  1. Well wait. They are building a team as we speak to cater to a under equipped player’s deficiencies. Put a little differently they are overbuilding it to compensate for the design flaws of a weak component. No one would design an NFL QB with Bryce Young as their template. No. One. It is always around this point that I get really pissed off or frustrated and lose the thought or point I am going for, because I look at it and realize that what I just wrote, is 100000% true. So I lost the point again. Sorry 45. I get so pissed off at the decision makers that put this on us. It isn’t about whether Young is a good kid. Doesn’t matter. Besides that he has no underdog cred, at all, and that is the only reason I’d have to ignore my good sense.
  2. I don’t know about his leash. Depends on how he plays. I know these guys are young but I think they need to be trending up the way people like to see NFL teams trend.. like end the year with a winning streak,. you spoil a contender’s playoff chances, other teams don’t want to play you. That type of stuff. We have seen it before. Personally though, I would already have competition in the building. Today. Even if it is token. We would see who could do what with what, on the field. If he is what people want him to be, he would win the job.
  3. He hasn’t finished growing yet. 21 years old. Okay. Comps to more physical Evan Engram? I am a fan of his, so this fine with me. Hope he turns into something.
  4. I think they can sign Gilmore, and I don’t want to trade up. And I’ve done no real vetting of these lower round players, but I think I’d take a shot at trading back a little and seeing if he makes it to us.
  5. z Pretty much yes, but WRs historically are slower to develop. Mostly, that far down and in this particular draft... maybe a little soft in the 1st round (people say the sure thing bona fide types were gone by 15 or something)? The team’s roster is also a big factor and at 32 it’s probably pretty good in most cases so maybe not a clear day one starter. Biut 100% straight up day one starter, generally, yes I think you want the guy to be that. You want him to play a lot at the latest by seasons back half I see you are probably implying Legette is a mistake because he may not be a day one starter? I think l he will be used and will contribute. I don’t know Canales style with that stuff either, that can also be a factor. Our 1st rounder last year, should not have been a day one starter I don’t think, as far as it goes, and we were so much more heavily invested. It is what it is.
  6. I wanted a C but didn’t the JPJ have some kind of hip concern? I kept thinking of Bruce Nelson and just couldn’t get it up. The thing that is different, we weren’t coming out short in our trading. They worked that board and the real time flow deftly and came out with a surplus. Which sure, it cost us probably a little satisfaction this weekend but we needed that 2025 2nd round pick and it will look really good next year. So Morgan doing a very nicew two birds with one stone type of thing. We filled a Fitterer hole and made it look easy. But it ain’t easy. The move to 46 was technically a trade up but really it was a de facto trade down from 39. And it was a freaking great play. We can thank LA for sure but Morgan was walking boss and it is in his win column. To me this is more the model of how to do it without ruining yourself with trade deficits. Or trying to pull off these desperation high risk gambles that when you are wrong can set you back 5 or more seasons. That we are about to find out about this year I hope.
  7. More I see of this guy the more I like him. He can ST right away, and moves great for a pretty big guy. We got the staff, we got Morgan, we got Luke getting a little interested, and we got a good vet for him to understudy. Shaq will treat him right. I really like Legette. I understand the RB he has the size and build, and he does appear to have great hands. L:et’s hope he likes blitz pickups. I really like the 2nd in 2025.
  8. I get the raw, I get the only did it one year in college. I also know what I see when I look at the video. I know his frame and his speed and he has power in that body. And he competes. I am optimistic about him. Crazy I know.
  9. That is a bit over the top to me. Legette is athletically on higher level - like noticeably higher- to me. And I have not been a basher of either of those guys. (I mean I don’t think the are trash). I get the impression you think less of them than I do so you are putting Legette down pretty hard. Every player in the draft is a gamble, we’ll see soon enough what the deal is.
  10. I took note of that too. No ‘save my butt screw the future’ moves. I think they are totally safe to return for 2025 no matter what. I like that they can operate that way, it should be lead to a better build. And I know there are still unaddressed needs that will be left hanging. unfortunately but it was too much to fill in a single year.
  11. I think Wallace is going to pay off, down the road a little bit. Very athletic guy and very nimble for his size.
  12. I would love them to draft Rattler. They won’t. I want to see the QB challenged, to see if there is any urgency in him. Or to raise what is there. I could go for the Georgia center with the future in mind, and or, another corner but I don’t know which one of who is left TBH. in general, starting in the 5th take whoever stands out as better than the field, at any position. If we have redundancy at WR or LB or wherever, then we have competition which is progress.
  13. For the incredibly painful initial investment made in him, then add the major investments to help him which is practically every position on offense basically because he doesn’t appear to make anyone better... hell yes he needs to produce.
  14. Well they might have taken him at 39 if not for LA. This is a lot better than that.
  15. It is really about the last shot at a second rounder for next year. It’ll feel better then.
  16. There are going to be guys there it looks like.
  17. I suppose they could even trade back up a slot or three.
  18. I understand damn it. They’ll get something at 52.
  19. Maybe they do go RB What came back besides 52?
  20. If it is a late first it isn’t really that great a deal.
  21. I am old school and would love it but for a bunch of years think you can along pretty well with good or excellent but not quite special. Case in point Kamara in the 3rd vs CMC top 10.
  22. It is literally the anniversary there, WUnderhill. The one year anniversary of what right now looks like it was pretty damned destructive to our favorite football team. I bet next year sucks too about the 2nd round but NOWHERE near what last night gave us.
  23. At the time it seemed it was more valuable than any single pick. A young, ‘cheap’ (lol) proven WR that was a 1st rounder. I mean, look, the results are: Chicago traded the top pick in a down year for the top pick in a more fruitful year, plus a truckload of assets. And Carolina passed on the one guy that showed he was in consideration to be worth that. That is worse mojo than just Black Cat luck.
