Bread and Circus. Tepper and Tepper.

You can make the case. It's unlikely they all shine, but even a couple of misses isn't bad.

Panthers add four more to the practice squad
strato replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
This has to be equally as weird as talking about Canales' voice. If you are talking week one, or say, week 11 or so. Deeper into the season to allow the new to break in... I think or at least hope to see a different picture than what we see with these new guys going into week one. Edit: There is new everywhere. I always overlooked week one. Well, until last year which was so far from good it was obviously hopeless. But now this is early with the conversion from preseason game 4 to Week 1. So I am looking to see what's going on week three. That's two games of film for DCs etc... -
Not sure of the context exactly re the 17-21 so am not hammering it, if that is an average or a floor, not sure. That might seem like a lot to a team carrying a 2 game shutout streak into the season. I guess it is a lot. I don't think it's enough. I'd like for it to be. edit: I know it's a new team, but it's fact for the books.

I am glad he is okay. Does TMJr have a good alibi? Motive ….. Okay for all the people that need to be told, that’s a joke.

I didn't say that either because I'm not sure what the hell that is. I regret making note of it.

That is true especially when he was young. (good one) He wasn't leading a football team full of male alphas though. Which was my initial radar thing it just seemed pretty striking to me. I've been supportive of him (Canales) pretty much at every turn that's just something that I noticed that stood out. I guess I am alone. So anyway, what it is, it's like Tyson; it doesn't matter as long as you do it to it.

I think it is lost to greed and modern lack of any moral character already, but that's a good point.

More like beers. I thought about it though and decided what I am hearing is Canales' high pitched tenor voice, combined with his hispanic accent or articulation and then plus wherever he grew up... that's the mix. And it sounds a certain way to me... No one else hears that? That's surprising to me.

I rarely watch college but was at a friend's where they have a couple of screens and saw a lot of the SC-ODU. OMG. I would be embarrassed if I cared. A buddy is an ex Gamecocks football player, I know he was miserable today. Most of it.

so are we done with the "answer is on the roster" era?
strato replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Free year afaic. Showing me something is much better than not, but they still get a year to get things figured out. In my fantasy 'I'm in charge' world. I'm definitely optimistic for the first time since they rejected Wilks, and it isn't because of the players. -

And I believe Morgan stated he wanted football players. Guys that love it. So we'll see. I think he knows what that mindset looks like. -
Some of those 30 year olds, the non special teamers are headed out of here after this season. How many guys that we can project as sticking for 2025 are 29 now might be interesting to look at.

Looking at the respective track records in the league, he may need Canales more than Canales needs him. It is going to be hard to separate credit if things are turned around. I mean the player has to perform but the scheme, players around him, his horrible 2023 mechanics fixed, lotta stuff. 1 of 11. -

It does seem to be marginally less mostly on defense. Although some positions were probably upgrades. Evero seems like his sum is better than his parts so if they can hang and not collapse, it would help. Thin thin thin. On offense it come down to making defenses play honest and to do that we have to get respect for the passing threat. I'd sure love to get to the point that we could knock a team out of a playoff spot because that's about the highest reasonable goal I will go for. That's probably not a 4 win team doing that, it is watchable ball. -
If I must explain my Riverboat negativity... Ron said some non football things that bothered me, and I lost some respect for him. Best leave that there. I think he was basically unfairly criticized for some of the Cam stuff, but he was done here before he was gone, to be honest. He wasn't very effective at the end of his tenure. He had a stellar history as a DC. Can't take that away from him.

You know what? I apologize for calling you the worst poster. I probably hyped that one a bit. But you attacked me, I didn't start the poo with you. I am done if you are.

It's the Practice Squat. Couple of days, time to go.

You aren't going to see me in the gym. Why would it matter to you if I think his speech is not masculine? Does that threaten you? Lol And man, you are seriously one of the worst posters here. I did not judge him on his voice I clearly judged him on his merit as a coach.

I think we agree.
-
I'm sure you have your reasons.
-
I think he sounds feminine when he talks, it creeps me out a little, for football is masculine poo. But I also think he is going to be really good once he gets his 'sea legs' in the new job.
-
oh boy can't wait to hear his insight.

As was said: makes guys better. That's a really big one. And burn some defensive backs. You normally have to make the defenses fear someone getting behind them. It gets a little easier when they do.

I predicted 6 before we saw Young do anything, fwiw.
