This was his 23rd game as HC and play caller and the place was completely dysfunctional. He was last picked, after no one else would take the job. He for sure had a lot to learn and still does. But we should have some perspective on it. He was not likely to come out smoking. The team is improving. I think people ought to let the season play out.

Was thinking that too, it is getting a little tougher. There probably will be games this year that are predictable but you can’t go the same every week and make out.

I was thinking in the 4th that they had it pretty close. Did a good job, the points were in line with what played out except we got the one stop in the 4th. It was hard to pick Carolina against the league’s best, or one of them, offense. With that, they came awful close.

This class has the goods going by these first few games. Have to sustain it to confirm but it is a welcome change from recent seasons. NFL fuged the preseason up. You have to see the depth so you can make good decisions. I don’t see how you can work the 1st teams enough to get honed and do your depth evaluations too. For a team in our situation, not expected to compete for much, I think it is reasonable to take care of your depth evaluation in those three games and do the best you can otherwise, using the first couple of weeks of the season to hone the 1st teams and shake them out. It is different for different teams but this has messed with the routine they had. and is why we see so much more bad football early in the year. IMO.

That doesn’t crown him though he needs to follow through and make these type of games his standard performance.

It was *today*. I already said I don’t have anything bad to say about him and have not said anything bad about him. People want to dunk on one game against what has objectively been judged a horrible defense. I love the win.
