I think we hit bottom in 2023 and in game three of 2024 started the long climb away from that. It has definitely been a steady year by year decline under Tepper's 'leadership'. Un-arguable.
-
It might. The extreme selfish factor, ego, whatever it is... if passed on, is not suited for a team leader which QB must be. Not saying that 100% of the time, it is like father like son, just mostly it is.
-
I think this is the year we really confirm or deny his learning curve. If he overbears and doesn't stay back this year after all the last few years, he never will.
-
The complaining about the complaining has been way out of hand, now in year two.
-
I might argue that it takes a lot more than Daniels to make up for that lol. But I won't.

I can understand being off on a guy with the right qualifications. I don't claim to be able to pick the best one when it is close. I wasn't all in on Cam because of that play calling system they had at Auburn with him, and my old school pocket QB values. But the 1st game that counted, I knew that was wrong. Passing on Young was a gimme if you know the NFL game, and really even if you don't know it that well. I never for one second felt wrong on that one.

I'd actually completely agree with you except I am 100% against drafting offense again. Unless Canales is really sold and I think I'd have to defer to that even as strongly as I am against more for them at the expense of the defense.
-
Again, if you were a Bryce stan for 2023, I'd appreciate you owning up to it right next to the new prognostications of greatness for a college player. Asterisk time.
-
I don't think 5 years is the number. Maybe 5 years starting the clock in 2023. I mean we probably don't sniff .500 next year. That makes 4. Year 5 is two more drafts, and FA periods. As long as they don't blow it up again, I am seeing '27 as a possible head above water season.
-
Yep. It was immediately clear in the first game, that there was a problem with throwing downfield. Game two, same thing. Game three, lost but looked much more NFL doing it. People would not acknowledge the difference in philosophy, it was excuses excuses excuses.
-
Yeah. That character issue could be a real thing. Lead singer's disease (LSD) is hell to deal with. Do re ME ME ME ME ME ME. Jeff George was a hell of a QB too.

I can't put Morgan with Fitterer, he actually played the game. And I won't believe a person who did, could have made the Bryce decision. I don't think it paid Morgan to buck his superiors publicly. As much as I hate liars I understand lying to keep your job. It is a game anymore. -
Depends on the answer, and the tape. Which I haven't seen, as I said. I don't want to be hustled again. (on the Mahomes comps)

(Oops I take back the not that high, I missed the trade back part.) No Milroe. Not that high. Haven't we fuging learned about this Alabama poo? I watched him Saturday. Not impressed. People watch a lot of college ball and form attachments to guys that they shouldn't. He is better than Bryce but so what?
-
Is he actually a bona fide 6'2", is sort of my point. Like Bryce, at 204 pounds and 5'10' without the hair. I don't like that so much in the top 5 or wherever. At the same time, I would back a (unpressured by Tepper) Canales selection, as he is owed his quarterback to coach for his job with.

This part, I don't know what the status of that would be within the team. I see it happening here for sure. I think if things are going to move forward offensively then Johnson or someone like him becomes a necessity - we need to use the draft to build the defense back to an NFL unit. I fuging do not want to see another 1st round WR. No way. Even though I have a better feeling about Canales and Idzik's evaluations compared to the past it keeps us out of balance. Definitely not in the RB paying camp. Donta Foreman, or the like, is plenty behind the OL we have bought. -
I don't think I want Milroe, at all, at more than a bargain basement deal. 5th round flier like Rattler? Okay, no issue at all with that. Haven't watched Ward but isn't he at the low end of the allowable height slot?

Okay I get frustrated too and have posted about that shorting the defense for a long time. Way before the season started. I mean, it was obviously happening. But we are losing sight of the fact that we knew it was more than a one year fix, regardless of how they went about it. Trashing poo because it sucks right now, is easy to do (I mean, it does suck right now) but people are indulging themselves by pretending it wasn't bigger than just this year. Man I wanted balance, we got imbalance. Because of Young plain and simple. Which traces straight to Tepper and his emotional investment in seeing his stupid gamble not look so stupid. -
If We Don't Win Another Game. Do We Make Any Trades??

I would put the guys under contract for next year or beyond, in the keep them category. When they aren't under contract and you just let them go for nothing... not as good. -

I think you are being somewhat unrealistic and not acknowledging your position since... forever. I mean, I don't think you believed that anyone could fix him... I know I didn't. I never thought you did either. 1st, there was just no way Canales or anyone that wouldn't groom Bryce to start, gets hired. In what world was that not a condition of employment? It had to be. The best hope (for him) I had was someone could design around him enough to get him off the floor and able to run a personally tailored mini offense of little college poo. Once he showed the inability to stick with the 'fixed' mechanics and that drop, plant, throw....his unwillingness to let it fly, mission accomplished (proof he sucks). It was all about proving the negative for me, and getting him off the field and we'd have a guy that had done good work with QBs to move on with. And that was done. With lightning speed I might add. That is a major step forward to me. -
How long was his contract? When that is done, no more NDA in effect, and Bryce will be out of the league - the two factors that keep him from speaking, he would not trash Young while he is in the league. Might not anyway.
-
Show him the 2024 passing charts. And ask him how that is supposed to work.
-
We have a coach and OC with strong WR background. I think we need to recognize that that was not the case in the past. I mean, they got a UFDA that not only made the team but is pulling his weight (Coker). How often does that happen for us? I also think there was strong pressure to get lil Bruce some help to the point that they used maybe a different value system taking Legette than may have been used normally. That's just idle speculation, because I don't know. I didn't scout players this year. I just looked at Legette's stuff when it looked like he was the guy they wanted.
-
I only ever want to see Bryce playing against us. That won't happen though.

I don't know that but I know we were down 60 in Bryce's two games, and are down something like 40 in 4 games with the massive defensive attrition. And, Bryce had the full complement of receivers, healthy for both of his games. He had the OL intact I believe (not sure when Lewis went down and Zavala had to play).
