Pro tip: stay away from the Bruce threads.
-
That is not wrong and I am really not taking a firm position but the Steelers was week 1. Notorious for having unpredictable results. Performances. Good and bad but mostly bad. The game against Tampa looks to have been a really solid effort. It is the NFL and still ‘any given Sunday’ applies and yep we are the Tepper Panthers so that goes double.
-
Well it is the Tepper Panthers after all, confidence is fools gold more often than not. That team imploded Sunday during and after the game. I bet that overseas flight home was fun. It would take a very unlikely week of work and kumbaya in that locker room to reverse the locker room/HC dynamic and restore them to pulling in the same direction This definitely falls into the category of a game we should win. That too often we don’t do what we need to do.

Eight of Bryce Young's nine wins have come off game-winning drives
strato replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know you are talking about my post. You are playing your typical game. Twisting it into something and then attacking over it. The straw man. There was no statement made that it was Bryce’s fault. None. We are three years into the hole created by dropping 3 years of top assets into a ill advised course of action that he is the centerpiece of. After an interim coach went 6-6 and we had a QB that has played far better than Young and probably will continue to do so. We spent those assets on a guy that has produced two excellent games in his career to date . Every other game he had success in was a good quarter or half or even a single drive at the end. It is Tepper’s fault for picking him and for generally ruining the franchise. -
I don’t know about the college but that is very rookie drafted since Tepper bought the team. That stuck anyway.

It is what it is. Could be a reaction to to mirror behavior of the pro Bryce people where everything good is because of him and everything bad is because he has no help. -
He was good Sunday. But that was with us dominating in the run game and really not under much duress. Start to finish his most consistent effort in his NFL career. The bar that set is so high compared to his typical performance. And again the conditions were ripe for him to succeed It was like, okay great but you need to do that every week. Abd he will never have the gun I consider essential to make people defend the whole field. So we’ll see.

I haven’t watched either. Planned on it Sunday and two places I wanted to go were both closed. It was the nor’easter slamming us hard here on the coast and I just went with the radio and the game thread. you can find every snap by Sunday night anyway. That is my MO since last December. Radio broadcast was great. I missed Greg Olsen but wasn’t getting that in a bar environment anyway. That was the best game in YEARs. Even better than Andy vs LV which to me had the top slot for the Bryce era.

Years of Fantasy Football and people bring fantasy GMs If I get a guess.

A bunch of stuff that wasn’t his fault lol. -
He said he called for it.

I think he has underperformed his draft position. Doesn’t mean he sucks but I haven’t seen what I hoped to see. I guess let’s put it that way. I don’t advocate adding LOT to the needs list. It is a tough one.

It’s time to discuss DANimal Morgan as our GM
strato replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has actually done better than I anticipated after his camp and preseason and the opening two games. When you have Tet and Rico is rolling like that he just needs to keep on blocking. There was a play Sunday he could have scored on with one block. It didn’t happen. Yeah he has work to do but I’m not freaking out over him yet. I would like to point out that people who are slow learners can still be sure learners it just takes them longer. -

I suppose given his selection slot he could be called a great pick if he develops. We are spoiled with 1st round MLBs. -
Can we go back to square one for a minute and remember what we paid for this guy and how he was sold? He was like, the anti excuse. Makes everybody better, Did we get that? I think the answer is still coming but so far you might can say that for a game or two. Cam had issues with personnel every season almost. Horrible OL, but he had receivers. Decent to good OL no receivers. Etc. Bryce needs to stand up, or keep standing up, however you want to put it. It is big boy time in year 3. He doesn’t have to make the playoffs but there is a standard. We’ll see what happens. But the excuses are just fuging tired. ps, I mean let’s not crown him when he has franchise record production in two wins,.. let’s see when they stop that, how he does then.
-
It does vary, and depends on their health and other factors. I mean you really can’t look at the schedule in August and know what you will be facing mid season or even early October. Pick a month. Any time because stuff happens. It is any given Sunday relative to that. Early this year, KC was beatable. Will they be in December? And we don’t know if they’ll be motivated, or out of it. One team, that is likely a different team in 10 weeks. That’s an example of what I mean. Far as “decent” we know who the good teams are. We could hit a good team on a bad day, and we could have a really good one. It happens. All I’m saying. And I don’t expect it not to, for random teams. That’s about it. Predicting wins is an imperfect pastime.
-
We could beat a decent team if our QB had a career type day and theirs had an off day. You just never know.
-
Or fug something up and blow a close one at the last minute. To me that is even more Panthers.

Blitz Shaq blitz Shaq!

All I know about Rhule is thank God he will never again be a Panthers coach. Sorry but college coaches without significant NFL experience should be off limits.

That was last week it was the guys from ESPN radio - the team with Chris Rae I think and the bearded dude with little head hair. I don’t follow them I just saw it on YouTube Their postgame said the press box and everyone on the stadium (lol) had him fired. And the rest of his teammates “saved his job”. That is what they said, you can probably find it. I am quoting 8 days later I may not be perfect word for word but that is the essence of their message I didn’t hear anything like that this week.
-
I think he was hired as HC in San Diego a few years back? Everyone used to dog him and then he got named HC. Lol worthy.
-
Only justification I would accept is if he was doing damage to the top pick you have at QB.
-
My opinion on the edge rusher lobbying here is we need to give these guys the season before even thinking about it. We cannot get to a QB before some TE or slot guy gets open vs our ILB when they need them to. I would wait on edge and focus on a stud to play next to Wallace or whoever
