  1. Speaking of Shaq, I was watching some video of him from 2022 and he looked good. So much better than what we have on the field now. I do think he has maybe lost a step, half step, but it was a big loss.
  2. We were in lock step on Young. I never thought he had the goods and a 'fix' will only get him somewhere close to where he is now. I'd say he still has a little ceiling left but not too much, he is very close to it. The thing about TMJ/Mingo not developing, people have been dogging them as wasted picks. Is he supposed to develop wasted picks too? It isn't a real consistent narrative. Kind of like trap logic. Hmm, give him an undoable job and then fire him for not doing it.
  3. I don't see the Wallace speed ratings on the field. Not once have my eyes been drawn to him from any suddenness or explosiveness. Kind of like looking for a flash out of Bryce Young last year. I am aware that he is a rookie and his recognition and processing will be slower but if you don't close ground once you have finished recognizing and processing I worry about it. Now this, I think, disregards the new offensive staff's experience with WRs and their influence on who gets added. It isn't the old staff people and they are the offensive deciders, Morgan shouldn't be exerting his will over people whose focus has always been offensive football, and I don't think he will try to do that. We'll see, but the two we added this year don't look like busts.
  4. Been saying this, it fits here: the guys running the offense have their roots in WRs. We should get different evaluation moving forward. I think the XL pick had helping Bryce as the top priority, but it is looking okay. The Coker acquisition shows they are competent at least. I am more a cynic than an optimist but think some optimism is in order at least on that count.
  5. I think the worst thing you can do is rate them strictly against college competition. You have to look at their game and superimpose it over the NFL template. Short version, his didn't fit at all.
  6. Thielen hasn't been on the field, so him not getting interest tracks with the facts (as in, lack of any proof he is healed). If we had anyone left I'd be okay with just releasing him if he wants to leave but we are so thin now.
  7. If I can make fun of my own team, and I do... I am fine with making fun of any team. Equal opportunity.
  8. I can't really find anything out about it elsewhere. As of about 15 minutes ago anyway.
  9. I was just saying Vick because he was very difficult to defend. Not as difficult as Young, or even close, IMO. edit: and just thinking if Morgan had an opinion something like his game experience would influence it. At the same time, I don't think anything he might have had to say would have changed anything. I guess it's more me saying that I don't feel like he would have been all in in on Young. Really, at the same time, I don't think he had a lot of influence on the pick.
  10. No kidding. But he does have a background defending them including Mike Vick iirc. Looked it up, drafted the same year (2001). The thing that got me so much is these defensive guys like Luke putting praise on Bryce Young when you cannot tell me that he would not have been salivating to see him across the LOS. I do not buy their praise.
  11. Ha that is two questions. Don't know. It appears so but the Bryce garbage time insertions tell me maybe not.
  12. Some of us knew that before they sunk it. He didn't.
  13. And Canales makes all the calls, right? Big boss man would never run him off to keep Bryce in play? Cool. Let's hope.
  14. His value is tanked because he tanked it via his performance. It will not get but so much better whatever he does (reasonable expectations being applied). But the cap hit situation made it very unlikely anything would be done regardless, until after the season is over and they can absorb having everything accelerated to the cap as a result of his absence.
  15. Well you have the trifecta of Tepper giving Rhule roster control with Fitterer doing his bidding. Then taking it back right? Then Tepper influences stuff in 2023 so hard. Fitterer was drafting for this staff, then that staff, the owner, mixing in his own ideas, just a fuging confused mess.
  16. It seemed clear he was going to be released at a total loss. Once that word is out the only thing left is to get something; more than the nothing you get when he is released.
  17. We did get some guys back on defense, it helped. It also helped that the Saints' OL is in shambles. Well, it was two weeks ago and I don't think it got better; that helped us too. What was the stat, 275 and 0 with the stats someone showed? Lol. Playing that 'if' game, you just have to take all the 'ifs' into account. Those were some prime opportunities missed by NO. The rainbow that someone caught I forget who, was pretty iffy also. But I think it is the only way he can get over, just have to gamble and throw those balls out there because the little screens and everything ain't cutting it.
  18. You might figure that negativity is very much frowned on in that locker room, and that factoring into things too.
  19. Man, if that is true it sounds like people wanted us to just plain give him away and pay for him too.
  20. I am not excited by a 1 point win against a depleted team. It is unusual that I don't feel better about it, I think they have me beat down pretty low. Like, I just want the year to be done and over. And then see where things are headed next, before I can feel better about things.
  21. I don't get the outrage over what round pick we got. He is a UFA in 10 games and was squabbling with the org here. Not a value enhancement. I do get the irritation over us paying him to play elsewhere, that is not an isolated guy, he is added to a growing list.
  22. Yeah I'll buy that he hasn't been that bad in a game, it was definitely his worst. The way he was handled was really alarming because he was flat out overpowered. It wasn't like someone came through a gap and he didn't get there quick enough. Which probably happened too but man he got walked straight back in a way that should not happen with a top flight NFL guard.
