  1. You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way. If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose. and I do mean everything. Draft, FA, all of it. And what was not done…. Same.
  2. Great minds.... I just basically posted that same thing. And yeah. I think NFL Europe was what they should have kept going. Warner, Jake, and probably others came through those teams. It gives them the global presence they have such a hard on for but keeps the talent here where it belongs.
  3. They want the easy path. That's what this stuff is. No one is placing enough of a premium on traditional QB play, so they don't worry about it. 'This play is designed to go to this guy. If he isn't open run around until he is, or just take off and get what you can.' sums it up.
  4. It takes time. Brady was talking about the colleges dropping the ball. NFL has too long relied on college. MLB has the minors, and college. In the minors the organization can set up a consistent approach at each level which you don't get in college. The push for athletic QBs has really changed things too. If a guy can run around and over people and throw a decent pass then you want him to touch the ball every play even if he can't read coverages.
  5. He’ll be fine on a winning team for a while, he is out of NFL Siberia and doesn’t want to go back. Which I am now lolling over talking about shipping him to Siberia before, when we are it.
  6. Let it all play out and if he gets through the year looking good we may see the usual stock rise. Like what happens for most of these QBs between the bowls ending and the draft hype build up that always follows.
  7. I was thinking post bye week too but maybe they dip his toe in the water first to get a little taste.
  8. When it is immediately apparent, and do I mean immediately apparent, that you have no way to stretch the field, you are fuged. We have been fuged since the first snap Young took. Never forget: Designated Hail Mary QB. What else do you really need to know? Designated QB sneak QB too but that's another issue. edit: so, yes Stroud compares favorably to Young and would on any NFL field with the same team around him.
  9. It will be proportionate to the amount of pimping they did for the player. Because it is about them being right
  10. I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses. Desensitized they call it. For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
  11. Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
  12. I get you. I saw him get beat and look bad, too. But he wasn’t doing it with $150 mil to the left and right. And we had just paid him. The cheapskate in me is like, don’t just eat that, make him the backup. The Bryce and him having trouble makes sense according the the Panthers way. Something you could fix.
  13. There actually was one, if you believe the value of all those picks is worth it. I think someone will bite on the top QB. I see why Vegas is mentioned but I wonder if Brady is going to have some influence there. And he just recently went negative on the college system not preparing their QBs.
  14. That's the type of thing I mean when I complain about the staff turnover.
  15. What's left? Sanders is a decent guess with Brooks maybe in the picture. Hmmm. Thielen maybe. I have seen someone say Clowney too.
  16. It looks like a real fan writing it. It is an easy thing to speculate on the face of it but they are both guaranteed deals and we don't have space to trade Bryce and take on something else. In the first place. When is the last QB for QB trade? I know there have been some.
  17. Yeah he could have a Thielen or Proehl type of career. Or better but that would be pretty good.
  18. Washington game, locker room comments, recap, it is to be found there. Something about can’t do people’s jobs for them…. that wasn’t about Bryce, my bad. I posted what you may be looking for in the other thread
  19. Game 2 Diontae and Thielen both were open and Young was not getting it to them. I’d have to watch it again to remember who did what but I think Diontae wouldn’t talk to Bryce, Thielen was yelling on the sidelines. Something like that. And there were post game comments about it. Thielen for sure was trying to deflect that it was personal with Bryce Young… also the throwing of hands in the air in frustration after being wide open and no ball, that was happening. The media video after the game, locker room and I can’t remember if there was a podium statement… but it will be addressed there. take it further when Young was benched the next day those guys could barely contain their pleasure. It was obvious they were excited to get another guy in that job who might be able to do it.
  20. Seems like they are doing that, which is why he is still not playing. I do want to see him. Gotta make sure he isn't glass ahead of next season and really even the trade deadline. For him, gotta have him get hit and hopefully see that his repaired knee is right so he can play freely without fear. Packages. Get him in a couple.
  21. Lot of conspiracy type of thinking going on in here. It's pretty simple. He had been grousing with Young, that we know of. He progressed to acting out. Then he did the acting out by quitting on his routes and poo with Andy, commenting derogatory stuff about he can't do people's jobs for them or something. Now we have Bryce playing, it wasn't going to get better.
  22. We're not even the Washington Generals, they can at least make it close.
  23. There is a Belichick clip out there from earlier this year saying that everywhere Darnold had been except the NYJ, liked him. Said he talked to people in Carolina and SF and they liked him. Obviously Minnesota does. You aren't going to win them all or be great every game against every team. Somehow we had to go from that and PJ and Baker to... Bryce. Oof.
