  1. It’s like a traffic accident, but I can’t not look. I have taken to watching replays and and not live games, and just enjoying my Sunday afternoons rather than donating every Sunday to the NFL. Who I have grown to despise as an entity. But football is a lifelong interest and difficult to move on from, entirely. Tepper has pushed me to the fringes of fanhood.
  2. I wish there was a way for us to know who to credit for their brilliance. Tepper and lying with a straight face probably aren’t strangers. Absent proof to the contrary, and going by the behavior over Years pushing for his QB, I gotta go top down.
  3. That really gets down to their physical tools, I think. Some can, some can’t keep their ratio at the next level. edit: Which, oh well, that’s the way it goes. I really think it is all about correctly assessing if this translates to successfully competing at the next level. Where everyone is great.
  4. Yep, his first game, I understood. It was something. I had seen too much of the real simplistic play calling from college and not enough of the athleticism at his size.
  5. Not a comparison. Stating a policy with examples and the reasonable justification for the perspective. My fault I guess, this is like the second day that people don’t seem to understand what I’m saying.
  6. No contact and still a bad performance makes it worse. This stuff is why you never trade up to number one. Because you are only getting what someone else is passing on. A generational QB prospect is on the board, no one trades the pick. So get wise.
  7. Linebacker doesn’t throw a football. That matters.
  8. Well we wouldn’t have had to draft him specifically. Probably a 10 yard route and 70mph pass.
  9. I don’t feel horrible about the D. Mainly because I like Evero and the why is I think he can do more with less. And he got a couple of more guys he knows. Like Wilks back when he was a DB coach. They gave him poo to work with some years but he got something out of them. Pass rush... yeah that may be a weakness. I think the run D will be decent. Someone tell me how we are going to average even 16 points of offense. oh wow, we scored 20 TDs on offense in 17 games. That’s without defensive or special teams scores. Yeah boy.
  10. Yep. As we saw just last year you can’t tell much from a guy throwing in shorts. Mechanics and arm strength probably.
  11. Last year was torn down enough for me. If they made any progress out of it wtf do you want to just toss it? You keep the best parts upgrade the weak ones.
  12. Yep. And whenever that game was where Fox said we are playing in the Wildcat basically that is the entire plan.
  13. Okay fine. I hate him lol.
  14. Well yeah, and with this QB a pass catching back that can get his rushing yards is the right move. That I think Tampa Bay game where J Stew and DW ran all over them the whole game was a high point.
  15. That ain’t advice. Before right now, have I personally insulted you? You really seem to have reading comprehension issues.
  16. I was mostly anti Bill and Kraft. Those guys were the real villains to me. Brady was a 5th round cool story. I did hate the Pats and I did enjoy him getting messed with over deflated footballs. But the guys doing the real cheating were the ones in charge. They have dry run test announcing, people who analyze the demographics, production staff that helps them, prepare. I don’t think they’s have made such a big play if he really had no aptitude. But maybe he will totally suck.
  17. Did not want him (that high). Taking him meant trading back up for the tackle who I forget his name, but I just wanted a tackle. He had foot issues, 1st round, I was like... why? He earned the return on that investment. Great player for us.
  18. Denying others’ criticisms certainly implies that you hold the opposite opinion. Really, it does.
  19. And the game has gotten much faster since Flutie’s days. Bigger, stronger, faster across the board. Athletic freaks on D. I read an article on arm strength and release times for QB. This is a snip: Let’s say, for example, a cornerback is traveling at 15 MPH to track a throw. All else being equal, giving that defender an extra 0.05 seconds allows them to cover an additional 1.1 feet. Now, obviously, a quarterback’s arm strength factors into that equation, but this just highlights why having a quick release can be so beneficial. https://medium.com/@thetim_dix/video-analysis-quantifying-the-arm-legs-and-mind-of-qb-kyler-murray-a0fae27c7594 Extrapolate that with different velocities and you can see where it gives defenders a better chance to make a play. That was a thing for me, with Young’s arm being questionable. And the footwork, that tippy toe isn’t what you want to see and the extra skip step takes extra time. And space. I figure camp preseason and the first three or four games it will be clear if he has what it takes.
  20. Young can’t benefit from any rah rah he does unless he can produce. No one wants to hear that from an under performer. So maybe if he can become a producer, a guy that his teammates have faith in, then you will see more. I figure he was pretty overwhelmed.
  21. I don’t think being taken 1st overall tells Young he is too small. Fans thought so. It is a factor you can’t say it isn’t. The other guys overcame it. You seem to be proclaiming he will. Your opinion.
  22. Get your sarcasm antenna sensitivity up a little higher.
  23. We should be expecting a fair return for the top shelf price. Which is a top shelf franchise changing player. edit: Honestly, I will never believe Reich chose Young over those other QBs, given the scenario. His background and history. I believe for some reason, he lied because he can’t say i didn’t want this kid. The QB he has to coach. I would just have to see him come out now post employment, and say one way or the other, but the ‘wrong’ answer would damage Young which he would not want to do, and he probably wants to keep being paid by Tepper so that isn’t likely to happen.
  24. All the reasons he struggled, were addressed. New IOL, new skills, new coaches. All those things holding him back were fixed. Now we will be able to see his greatness.
