  1. I like Darnold a whole lot better. He has some upside because his tools are there. I don’t know what Bryce has. Hopefully a great scheme with a superior running game.
  2. They kept Woods that’s enough for me. I like Evero and Morgan and if they are in, I’m in. I trust them pretty much. You know I just realized what a good spot we might be in with Morgan and Canales being tight. Morgan has that defensive mentality and can interface with the coordinator. Maybe better than Canales can. But is aligned with the offensive vision as well. I hate to be overly optimistic off of unproven stuff so let’s just call it an observation.
  3. Nobody was open!!!! Or nobody was SEC open. I hope he learned something from that (if he didn’t Canales is Johnny on the spot with that 2.7 to help him out).
  4. It could work, but you have to work exponentially harder than with a prototypical type with a deep ball. That was my thing, why pay extra to make it harder on yourself?
  5. Imagine if you will;, Cam vs Bryce in the same draft, and Tepper and Fitterer are putting their heads together... as if there is anything to discuss.
  6. Lol yes. With Bryce looking a mature 16, it is a perfect Disney setup. They’ll get a they/them to be Bryce, and nobody will go see it.
  7. I looked at his size and said this is the modern NFL, off my board. Then I said well let’s look at his arm. I watched his pro day and saw stuff in his mechanics and footwork that were pretty clear to me, and I am no scout, but it was enough to say please don’t take him. Now I am supposed to be positive about him. Lemon to lemonade?
  8. A throwaway is usually okay with me, like a punt. Live to fight on the next play. But he kind of took it to another level, throwing it away on 3rd down. At least throw deep enough that if picked at least it’s like a punt. Somebody might catch it, which OB is automatic DOA give up. I try and picture good things but in my head it looks like last season to me, which is sort of how I pictured things all along.
  9. Except for some injury plagued years, from ’02 through Cam it wasn’t bad. We made it through the Jake to Cam journey and were back in action in a pretty short time.
  10. I remember looking at him after they drafted him and thinking ... maybe (if I squinted I could almost see it). Then he got hurt, after looking like dogshit his first time(s) out as I remember it. That doesn’t help you.
  11. He had insane physical gifts. I used to complain that he didn’t immediately start fixing all that his first offseason and each one after and never felt like he did. Because I knew what that could do for him (and us). Next level. Which I wanted to see happen. A whole lot of people here just insinuated or outright said I was a F150 or something for criticizing him.
  12. We aren’t even one game into the Morgan/Canales era. I know, Tepper. An era could be 6 weeks. We don’t have a lot to go on as far as are they going to excel and things are already changed, or they suck and things are already the same. We just don’t know yet.
  13. Would Fox have been as flexible with the offense though? Would he have been rigid and insistent on Cam running say, Dan Hennings’ scheme? Ron did allow alternative football to be played. Not arguing or correcting just asking.
  14. Pretty much agree. There is little doubt that JR heard stuff around his dinner table growing up and it goes from there. I heard that stuff, when I was 10. Grandparents. Bet yours said some stuff too lol. You get in the world and learn, hopefully. Personally I am pretty much of the MLK value system and try and go case by case with people. All kinds of people. I do think that JR probably evolved through playing with guys and having players on his team that he got to know. And maybe the Black guy would call him a cracker or ofay or whatever. Tempers flare poo gets said sometimes.
  15. I know... I am a dumbass for not appreciating Bryce Young but I would rather have Sam.
  16. They cancelled JR big time. Until I see the actual accurate account of the racist slur part of the ‘case’, I am not judging him on it. People lose their temper and say poo sometimes because they want to hurt the other person and can’t come up with a reasonable insult. That is why people call people names, as far as I can understand. It happens. People get pissed and say stupid things they wish they hadn’t. That is a fact. I would like the real details before I go into judgement mode. When I was young and pretty I worked an assembly job at a GE TV plant for about 6 months. My line supervisor was gay and he didn’t ever touch me with his hands but man oh man he harassed the hell out of me. (You can’t move on an assembly line, but you supervisor can). I needed the job so I dealt with it. It sucks, but you know he never got any satisfaction and I didn’t sue him or GE. I put up with his poo for the paycheck. I left when I could, end of story. No boo hoo and boycotts and lawsuits. Some of these people who get these settlements, I wonder really, how bad was it that you couldn’t endure it for that probably pretty good paycheck. So I am one who thinks on balance, what I know *for a fact* about JR doesn’t make him a bad enough guy to be forced to sell the team he started. ( edit: I really am fine with condemnation, but need facts before I go there). Something tells me Tepper was afoot in that poo.
  17. I can’t see Bryce Young getting to the Super Bowl unless he is a backup. You aren’t talking about beating most teams, having a nice season. It’s beating everybody just to get there. For his sake I hope I am wrong.
  18. BigHank88 Okay, Beason: in his time or now looking back? Maybe I should have read the OP better. I was going from now. I hardly ever hear much about him.
  19. Beason might be one. Joke answer Eddie Piniero. Jeno James is my blast from the past name I haven’t heard in a while. As far as Shaq, we have been blessed to have some great linebackers over the years, the standards are really high. Speaking of, Will Witherspoon. I think he was about rightly appreciated though.
  20. These are great stories if the guy becomes someone. Good luck to him.
