RE Baker, he had a little something to do with how he played here. I saw him. He needed some more time to work his stuff out but didn’t show much here at all. That opening quarter against Cleveland was as bad as a QB can play. I have seen enough bad QB play to know. I was wrong on him though. Didn’t really want him here, I underestimated him.

Seems they have owned us, historically, in the regular season. I can’t see this beating 2015 regular season or or the TWO playoff drubbings we handed them, but it goes a long way towards getting even for the past ownage in season. I mean, they beat us in 2003 regular season iirc even though we beat them in the playoffs. They haven’t sent us home yet we have them twice and Luke just destroyed Romo’s lil comeback. Those beat today to me. But today was nice.

I love it too. The context was someone dunking on people as if Bryce cemented his status with this one game. I think that’s his ceiling, the edge of his envelope. And he hit it or close. He played to the best of his ability today. I was not trying to do this, I said nice things only… but the deal is in reality it is his floor that he needs to clean up. He has some really bad days. I loved that total team win today. There were so many contributors from the supporting cast. For RICO lol. The defense stood up against that offense. Very satisfying. But for the team -not one guy. It was great, best game in years for me. We hung in a shootout. A mini shootout. People are sniping, and I believed it reflects on them more than any ‘haters’. Who behaved fine today afaic

60% of the OL is backups. Running the ball is playing to avoid their likely weakest traits.. So that was wise, and RICO makes that an easy decision with what he has been doing. WRs are blocking, OL is handling their business; it is what you like to see.

This was his 23rd game as HC and play caller and the place was completely dysfunctional. He was last picked, after no one else would take the job. He for sure had a lot to learn and still does. But we should have some perspective on it. He was not likely to come out smoking. The team is improving. I think people ought to let the season play out.

Was thinking that too, it is getting a little tougher. There probably will be games this year that are predictable but you can’t go the same every week and make out.

I was thinking in the 4th that they had it pretty close. Did a good job, the points were in line with what played out except we got the one stop in the 4th. It was hard to pick Carolina against the league’s best, or one of them, offense. With that, they came awful close.

This class has the goods going by these first few games. Have to sustain it to confirm but it is a welcome change from recent seasons. NFL fuged the preseason up. You have to see the depth so you can make good decisions. I don’t see how you can work the 1st teams enough to get honed and do your depth evaluations too. For a team in our situation, not expected to compete for much, I think it is reasonable to take care of your depth evaluation in those three games and do the best you can otherwise, using the first couple of weeks of the season to hone the 1st teams and shake them out. It is different for different teams but this has messed with the routine they had. and is why we see so much more bad football early in the year. IMO.

One person earlier in the thread said something about the INT. No one else was doing any of that. But you know, it is always the ‘haters’ (stupidest slang word going the last few years]. What people hate is people that point out his issues, and they don’t hate his issues, they hate people seeing and pointing them out and messing up their little safe space.

You are a constant one note deal. I didn’t say a word about him being bad or whatever and just before your criticism had said it was the best win in years and I really enjoyed it. You ignore that to pick at people. Go bark up some other tree. Edit I had also said earlier that he had played a clean game and about as good as he could play. Credit. That doesn’t crown him though he needs to follow through and make these type of games his standard performance.

It was *today*. I already said I don’t have anything bad to say about him and have not said anything bad about him. People want to dunk on one game against what has objectively been judged a horrible defense. I love the win.

I have nothing bad to say about him today. Let’s see what happens I. The next several weeks when we get into the tougher sledding. The run game was so excellent, Dowdle is smoking, and Nijman didn’t hurt us.
