It is a lot of the mentor thing. It is a lot of the comfort level the staff had with him also, probably, but I believe what is behind it for real is they don’t want people chanting ‘we want the backup‘ in BOA. And they way the QB has played at times, if they had a promising younger player there that would damn well happen. Fortunately for ownership the team and Bryce have done well enough at home this year to keep the wolf away from the door in that regard. In fact, having seen Bryce play as poorly as Andy, he was ‘fortunate’ to not be thrown out there yesterday. Because that was a much better team than we have been facing plus it looked like Shaq knew everything that was coming. It could easily have been the same type of result if Bryce was in the game.

Out of pie so must quote and agree. Yeah those are the constraints. We really need that situation to resolve itself.
-
I don’t think people think it was Bryce’s fault that Andy sucked, but more the reason Andy is here is because of Bryce. And certainly that wasn’t Bryce’s decision to make but people feel like they have been coddling him and that is part of it. So it gets taken out on him. Same way I took it out on him that we put no assets into the defense and let it get so bad. Anyhow damn, Andy,s biggest asset is his experience and he folded like a scared rookie. I didn’t know for sure about his physical readiness but I felt completely comfortable with his ability to ‘field general’ and read and react to the defense. I wonder how much Shaq was able to undermine the checks and tell them about what was coming but that doesn’t excuse the bonehead play of the QB .

In a sense they are, It goes to why we have this QB and why there has been no competition brought in to challenge him. We all knew that we were settling on the HC, hiring him on early in his career because we were getting shunned by the qualified candidates. So there is something to overcome there. I think Morgan has done a pretty good job considering the constraints are likely placed on him and the team around him there is looking promising but the problems are pretty much all stemming from ownership.

Yesterday was predictable and some predicted it. We were due for that bubble to pop. We were outclassed going into it, coaching staff and roster both. It doesn’t feel that bad when you predict it but when you have to watch it In real time it is extremely deflating. -
Yeah. When they have the victory pie threads you see people saying what I said. There is a limit.
-
I said that too, elsewhere - last week and yesterday when it came up about maybe he wasn’t 100% because he didn’t look that good. I don’t know how you watch Rico dominating two consecutive weeks and don’t be scared you are getting Wally Pipped.

No pie left but this deserves some. Yep. It’s like if June Cleaver was the coach. If anyone remembers her. And I just left a comment elsewhere about the lame ass softball questions being asked instead of some of the questions being asked here. Someone needs to sneak into that media room and get the mic.
-
These questions…this and other people’s, got me picturing a comedy skit where you have the post game with all these reporters asking their nice softball questions and a fan snuck in and got the mic. And started asking the real questions. Because there are some real questions that are not being asked of these coaches - and players too.

poo has gone insane. NCAAF is badly broken.

Love the picture. The season was was declared terminal in 2023 afaic. But we have gotten some good evaluation of some young players. -
After we release Dalton tomorrow, who do we sign?

The fear is that they see it, and have seen it but are overruled. I think they should have seen it like, off the bat. -

It is sad that you have to clarify it is sarcasm. -
That looks better than I expected.

That’s a problem on top of a problem and yes I was also saying something that had that excuse word in it because of this situation. It’s real.
-
It is just like if we brought a QB in and he made Bryce look like he should be demoted.
-
There are ways to deal with the contract and some team in need may not be able to be picky. He hasn’t looked that good this year but he has produced in the past, pretty consistently. After today I wonder if we could trade him for a guard with a similar contract or something.
-
AR taking himself out for being tired? Kind of scary.
-
Well we have these games for it to play out how it plays out.
-
That has to be water under the bridge at this point. Just hope they learn from it. I have always said I think that was maybe a mandated thing. Not specifically take him but you help Bryce at all costs, priority number one we can fix other poo later. But that doesn’t matter anymore either.
-
I think you have to look at Brooks as a non factor. If he comes back and proves he is, it’s gravy. But you can’t count on anything from him.
-
That’s where I am falling on it, in the practical clinical view. Take the hit on the smaller return you get from Chuba. I don’t think it will happen though PS even if we don’t have Brooks, we got Rico for a pretty decent price and there are running backs out there. Rico is doing the role they got Brooks to do, being another good option in the passing game

I am fighting liking him because I do. I think if he had the tools and was a bit bigger so he didn’t have so much to work around that he could be perfect because I love his attitude. I said this last week. I don’t want to like him personally because I think I will have to fire him and I won’t want to. Have to stay detached.

Allow me to clarify as I am sure you don’t catalog everything I post but there is some qualifying that statement that was done. I think the Dallas game was his ceiling. He played well for the whole game and didn’t phuck it up and contributed some nice throws. What he hasn’t done is follow that level of performance with a duplicate. And that one with another. No consistency. He is up and back down to date and that is clear as it can be, there should be no arguing that from anyone. He is a roller coaster. 2023 Green Bay, very promising. Followed by two shutouts. The end of 2024, followed by the beginning of 2025. The best stretch he has is 6 quarters, 2nd half Miami and the Dallas game. MAybe there is another 6 quarters somewhere but that is it. So I am looking for him to hit his ceiling and keep that floor a lot higher in this stretch of games.
