  1. I would say that about the NFL in general. It is uncanny how Vegas can set the outcome.
  2. I thought better of leaving my line about the town slut in, and omitted it but I am with with you there.
  3. I was afraid you would use Herm to miss the point, but I risked it because despite his record he was 100% right on that one. Congratulations.
  4. panthers are giving a point in what I saw. I would say they cover a point but it’s the panthers so saying it with money, maybe I’d just pass.
  5. I would say this about 2025, after #8 Tepper really didn’t exert much influence because it was defense and he isn’t fixated on defense, he doesn’t think it sells tickets.
  6. Good lord. I don’t think I have ever seen a hole that open.
  7. I will simply counter all that with: you should always strive, at every turn, to avoid indoctrinating young players into a culture of not playing to win the game. Come man, that is an egghead academic approach that ignores the human element. it looks good on paper. Maybe. In the voice of the great Herm Edwards: Hello! You play to win the game. I completely understand the need but that is not the way….
  8. IIRC one of the reasons the took him was they thought he had a brain in his head. And he was a captain in school which indicates some leadership qualities, ie a certain amount of intelligence.
  9. In his case, based off of last year, more like how they could best work around him. But he is finally getting it in forward gear a little. Glad to see it.
  10. I hear you but they are coaching to win the game. You start unnecessarily taking risks you introduce a few bad outcome possibilities. His ball security is poor, to start with. And we had Nijman at ROT. A strip sack, an int, just a simple loss of the down due to a missed connection, could change the outcome. You don’t fug with maybe throwing the game away just to practice stuff. It’s coming. It has to be coming. That box will be stacked with players who can win the down, soon enough. Then I hope we see some of what you are asking for.
  11. I saw a video on YouTube that had every offensive snap. Including punts and coverage, and the placekicks. Worth seeking out.
  12. Apparently it wasn’t necessary. So, they get a pass. We have some defenses coming up that will challenge that type of plan.
  13. No doubt. And woe be to anyone getting in the way of his willing his decision into success.
  14. They are in shambles, I didn’t watch it but I read about the doings, where they are about to mutiny on Glenn. Glen. Wtevr Wilks’ unit seems to have done their part. I haven’t really looked at them yet. I’ve fallen out of the habit of scouting the upcoming game because it was a waste of effort the last few years These overseas games with no home field, that damn crazy round trip travel, can’t be a positive for the following week. Or that week.
  15. Some of these grades are inevitably inexplicable. In his case I am guessing the lateral may have pissed someone off. I think they really need to revamp their criteria for running backs. That is lower than last week for the game’s MVP. It seems as if the OL doing their jobs (which they did very well) takes away from a RB killing it. That is not right IMO.
  16. Game managers, in the traditional non flattering context, are placeholders. Pretty much. And represent the mediocrity that Big Tep swore to ban from the building
  17. Too risky for the franchise QB Tepper thinks he has. Or thought he had. And may again think he has. Bryce is a week to week weathervane. one week it is gentile south winds, the next week cold Canadian Football League winds.
  18. The whole first year was putting those inflatable bags in place, that they use to get boats off the bottom. Works for millstones too.
  19. Yeah you have to be a real Grinch to watch that and not feel something. 24 hour rule. Then I go back to perfectionist, super realist mode.
  20. Yeah everyone is saying that and it is logical. Rubber meets the road at that point with Young. And the OL subs.
  21. That is the uncomfortable part of the truth, but I am going soft on it because we have seen similar scenarios where we didn’t do poo against bad teams. And we are still in tne 24 hour rule window, and people’s feels are so fragile.
  22. Clearly the theme year one was offense. I think Dan would reasonably defer to an offensive specialist in that scenario. Year two Dan got to do his thing mostly. Seems like ‘keep it simple stupid’ KISS or Occam’ Razor in action, when looking for the key to the ‘why’ of things.
  23. I always looked at that through the lens of a mandate to make the QB not fail. That was Job 1. The highest priority when considering a decision. I was a Ryan Khalil fan, he was a great asset. As such, I’m a fan of having a quality C (my dad was a C in college, too so it comes with the genes I guess). The catch that I saw was simply that they did not want to have a rookie learning curve there with the QB being so much in need of support. Don’t put too much on Bryce’s plate… get him a pass catching RB instead. All about propping up the QB. I wouldn’t say I defend the decision, more like I see the thought process behind it.
  24. Yeah. I though that high value placed on a pass catcher at RB showed what Canales thought was necessary to help the QB he had. And what separated Brooks from the pack, to him. That was a Canales pick more than a Morgan pick, in my mind.
