  1. Like the QB panic he felt and inflicted on the franchise, Tepper has some shiny WRs on his mind every waking hour so expect a relentless chase while neglecting other needs.
  2. Yeah despite the waste of a roster spot he is blocking for, you build up front. If you are gonna sign FA just make sure they can play. I really can’t argue the move that hard. It was not pre trade deadline 2022 any more. edit: absolutely the refusal of that offer was imbecilic.
  3. Yeah, we freaking know we are going to have to overpay. It was a certainty. *If you are gonna do it, put the money in the best quality product you can find. I don’t know, but the consensus (!) says he is a quality player. *Spending on a guy who impacts every play, = value.
  4. Sometimes you need to move something lower than you hoped to clear out space or raise funds for another deal you like so much that you think the shortfall in return can be made up on the other end. Or you just think it is worth doing it for. We can hope there is something.
  5. Gotta add, about the guard, the team is going to have to overpay free agents and we knew that. It just hurts. And I am against overcompensating to prop Young up but a G was necessary, I wasn’t following league wide transactions but I believe a couple of them had gone off ‘the board’. edit: and THIS is when you have to get one. You can’t screw around and miss out. You just cannot. I hope he works out I know nothing about him.
  6. I really don’t blame Burns at all, they have torn the thing down his whole time here practically and where is it getting better? Does it look like it is getting better to people? I know some of you are deluded but I bet a lot agree with what i just said. Okay I take it back, I do blame Burns for easing up. I have to. It isn’t good. He could have poisoned himself too, you don’t flirt with that. Quitting. Or you shouldn’t. Do it once you’ll do it twice.
  7. They are gonna rack up two years in a row.
  8. 2.7 seconds this year. That’s all they have to hold people off. Hope he is a great run blocker.
  9. They need one that runs great ten yard routes. How much are they? No reason to get a deep guy that can catch, the ball won’t get near him, so we can save there.
  10. Burns won it ......... And in general, we knew they were going to decimate the defense to support their offensive folly. They didn’t use the word ‘decimate’, that’s mine.
  11. They aren’t keeping Burns. It isn’t either or. I did want him to go to a frontrunner if we lost him but hey might win in Washington before we ever do.
  12. Like I said, there is no way I would have called him OROY and looking like he did (was on a HOF trajectory his first year). But I know the floor of what I am looking at on the surface. Like watching a guy throw. That is kind of the easy part (and we really fuged it up[) Stroud's physical tools and measureables were for sure adequate. Bryce Young’s were questionable. Leaning towards the side of ‘no’. It was only that not some great insight ability. I can’t do NFL QB nuance.
  13. With the rules protecting QBs they can play forever. If his arm is still good the Falcons are in decent shape.
  14. I won’t like it until I know they are setting us free of this QB hostage situation.
  15. If they would promise that, tank away.
  16. There was something else too. Can’t put my finger on how to explain it. I don’t consider myself any kind of QB expert for good reason. So I can’t or would never say I know this or that guy is clearly going top be great in the NFL. I knew Stroud could throw NFL throws. He had the size. That’s where my expertise stops. A bunch of guys look the part to someone like me. I will say this, I KNEW Bryce Young was not Stroud. I seriously doubted his arm strength and saw nothing else special. That’s about it.
  17. If you like this, wait for 1st day of the draft!
  18. Dan is gonna do what Canales asks him to, honestly. As far as the offense. Going to the alignment angle between Morgan and Canales it seems to divide the expertise down the middle with Morgan not having to become an offensive talent evaluator. And Canales probably limiting his involvement in the defense to asking Morgan and Evero how it’s all going what do you need, and you know, whatever things that may pop up they want to collaborate on. Basically a division of labor that would have a fair chance to work.
  19. I know I said that about college tape. This isn’t the exact context as where I used that. I probably would still say it if you are talking arm strength, or using it to contend he is good, when we have a year of real NFL film to look at. Yeah I’d repeat that. I am not sure exactly WHY he was he was watching I just suspected it was for the plays because he already said something about that somewhere. Finding the stuff that Bryce did well etc. He could have been watching to see if his footwork was as bad in school. I could make other guesses, he probably sees it all. I think Canales knows his stuff, feel pretty good about saying that. Doesn’t mean he is great we don’t know. I think his foundation is solid. The football stuff. What I will say about this Alabama offense is, last ditch. They didn’t try that. Nothing else worked hardly at all. Might work. He has to make the plays in the NFL still. What is happening is a return to square one, the basics. I don’t don’t disagree at all with that. It is the thing to do with this team. Or at least the offense. My problem with that is the ingredients are going to limit the recipe. And that was a primary objection when I formed my opinion on the Bryce Young question. Big part of it. I think now that they know what they are working with for sure, and they will come up with something more effective. Maybe the team wins a few more games.
  20. That depends on what he gets. But I’d think Luvu would like to be on a winner if he has a chance all things being equal. This is probably the best shot he will ever have at upgrading his situation. Wouldn’t he want to believe we were gonna win something in the next year or two to want to sign here?
  21. Our own coach referenced his college tape, used it to claim he was “cold blooded”. When our coach has been watching college tape, I think it is to learn or adopt Alabama’s offense. Adopt/adapt it (say that fast, needs to be a chant).
  22. I would say also, and they are probably representative of a lot of couples with NFL men it is a sad side of things. Yeah, family! This is our city! Nope, cut. Bye, see ya. Good luck. Next!
  23. I save conspiracy for more serious stuff, but this is probably something that natuarally evolves... so if the grapevine and maybe someone exploiting info rise to it, I guess. edit: Bozemans and winning some games were a feel good thing and LOW hanging fruit for team media. IMO
  24. I think the team media pushed it, you know... heartwarming stuff. Which is going to lead to appearances at charitable things and interaction. It wouldn’t be hard for Mama Tep to pull Mama Bozeman aside and say I heard something.... blah blah, and they are off. Hear this, hear that, tell this, tell that. Yeah.
