When is Coach Canales introductory press conference?
strato replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d like to have some show and tell. Especially from Morgan. -
Spys = Spooks.

Did the panthers lose on the CMC trade?
strato replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
If it mattered just a little in our process of failing at everything, I mean if not having him made that happen, I wouldn’t be happy about it. He is just sort of a sidebar. I was rooting for the 49ers for the first time in my life because of the ex Panthers out there. And because I can barely find a reason any more to have any pride in being a Panthers fan. Stupidest franchise in history. -
Gonna be a bunch of ‘we’ this and ‘we’ that until one of his spooks in the locker room tells him something then it will be all ‘you’ did this or didn’t do that.

Theilen: The idea is to fill holes while not making new ones. Like we did with DJ Moore.

Doubling down on Young. I don't like it. We NEED Young insurance.
strato replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Y’all gonna post his college stuff again now? His footwork sucked there too so I hear. I don’t watch. There are things you can coach and things that coaching will not change. Coach his footwork out? So far out that when under pressure he doesn’t even think about it and never reverts to his tried and true got my ass kicked in the NFL form? Maybe the hardest thing to do in any sport. Look at Tiger Woods and all that mess with his technique. And if you can’t coach that footwork out we shouldn’t even be talking about him as an NFL guy. -
That's me. I am no expert scout just a person who played in high school and watched and loved football my entire life. My dad did college ball and HS coaching so I didn’t have a choice. But the footwork, it took me literally ten minutes once I found something to watch. Which was his pro day. I didn’t have to look any more, there it was. Ran it back and forth a little to confirm I wasn’t mistaken in what I was seeing. Major question mark. That no one wanted to touch, for some reason , but I just don’t understand how it could be missed by pros. And if they saw what I saw and gave him a good grade, they were making the boss happy or something. It wouldn’t make sense otherwise.

Tony Pauline: Campen was Tepper's "eyes and ears"
strato replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
If he had objected to Young and then has to stand by and watch someone else script That Offense and watch that happen (/not happen). And be betrayed by men you gave a job to on top of it That’s a tough break. oops: the flip is, if he was in on Young he deserves firing in the first place we never are in a spot for any betrayals to happen. They stab the next guy in the back. They probably aren’t picky. edit and I know that doesn’t make sense, I’d just have been done wioth him totallyt if he was in on ther QB. -
When I saw your post I thought to myself... college. Someone will bring up college because that’s all there is. But I agree with them on this, he isn’t broken. He just wasn’t built to play in the NFL. Give him his props, he fooled a LOT of people into thinking he was.

News that he is a snitch would affect opinions regarding his value.

David, hi, some questions about this hire
strato replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fix Bryce Young? That admits he is broken, shouldn’t the current wording adhere to the party approved line of we have to fix the WRs? Or, the OL the OL! People are going off script. The mechanics of propaganda demand a unified message on all fronts. -
Donnelly: Process used to hire Morgan was wrong
strato replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I guess for one, who was lining up to be signing up to sell a potential coach on the organization? Heavy selling needed on Tepper, and Bryce Young. For starters. Maybe Morgan turns out to be as good as his friends think he will be and not as bad as his last three years indicate. He proved himself on the field and links to the 2003 team. I’d hate to see it not go well. -
Y’all don’t think a person might do something differently if they had a second chance? That they don’t learn something? We aren’t talking about someone who has a long rap sheet of failed coaching tries. I got more, but for fug’s sake we are talking about making them turn this into a Bryce Young developmental mission. Whole extra layer of difficulty. Oh, and win too.

Good time to be an LA football fan. There are possibilities with those two head coaching there.

Anyone that watched Young play and thinks he is an asset, we just aren’t going to get along. Even if your name is Dan Morgan.

Donnelly: Process used to hire Morgan was wrong
strato replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t care for Donnelly at all, from, what I have heard. Which is ‘Bryce Young is mad! Look out now! Which is beside the point.... but really Donnelly? Okay. Next. If Morgan had not said that glowing stuff about Bryce Young, I would be fine with him. It was last year, but he was on that wagon hard just like the rest of them. We have to do it now because we will never be at 9 again! And all this praise for Young after the pick. You fuging said that Morgan. What this means is selling out for OL and WR and neglecting the D, because the QB can’t make people better more like he makes it harder for them. We could have done that with a 3rd round pick. It is too stupid, I can’t watch it. -
Dan should be a good asset for Tepper. No one wants to hear Tepper’s mouth again for a while, Dan can speak for the team. I was a Dan fan big time in his playing days, his career ended too early. Hope he enhances that image as GM.
-
Like it matters anyway. Looks like Bryce Young comes back as unchallenged black hole, Tepper still here, the faces and names don’t matter. Good luck Dan hope you are getting it upfront.

My objection was to lumping all defensive guys in with condiment man. These 30th rated QB types don’t interest me at all. Including ours. You don’t think we are going to end up with a coach that is basically the same? I sort of think that if you go into that coach’s interview without the whole thing being about getting Young weapons and protection, you aren’t getting a second look.
-
I don’t think we were allowed to claim he lacked tools, that sort of talk brought out the pitchforks. I never understood the devotion to the guy when he had never even suited up yet. I can’t wait until this is passed.

It could be Mayo proving why Mayo should or shouldn’t be.

Gave trading up an F when it was still an idea. F when it happened. F now. Also Fire whoever supported it.

Who is beating us in the NFC South with Mike MacDonald at HC?
strato replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
That guy looks serious. Personally I prefer the coordinators to be the hands on coaches in the day to day activities and the head coach to oversee the whole deal. I know there are examples that are not that, that work great too. I guess I think burnout and spreading one person too thin as negatives for that approach. I like the military model of the general and his commanders. Direct the three phases of the on field game, guide decisions about game planning, be a great game day general. Come up with the mantra that the team latches onto for the week, just be the leader and definitely be the guy that picks the right people to work with. Which that last part is maybe the biggest thing to get right. I don’t know who that coach is, that also would open up a QB competition, but that’s what I want. I know that is a pipe dream but it is my pipe dream. I will say this, if Bryce Young could beat anyone out, I’d feel much better about him. We played against some draft day afterthoughts, that showed him up. I want to see him win an actual competition. Not the damned S2. Anyhow, that is the coach I want. -
There are degrees of rightness sometimes. I thought Tepper was known to like Young for some time. I would consider things that are out there about Tepper getting rid of all the opposition (in the buiklding). Free thinkers is what I would call them. The people remaining have seen this happen. Inside that environment, If he is talking about Young and you see the gleam in his eyes (or whatever tells you that he wants that guy), do you need to be directly told that he wants him? TLDNR: there are reports of behavior among employees that is oriented towards how will the boss react, rather than towards the basic question of is it right.

Best reason to do it.
