things to him when you talk about football so if people have that big a problem dealing with ’the negativity', let’s just ban ALL discussion of Young, or the offense. No? I may be wrong but I think I try hard to be non accusatory towards some of y’alls favorite unproven player, and look for what the player can do and try and figure out how it could work. As opposed to just stating it’s gonna suck. Which is what I really think if I had to make a call, today. Some fans’ exhibit high sensitivity to non believers’ doubts. They are so hurtful. I’ll play the ‘maybe' game - watch how I present things, try to soften them to non lethal level I would not want to hurt anyone. And I do understand it actually could turn around. Doesn’t look good. But it could. I can sort of see a way to something. I predicted 6 wins lol. In writing. THAT is what y’all should insult me over. 6 wins still sucks btw and should not - in itself - buy any QB job security. To the attempt at being positive: let me tell you, seeing this being successful with him is not coming easy. The visualization, I try but it is just an incomplete picture. I am down to hoping the pros know how to see the whole thing, but those pros last year, had no answer. They were not novices concerning foundational football tenets (no matter what the excuse makers want us to believe), and we saw that whole thing. It wasn’t everyone but the QB. He has to fix that perception of him as overwhelmed. Which that is what I saw. Among other players who were also overwhelmed, but that does not give him a pass. He’ll get a pass when he earns one afaic. He has not earned one. Hope he does more with it this year. I could do another thousand word rant on the verbal attacks made simply because I had a question about whether Bryce could make it work at the NFL level with his arm strength/velocity. Or his height, or questioning any of his 5 tools, whether they will allow success in the NFL. .. before the draft. After the draft. All last year, today. His questions are yet to be answered on the field in any definitive way. But don’t bring that up, because that's hating. Incessant “find another team to root for”. People that wanted Stroud and he went off, no you can’t talk about it without getting that thrown at you... my experience posting and reading was you can’t say a negative word. Well you can, but here comes the posse. You guys forget that poo from the summer and fall of 2023. We are accused of hating Bryce the human if we question his football. People saying we are haters and “Bryce is my quarterback” how dare you insult him, makes not a single point and adds nothing. And that isn’t negative? It ain’t a one way street and people that see things the "we don’t see it” way are pretty damned sick of being called the problem... supporters of Young’s play are constantly doing the type of poo they accuse others of. Making it about Bryce.. Stating opinions as facts. Both ‘sides’ do that poo, not just one. Either you can discuss Panthers football from any angle you want, or you are limited to ‘approved’ comments. Sound familiar? For me, say anything you want, just without calling people names and denigrating them personally. For some that don’t know what I am saying: "that is a stupid comment” vs “you are stupid”. Use the first one. (if you must go there). I am not trying to make rules, just asking people to consider changing the behavior to a less personally insulting standard. 10-4 over and out

CMC may have pined for greener pastures. You have to do something then.

Yeah well that is not a surprise, most are fliers at that point. And if I wasn’t already behind from messing around the football internet stuff, I would look up the percentages of all positions. Intuition based on years of following says small school players in general live down there. They either have intelligence challenges, size challenges, they are missing or have yet to demonstrate skills in probably a couple of the ‘tools’ areas. Guys with discipline or maturity issues, down there. Non 5 tool players that have borderline tools on their best areas, down there. Undersized players that still show something... down there.

Yeah I would think they are doing what we wish our team would do. People say it’s sort of a fantasy to think that way but The Saints QB room beats the hell out or ours and it is done to that model. If they don’t keep Rattler long term they can possibly get something for him, depending on how he comes along. It is unquestionably the highest valued position. People fall not as much because their ceilings are too low, more that their floor is not high enough to bet on earlier. Buying the highest valued position super low, you have opportunity to profit. To me it is kind of like a small side bet on a huge pot.

Remaining schedule until the start of the season
strato replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol it was Wednesday the 14th. Good one, self. 15th is Thursday, tomorrow. The enthusiasm stands. -
I can see Tep now, all hopped up over finding his newest toy, pushing all the other hogs aside to be first to that trough.
-
Won’t argue that much, but no one down there has a recognized high floor. So you really have to look at that compared to just the one position. And see the difference. I haven’t done that work, but my guess is that more position players pan out into something usable than do QBs* but then you have to also figure in positional value. Wouldn’t you? (higher for QBs) edit: * which is something like taking the field vs one player in a bet. The real analysis would have to go by position and how often drafting that position was a success, right? And there may be a position that has the higher success rate in those late late rounds. I would probably guess kickers and cornerbacks, maybe a tackle you can make into a guard... something like that. But it could be QBs too.

Talking about gaslighting oneself.... if you did not close your eyes to it, you could see that here are examples of that all over this board. Just because it went the other way doesn’t negate those examples. Another one of that crew, did it in a camp day thread I think last week. I let it go but when you people start telling us what opinion we can express about a football on the Panthers, you are suppressing thought. And seriously pissing people off. I do not want grabber’s thoughts suppressed, or anybody’s. Let him spread his own seed and people can choose to agree or not. here is the other post I specifically remember just a few days back, and up to that point in the thread, no mention at all of Young, much less QB bashing or hating, so gaslight away I am not spending any more time hunting this stuff but will ask other Bryce critics to chime in: I am not making this up am I? And finally, the thread about hating Bryce. Who made that one? Getting on people for saying critical Bryce stuff. I think I only posted to defend people who had been in there saying critical things, but I knew that was also directed at me. Not cool. Cant take the heat, get him to be better and stop making excuses for him.
-
Of course, we will be labelled the ones who started it again. Despite Which will get overlooked.
-
Nobody that wanted to draft Young gaslighted themselves, right? Man I am LMAO at that one.
-
You think he is better than Stroud? How real is that? Imma fortune tell the hell out of something for you right now and we will see: some Bryce stan makes a hater comment towards Bryce critics, and the skeptics will be blamed for being haters when they counter.

Don't lump people together. Some are very realistic.

Panthers Practice August 12: Compliment Sandwich Edition
strato replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it would more accurate to put it like: Our government, such as it is, has not managed to engineer WW3 globally quite yet, but we are off to a great start and will keep pushing until we get there. Tepper nuked the fanbase already with smaller strategic strikes.
