Official Panthers Bengals Andy Dalton revenge GameDay thread.
strato replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Okay I want to correct this. Just watched the goal line series. Damn the OL, totally on them - 1st and goal the the 2 take 3 shots running it and gain 1.5 yards. The 3rd down play went between Icky and Zavala. Icky got stood up. Didn't move poo. Zavala really wasn't the issue that I could see. But is hard to see once they get all up in there. The 4th down, Corbett got beat, the crease was between him and Zavala. aaagghh -

Jeez, listening to Canales post game. The goal line failed run was behind Zavala by design. I could have told him that wasn’t a good idea. -
Yeah, and a bridge to the future that isn't washed all the way out.

Okay... and your point? Talk to me after a few more weeks of losing.
-
I am on the honeymoon for sure. The grass is greener right here.

He has adequate tools and the wisdom from being a long time starter. Been around. The right combination -the declining (edit: but still good enough) skills and knowledge acquired from years of playing, works. It can work for years. adding: That is how those guys, now without the top tools, can still play. And Bryce without the top tools, can't. The way the came to those tools was from a different direction.

Semantics... call it an architect if you want to. It's kind of an analogy thing anyhow.

Lamar was the 32nd pick.

Dalton bigly missed some today but most QBs do this regularly. He is less prone to being streaky with it due to poor mechanics. So a miss is just a miss on that play. He wasn't real sharp but also he had no AT which was the glue guy that made the rest of it work. Things are not as in synch without him, at last not yet.
-
I was saying most of the year that the halfway point would be a place to expect the OL and the offense in general to be refined and synced up to be looking like what they could be. That counts time for Brooks to get back and tested. And that was with Bryce. This seems to have been accelerated with Dalton.

I guess I think there is a sound foundation.

Dalton Brought My Love For the Game Back
strato replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know about pro, but if you don't start thinking you have it figured out and don't chase losses, you're good. That's nice work. -
I am a sucker for some longer shot less expensive QB hopefuls behind Dalton. Rookies or rehabs, hell one of each.
-
Hope is legit now, no longer manufactured propaganda based off nothing. Just to be looking at the defense as our problem is a huge step away from the suckage of the Bryce Young era. Overall you can't be unhappy with what we have seen the last two weeks, even counting today which wasn't great.
-
The big play the defense gave up was a reason they had the ball less time but I thought that was done. And we were playing from behind after the 1st quarter. I didn't understand the reliance on Sanders to take all those carries.
-
And last week it kicked ass. Go figure. Sure, it all needs work and probably the first game trying to replace the glue that was Thielen, that may be a factor. You got stuff out of place and a 2nd year plus a rookie being moved up in the depth chart.
-
That's going to take some review, because he sure as heck was today. He jumped unnecessarily in that 2 point attempt last week too, and I'd have to watch again but I don't think he needed to jump and it was a body catch too. If it's over his head or whenever he has to reach for it, then no body catch. That's my general impression.

I actually ike him for Pittsburgh, he likes Fields, and they could stand to help Fields if they are going with him. (and it doesn't matter what I think about Darnold when I am looking for a possible match, it's on the club that would look at him, thinking who would look at him, that he might be amenable to)
-
For some reason I don't expect that would make him happy enough to don the colors. You can kiss that sweet deal goodbye. I don't think he'd want to come back. (except for big money maybe) (and, they could say well that was Fitterer and Reich and they're gone...) How about Minnesota with Darnold and he keeps his helmet on? They had a pretty good thing. Next season. And he is also a Pittsburgh type maybe along the lines of Hines Ward. That gets him out of the division and the conference. This season maybe if he makes demands.

Missing a couple o' red symbols.

Hey wait! Bring him back when the WRs are on IR and the OL is banged up and trot him out there. If he sucks we just wait for NFL Live and those people to hype him back up.
