I looked at the standings earlier. Just a glut of bad teams with 2-3 wins. You can see it on the field. The CBA is a big part of it - talk about coddling. You can't drill up a good team, they have to get good in season. Somehow. Things will change at the bottom with probably a lot of those teams playing each other etc, but this may be a little bit unlucky in that there are so many bad teams. We might fall down the list farther than we deserve.

Well here it is, his story written by me. I didn’t watch this last game closely to really see his mechanics. They were changed/corrected by Canales in the offseason. He abandoned the corrections right around the end of quarter one game one. If he reverts to his own mechanics he cannot get anything on the ball at all. With the mechanics he is still too small and short and weak armed to be a very successful passer in the NFL but he might be able to stay employed. Without them it is game over, cut him please. I noticed some stuff that had me thinking the plays that are getting called are plays where he doesn’t use those old mechanics like the throwing on the run things. And plays where he can do the one two three plant throw. Some of what Canales means when he says plays that there is confidence in is referring to that sort of thing as much as it is the actual throws. I just think that his best is not good enough to excel in the NFL and will be happy when we can have a QB where the challenge part is football not arm strength, height, poor mechanics, that isn’t a three to four year project to just get up to league average. At best.

If Young is the future, go ahead and kill me.

I like the play designs on some things. The calling is subject to lots of variables. Get us a QB that doesn’t have to have a speed governor installed on the offense so he can run it, then let’s see.
-
Naming the QBs that struggled is the same thing as saying oh Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman had horrible rookie years, and applying that to Young as if he is those guys... when they were prototypical prospects and Young is a total outlier physically. And saying it without acknowledging that plenty of horrible mistakes had bad rookie seasons, and just stayed horrible.
-
Think about who he calling the plays for, and what limitations that might set.
-
I think he is fail, has failed. I want people to realize it so he can be gone and the stans will stfu already.

Lord, the NFL is horrible.

Chiefs game “Bryce young will become a Kingslayer”

I don't see that first hand but I believe it, people are so damned stupid these days. -
Overslept. Why did I bother? They suck.
-
This is funny. In 2023 post draft if you had said what if he doesn’t do all that you are getting jumped by the stans. I’d rather wait and see this actually happen before I consider planning around him being part of the team after this year.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wonder what choice they had with what they are paying CMc. You can do it with a good line against most teams but it is nice to have a quality one two punch. -
Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job. What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it? Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day. If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
-
Bryce should be moot.
-
That part is true and we know this because two of them were here. And the guy we hired has a record with those types. Vets. It should be a consideration. edit: not just him, or specifically him. Any and all who fit the description should be considered.

I like the thinking but have to ask, you think he had those notarized in anticipation? Okay kidding but if Tepper is as involved as people think he would know who Morgan liked. Also, if Tepper would have been happy with everything Morgan had done in cahoots with Fitterer, well he already had it and fired it. So I think there has to be some divergence from Fitterer somewhere in the timeline, or he wouldn't be here.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am thinking, 17 games. Maybe going to 18. Two backs. 1A 1B. And what you pay for them is cumulative so if you have a talented back you got in the draft you can be sitting pretty, really (paying one a higher salary). Looking at the long game is hard, I have been frustrated by no Brooks but if he shines for the next 3 years I'll forget that. And then Chuba, that could be pretty strong. -
Hurts thinking about that.
-
I don't fundamentally disagree but have some potential misgivings on the players, or other considerations. Like, I don't know how much it means, but Canales' experience is not with college QBs. That may or may not matter but it is a consideration. We could probably find others to ponder. Like the baggage of Prime Time too, what would that be like? Is he gonna undermine the coaching if his son isn't coming out perfect right away? etc
-
Thank you. You aren't the first person to post that same stuff about that game. He did what he did. There are no ifs there. That is it, what made the stat sheet. What counted in the contest. Past that you are getting into what ifs. And if you only cite 'almosts' that favor (in this case) Bryce, that is cherry picking. How is it not?

I don't think I was aware of his injury or fumble issues. I saw him looking good when I was looking at RBs and wanted to take him. -

Heh. We have motorcycle and a side car like Barney Fife. As far as it goes, they don’t know what they have in Brooks so maybe they were willing to go a little more on Chuba, lacking the leverage he might have provided with a strong couple of games in the can. He was gon g to get paid something pretty good by someone so what people are doing is freaking over something like 1% of the cap they might have ‘overpaid’. Maybe a couple of mil per season. That is the difference here between a reasonable deal and this travesty, isn’t it? -
Yeah, again with the cherry picking of the ‘ifs’. ‘If they had only caught it’ can apply to defensive backs too. So when you start counting all those ifs and applying them to his theoretical stats, add the theoretical Ints too or you are not being level.
