  1. He needs to slide in between the noise where he Can see. Spread the OL out make sure the RB can pass block, keep a TE in. Only way it can be done that I see. The poo with the deep drop backs screws the tackles way up.
  2. It might be the best way to get him to use proper mechanics. Compared to him tippy toeing while meandering casually backwards. I just don’t see that as fixable but if you dump the meandering scanning on tip toes, take a rhythmically repeatable drop, maybe his passes come out better. Quicker too probably.
  3. I thought he was hurt or something. Is he really holding out? When TF do kickers ever hold out?
  4. That Will be something to trust, probably, as opposed to homers and dreamers looking at it and seeing what they want to see, and blaming everything on everything but their boy. Which some people will still do if it goes that way. I mean, if Jets people say he is a new man, looks so much better, etc, I think I would believe that before praise from Young fans.
  5. That was my preference, I hate using future years to get something now. No big trade ups. Couple spots, keep your future bullets, okay. It wasn’t about Levis it was more about the leveraging the future, and we could have traded back from 9 and got him. Still; have DJ. Etc etc. And when we did trade up and taking a QB was the reality, okay now I need to look at these guys. I came out of it anybody but Young. Just didn’t think he translated. At least the other three have the physical tools that you want if you are going all in. Talking about his processor, you know some guy people said had the highest iQ ever worked odd jobs and as a bouncer, stuff like that. (Bryce and his processor won’t need to do that, but this NFL top 10 QB thing isn’t his calling) The whole package is what you need to find.
  6. He seriously needs to earn a third season as starter. Not saying release him, but right now it wouldn’t take much to beat him out going on what I have seen. At least challenge him year three, if he wins the job, okay. If not he can carry a clip board for a couple of more seasons.
  7. Pads = at least a taste of the real.
  8. IOL was very bad, at times. Zavala may have been the worst I have ever seen on a field in the NFL on the OL. Got his azz beat up and down the field. Non intelligent, the lot of them. Any kind of stunt would leave those guys standing around looking for someone to block while a rusher passes him where they aren’t looking. I get that when you have free rushers coming at you right off the snap, you can’t do a whole lot about it. There other times, numerous times, when he left the pocket and ran into stuff where had he just stayed or stepped up, he is in business. Where the pocket was clean and he didn’t see the open man. Where he misfired or just panicked and threw it OB. That IOL needed fixing anyway so we could get a yard when we need a yard, and have to put in Dalton for the sneak. Lol. edit: fwiw on D, I fear the ILB coverage is going to get exploited big time. No pass rush, so to get one they’ll be a man short somewhere in coverage, I don’t like it a lot. But I would not have liked paying Burns enough to make him happy either. But they slacked off on pass rushers in the draft in favor of accommodating the offensive skill positions.
  9. Even so that is not a long term thing unless Young makes it so. It only tells you so much. It could just as simply be that they were hired under conditions that he be given every opportunity to keep and grow into the job. That will be revisited after the season... or something along those lines. We just don’t know. I know some of you think Young is a star, so you would, but I wonder how many qualified guys would sign on being married to winning with him. There has to be an out. It makes sense that the new guy will do his best with what’s here (first) rather than just can it given the situation. edit: as far as NFL coaching and played and having not played, those vets who are coaching are known for being vet friendly. Canales has said some things that hint he is a coddler, but I feel like he can be pretty cold blooded. No proof just a feeling. Or maybe Morgan will need to be bad cop.
  10. I don’t want to say something inaccurate for one, it wasn’t some huge thing but it was just the type of thing that you go... wait a minute, that isn’t right. A little clue is all you need sometimes.
  11. I want certainty about the QB position one way or the other.
  12. I totally missed that. Who was yelling do you think?
  13. I'm not worked up about this but I had a little beef with his reporting or whatever it is, and can’t remember specifically what it was. A year or so ago maybe. It was something about Wilks or maybe Reich, but I thought the way he presented it was pretty slanted and I disagreed with the facts as he presented them, more or less. I believe it was an audio spot with FNZ. I took note that this guy was maybe all about some kind of agenda to be distorting the reality to make a story more appealing.
  14. I think Cam made his own problems back in his school days. And did so well at staying out of trouble as a pro. He learned.
  15. If Tepper would sign a contract that he would stay in the owner’s suite for two years and let the new coach pick his QB, staff, etc, he could get a great coach. This sucks the same as last year. Thinking I know what I am going to see but have to wait for it to get on the field this year to confirm or deny. It’s all talk at this point.
  16. I didn’t want to make a thread but thought this was a pretty good time suck that might fit in here move it if you want. This guy works his way through the roster and staff piece by piece:
  17. There was stuff trashing Fields’ attitude recently. May be Chicago damage control propaganda, I don’t really follow them. But DJ seemed to get on the soapbox for him so how bad was it really?
  18. I have been looking at it like Tepper was driving those he employed to get him the QB he wants. As soon as he finished his year of learning the business side, and graduated himself from his year learning the football side. edit: not on the inside and don’t have any factual evidence to back up my impression.
  19. The If they have to pay the guys that generate the revenue, how do they support the parasitic programs? You'd have to go purely by the numbers to keep the most self sufficient sports programs and as many of the lesser revenue producing programs as allowable. By the real numbers not some manufactured hierarchy. Guess who loses that one. Will people allow them to lose? No there would be hell to pay. So here we go.
  20. If I said more about why I see the league being part of the problem I couldn’t post. Still love football, my dad was an example of the difference between college and pro. He ended up coaching for several years. I went on a couple of visits for college ball but knew I wasn’t NFL caliber and had some pretty compelling interests outside of athletics and here we are. I went another way. Still love football but seriously falling out of love with the NFL. Have zero love for Tepper. edit: to stay OnTopic the wins come from facing teams that are down for whatever reason, that week. I don’t know how to know more specifics ahead of their random demises.
  21. I just remember being ridiculed for dissenting on the Young narrative here. Which was he is ... well, y’all remember. Last preseason (excluding a little post draft bitching), since there was no pro evidence, I couldn’t talk until football was played on the field. Fair enough. We have 16 games documented, I can speak freely. The Young supporters hate that.
  22. Gee that sounds awful familiar. I’d say, obviously not referring to you.
