Bryce Young ready to get back to work, grow as a leader
strato replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
That, is such a huge job - completely changing from the ground up. You can do it and do reps all perfect, but will you trust it in a game or revert to the easy comfortable way you always did it? That is what has to be proven. It needs to be even more ingrained than the old way to supplant it. And I don’t have faith they can do it, but maybe he can drill some reliability in. -

It is very difficult to avoid. Shortcomings.... -

If you hold the opinion that he was never worthy of that level of investment, which I do... It would be more like they made a terrible error in judgement and are doing their best to hide it. What career was PJ Washington guaranteed? How much better is Bryce? He doesn’t measure up to what people expect out of him and I fault the people having the inflated expectations far more than I fault Bryce for being who he is. He’ll probably be a fine College Gameday addition. He is not what the Teppers and Fitterer thought he was. Don't need lies on top of the bullshit we are told. At least I don’t. Show me don’t tell me. I don’t expect the offseason to give individual progress reports but just something telling me you are conscious of the need to improve and show me your work ethic. That would be welcomed. -

Hmm. Under C, standard QB 5 step drop. I think 5. That is something I was curious about. -

Oh yeah, the fluff. I’ll take your word for it. I would always be glad to hear this about our top pick. So what year did he go (back) get his degree? Do you remember? -
Albert Breer: Panthers could "hold auction" for #33 pick
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I might disagree with that, anecdotally at least. Or question it. We can name a lot of great players taken in the 3rd round. And in a deep draft as this supposedly is? With 3 chances? -

That is my fear, that we are saddled with a very average game manager for the next three years. Already sacrificed one miserable ass season, plus the 1st pick in the draft for that guy. And people are wanting everyone to support what so far has been very predictable fail. I do believe Canales can devise a way to get 16-21 ppg from the offense so if Young doesn’t fumble or throw a bunch of bad balls and the defense jells we may win 6. The problem is, with that type of attack where do you go from there? His ceiling is so limited by his physical ability. -

The puns write themselves with him. It is actually difficult to avoid them. -

Bryce Young, Kumbaya. Tell that poo to Bears fans you will have a better chance of success. I guarantee they love him. For Panthers fans, he has been about as useful as a boat anchor. A blocking sled probably contributes as much to the team’s success as things stand. 26-0, 9-0 in his 15th and 16th games. Trending up, he was not. He is Ron before the Riverboat. -

Question from a person that is not great with stats: If the scouts suck, then isn’t it better to view a pick as an educated guess? And if that were true wouldn’t we have a better chance with more guesses? -
🚨Tony Pauline: Panthers interested in CB Mike Sainristril @33

Good one. That guy was entertaining and he won. Until people started taking them seriously then he was a little overmatched. I loved him though. -

I don’t know but if they make a team forfeit picks I believe they just bypass them. You might be picking 33rd though with only 30 players gone. -

Honestly, a 2025 1st that is only a few slots up isn’t that great when you have to wait for the payoff. Like, pick 25 of next year’s draft is pretty cheap to get #33 this year. I would wan t sometheng else this year along with it. OTOH if New England wanted to trade their #1 next year, I am betting that would be a pretty high pick.. -
Rd1 #32 That extra year option alone should impact a trade value chart, it seems like a large perk.

(to razor’s post) I don’t even what to say to that. I don’t understand watching that kid last year and not wanting to think that he accepts that as a representation of who he is (even if that IS all he is, you don’t want him accepting it). Edit and also, for sure every coach knows his players will hear or see if he says says something about them. So they make their comments with that in mind. It is the big mystery to me. Honestly I don’t see what anyone sees in our QB so tend to not believe a coach that praises him. Like a lot6 opf people, I don’t see how you can change his footwork to what others learn to do because he is so ass backwards with his drop, if you blueprint it you do nopt want what he does. Yet it seems integral to the way he is forced to play, due to his physical shortcomings. So what can you do? I think saying 2,7 seconds or under and don’t worry about how that happens, is about where Canales has found himself. -
I think it is reasonable to assume that sooner or later he will have done it wrong so many times that eventually he will have it right simply by never repeating a mistake. (I will take heart on this one: see drafting any more 5’barely10” QBs in our future?) So let’s toast that day- that far away in the distant future day. That I am pretty sure I won’t be alive to see.

100% of Panther fans should be wanting him to be working on things that he was weak at or could improve at, or just working on anything he can think of to make himself better at his job. It seems the disagreement is over whether or not fans are entitled to know the details. Why would anybody Not want to hear that he is working? It is true that no one is obligated to give us reports. But I think that if they are doing something to rehab their shortcomings and weak areas, it is a better idea to put that out there, than to say nothing. -
I had too much of them when it turned very mean spirited at some point. The way he was talking about Bryce detractors was on the level of real hate. Not just an argument.

Yeah, Mr ball cap radio sports expert is pretty bad. But he isn’t the worst, they put them in Charlotte. The Mac and Soup Bone duo are the whiniest homers that I have come across. It is outright Bryce homer erotica and woe to you if you disagree with them. It gets Mac very angry, to the point where if I could stand hearing them whine, I would troll the hell out of them every day.

That is my favorite Cam clip, by a lot. That is so great.

I I read that right it is the most thorough and comprehensive excuse package ever offered up for a Quarterback. Sounds like the Princess and the Pea. Only the best will do for Bryce! Absolutely, the team has let him down. It is so unfair. I guess we should be thankful for things that could have been blamed, but were not; Misogyny, which definitely should be on the table here. And of course Racism. I don’'t understand the omission. Maybe that’s a supply chain issue? You would think they would learn to order extra. Ands it seems like there would really have to be some type of phobia involved, out of the usual list of suspects. How can we not have phobias represented in this day and age? Maybe the coaches have a phobia against TEs? Yeah.... Could happen! They really just shouldn’t let him take the field until there are players on the roster worthy of stepping on the same field with him. -

Well, I’m hoping there is a real drop, plant and throw mixed in there. I’m seriously curious to see what they are going with in that 2.7 and under plan. -

Probably a decision made by his agent, for optics. Like the optics of bloat subbing for legit muscle at the combine. They know a lot of these teams are stupid when they are smitten with a prospect. Like a lonely guy that thinks he has found a girl that would take him. ediyt: 7 snaps. They had him under there a little after Reich was canned.
