It was the first SB run, and nobody really knew who Jake was… and bang there he is a ball of energy and winning. It was great. I certainly enjoyed 2015 but 2003 was my favorite season. I mean that was his first time on the field and they just tied it over 20 years later. it was really something.

I mean, the overriding point might be that Bryce is closer to Clausen than Cam or Jake. And we see that correlating in the performance of the WRs with Bryce. If we could only have an NFL average passer everyone would be able to see this. Edit I should have put that last bit differently. If we had the opportunity to slot an NFL average QB in with these same WRs we might see a difference.

That is a shallow contention on one point, omitting the context that Olsen was sharing targets with Jeremy Shockey. To imply that Cam didn’t help Olsen be the player he was is not really being straight up I ain’t even looking up LaFells NE numbers but was he playing with Tom Brady?

I was trying to be cynical. I would rather he have been here too. But if he didn’t want to be here it’s just better to move on. And we got a little something back for the future. He missed a lot of time last year and is another year older so we don’t know if would have even held up - the point being Bryce was going to learn to operate without him, probably at some point even if he had stayed.

I don’t think anyone is Upset because it was a win. Whoever is hardcore tank ‘for the high pick, wouldn’t be really happy. And I get that. I want a high pick because I don’t view the team as a playoff team so the best outcome for the future and not today’s gratification, is get the highest pick. Yet I still enjoy not losing. That said I haven’t looked forward to a win with true enthusiasm for 7 or 8 years at least and the last few years I expect a loss. I have numbed that part of my brain

The thing about top drafted QBs is when a guy looks like a sure thing, the teams aren’t letting go of the pick. So it is luck of the draw if you do or do not get that lined up. The only time it makes sense to draft a guy is if you are really positive about him not because you are under duress due to a dire need. That’s like being at the bar at closing time and you haven’t hooked up - you might settle for something you want to chew your arm off the get away from in the morning.

Yeah. But avoiding the negatives and sweeping them under the rug for the good feeling of a win is not going to solve those things and they will bite you in the rear. I can’t decide whether replacing him gets us into the playoffs so suffering through one last season is the price for freedom in 2026. Three ways to be free in 2026: He actually plays like a real NFL QB, The team sends him packing. Be completely out on tne Panthers until changes are made.

T Mac is exactly Bryce’s ‘speed’. He is a real good match for his QB.

Yeah we delusionals will tend to chirp over what we see as specious claims. I don’t think claiming that the receivers can’t play up to Bryce’s arm which is more or less what I’m seeing, is accurate. But that also doesn’t mean I think they can’t be improved. You guys just blot the actual deep game out of your consciousness to compensate down to his level.

Well yeah but his arm is not unique. His mix of size, running ability and just being to deliver the blow which QBs just don’t do. Or didn’t. That is what separates him. I think. Passing wise and in particular deep ball wise there are other players that can pretty much make those throws. The velocity was major league with him but they can get a lot closer to Cam than Bryce can.

You are trying too hard. what I mean is, the dimensions of the field are the same and it kind of stops there.

That comeback on Sunday, I mean I downplayed it relative to the record it tied with Jake’s debut game. But it means a lot to this team. Maybe it helps them come together and play better going forward. We’ll see. You get the team built up enough, we could ascend quickly with the right QB in place.
