Like I said, there is no way I would have called him OROY and looking like he did (was on a HOF trajectory his first year). But I know the floor of what I am looking at on the surface. Like watching a guy throw. That is kind of the easy part (and we really fuged it up[) Stroud's physical tools and measureables were for sure adequate. Bryce Young’s were questionable. Leaning towards the side of ‘no’. It was only that not some great insight ability. I can’t do NFL QB nuance.

With the rules protecting QBs they can play forever. If his arm is still good the Falcons are in decent shape.
-
I won’t like it until I know they are setting us free of this QB hostage situation.
-
If they would promise that, tank away.

There was something else too. Can’t put my finger on how to explain it. I don’t consider myself any kind of QB expert for good reason. So I can’t or would never say I know this or that guy is clearly going top be great in the NFL. I knew Stroud could throw NFL throws. He had the size. That’s where my expertise stops. A bunch of guys look the part to someone like me. I will say this, I KNEW Bryce Young was not Stroud. I seriously doubted his arm strength and saw nothing else special. That’s about it.

If you like this, wait for 1st day of the draft!

To fix him or forget him.

Dan is gonna do what Canales asks him to, honestly. As far as the offense. Going to the alignment angle between Morgan and Canales it seems to divide the expertise down the middle with Morgan not having to become an offensive talent evaluator. And Canales probably limiting his involvement in the defense to asking Morgan and Evero how it’s all going what do you need, and you know, whatever things that may pop up they want to collaborate on. Basically a division of labor that would have a fair chance to work.

I know I said that about college tape. This isn’t the exact context as where I used that. I probably would still say it if you are talking arm strength, or using it to contend he is good, when we have a year of real NFL film to look at. Yeah I’d repeat that. I am not sure exactly WHY he was he was watching I just suspected it was for the plays because he already said something about that somewhere. Finding the stuff that Bryce did well etc. He could have been watching to see if his footwork was as bad in school. I could make other guesses, he probably sees it all. I think Canales knows his stuff, feel pretty good about saying that. Doesn’t mean he is great we don’t know. I think his foundation is solid. The football stuff. What I will say about this Alabama offense is, last ditch. They didn’t try that. Nothing else worked hardly at all. Might work. He has to make the plays in the NFL still. What is happening is a return to square one, the basics. I don’t don’t disagree at all with that. It is the thing to do with this team. Or at least the offense. My problem with that is the ingredients are going to limit the recipe. And that was a primary objection when I formed my opinion on the Bryce Young question. Big part of it. I think now that they know what they are working with for sure, and they will come up with something more effective. Maybe the team wins a few more games.

That depends on what he gets. But I’d think Luvu would like to be on a winner if he has a chance all things being equal. This is probably the best shot he will ever have at upgrading his situation. Wouldn’t he want to believe we were gonna win something in the next year or two to want to sign here?

I would say also, and they are probably representative of a lot of couples with NFL men it is a sad side of things. Yeah, family! This is our city! Nope, cut. Bye, see ya. Good luck. Next!

I save conspiracy for more serious stuff, but this is probably something that natuarally evolves... so if the grapevine and maybe someone exploiting info rise to it, I guess. edit: Bozemans and winning some games were a feel good thing and LOW hanging fruit for team media. IMO
-
I think the team media pushed it, you know... heartwarming stuff. Which is going to lead to appearances at charitable things and interaction. It wouldn’t be hard for Mama Tep to pull Mama Bozeman aside and say I heard something.... blah blah, and they are off. Hear this, hear that, tell this, tell that. Yeah.

It'll be more stupidity then.

I am thinking it is possible his wife and Nicole may have spent some time around each other. You can imagine what you will (or won’t) about that.

Are we low-key tanking? Donnelly thinks we're half-tanking.

It’s a cheaper way to achieve quarterback hell than the way we are currently doing it. -
It may not be a good thing for the fans of NFL football in the Carolinas but it sounds like Bryce Young is going to get his old Alabama offense back. The coach has been watching his cold blooded college tape (you die hards that don’t seem to know video of him playing in the NFL is available, jackpot). I’d love to be able to make a positive post about our QB. It is just freaking hard to do it with a straight face. The rookie C struggling to make protection calls, gonna have to deal with it if you want a good C. And you want a good center. But a veteran center, who the hell that has a choice really wants to work with a Bryce Young NFL offense? Think Boze may be getting some phone calls asking him about it? Wonder what he’d say.

It is out of character for me to feel good about David Tepper. I didn’t like him from the jump. And I don’t really expect it to take but there is maybe a window for these new guys to try it their way. If they could make any progress, it could buy them some freedom. With both of them touting the QB, it smells bad already to me but as I said earlier about Morgan; gets a year to state his case. And I understand that you probably aren't getting the job if you don’t tout the QB.

Yeah that should be like the warning on cigarettes, Caution: Do Not Disable Anti Owner-Tampering Mechanism. I’m probably worrying about Canales more than Morgan because he sounds like his voice hasn’t changed yet, and if talking and hugging is gonna do it. He made some comments I wonder about where he is really coming from and was he gonna be tough. I just don’t know enough about him. There is also a lot to like. My rare optimism stems from the pairing and history between the Canales and Morgan duo. It appears we have alignment in all the ways that we need a GM and HC to be aligned; probably for the first time since Gettleman and Rivera had their good year. I guess Rhule and Hurney had it lol. So these two could be aligned totally on with each other and off like hell re the league. I think there is a possibility that by being a repellent to coaches seen as the top guys, Tepper stumbled into a good thing Anyway Tepper really embarrassed himself and I think he knows it. I really do. The drink/ice assault was way over the line. The whole Reich (and Bryce) disaster. Stuff is totally out of control and it all leads back to him. How long it lasts who knows but I think he is going to be about as hands off as you will ever see him. More alignment. (okay watch this blow up right away) Don’t think this alignment thing means I believe they are going to be much better than they were, I think the offense could be twice as good and still suck. (edit: But it could improve our future prospects.) I am going to try myself, to be more positive. Starting now: The great thing about Bryce is, you can’t stare down a target you can’t see. We got that going.

Because it is Dan Morgan, I am doing the benefit of the doubt on this one. He proved himself everywhere from U of Miami to Panther player to scout to exec and the one failure is here, and he was not in charge for that. I’ll give him one year in charge no question. but that’s the only reason.

It is the dealbreaker for me. Ever since I saw too much. -

Don’t you get a comp pick if you lose him anyway? So that is the rock bottom floor of what you’d accept.
