Miami GM was fired this morning.

I am betting on Canales being handicapped. He has made some progress with Bryce but the limitations are real. Re Canales/Morgan on the general personnel questions I have been working under the assumption that Dan probably knows less about offensive guys particularly WRs and QBs than Canales and the decisions default to Canales unless Morgan feels strongly about something. In which case he probably has the upper hand A major decision like Bryce’s status/future is probably a big powwow thing and Tepper will be consulted as well. My guess only.

I remember. Brooks was okay. But Jake turned out better. Our gain. Imagine if Rodney Peete hadn’t stunk it up vs Jax that day.
-
And Jake sat in New Orleans too. Probably got outshined in practice there too.

Kaye: Panthers not likely to be "sellers" at trade deadline
strato replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I didn’t think you could really trade an injured player. I can’t know, but can’t dismiss Chuba possibly being less that 100%. Although, if you have no intention of trading said injured player, you could use him to spark discussions with teams that may lead to another player entering the mix. Technically. edit: yes it would be foolish to put any value in Brooks. He is pure gravy if he happens. -
I don’t think he does, but I think they think he does. Someone does. edit: I think it isn’t even that, that is just what they use to keep from saying the real reason. Which is shielding him from competition or perceived competition and keeping them out of a QB controversy situation. Which could blow it up.

If you want a better return, you act like you don’t need to sell. -
I am surprised we have clawed our way back to almost level in the 1st quarter.

A pick like that would allow you to package it to move up for a player. Say someone in the 2nd you really like slips into the third but you know won’t last and you are picking 12th in the round. There you go, give your third and a later pick and get your guy. Currency is currency. I don’t think this is happening though; anyone that wants to trade for a RB will want Rico. Of course you could use Chuba to leverage more for Rico. Say no way you are trading him but we’ll trade Chuba. Make them talk you into trading Rico.

I fine it odd that this would be a thing and just a week later he is on the block. Was Chuba being forced into more carries to showcase him? Conspiracy theorists come on down.

ESPN's Trade Deadline Primer: Panthers
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s when you get into essentially buying a draft pick. They make the return worth the financial grief. -
The guy that picks against the spread, that always comes out behind, picked the Panthers.

I was with you until that. I have to see that.

Panthers Sign QB White to roster; Christensen on IR

I thought Andy had a stroke. -
Always good to clarify. Here is the thing, his best games are not as bad as some make out but his bad games are bottom 20s worthy. So he needs to stop that or he won’t be worth even finishing the contract. Which I know is guaranteed just sayin. I think he could play his way out of that option year unless he raise his floor these last games. I am glad we have them to see.

I think I am saying they matured the last two or three years and wondering if we may start to see more guys that follow that pattern, than we used to. And I probably should have said couple of years to include Jones PS I also think that these guys get new OCs and some of them, like Darnold went through them like socks. It will stunt their growth short term but maybe in the long run it makes them more adaptable. They have seen so much different terminology etc.

You could probably capitalize and bold that ‘lot’.
