Can something be done about this referee bias against the Panthers?
strato replied to Shocker's topic in Carolina Panthers
NFL is too cheap to make refs full time. I can't decide if that is good or bad. -
That's some fickle poo. Last year he was the man. This year, a lot of injuries it sounds like, some struggles, he sucks.
-
Let me ask, because I haven't taken the time to learn everything about this: Aren't these ex players in question involved with the team this season? TD is on Panthers Huddle, Jake does the broadcasts, etc etc. I don't know who does what but it mostly looks like is the legend types that are visible at team functions, on the payroll, and so on. Cam is trying to fry bigger fish and for whatever reason isn't involved. Without getting into the 'whys' of the Cam/Panthers discord, this doesn't look like some sort of pointed exclusion. Molehill or mountain? Leaning molehill.

I was being straight, I had never considered that he was so small they wouldn’t sneak it with him, until it happened.

We’ll find one.

I didn’t know about the sneak but this other stuff we were saying for why you don’t take him.

If you watch enough you see the less obvious ways the refs can call games to engineer outcomes. Throwing flags, or maybe more importantly, not throwing them. Picking up flags. Not blowing whistles. Blowing whistles. Play clocks even. When to start the clock. Stop it. Lag a little here, anticipate a little there, it adds up benefitting one side hurting the other. (I think the Panthers are the perfect team for the Chiefs to have a fluke loss against, as far as it goes. If we beat them maybe look closer.) -
There wasn't anything stacked or whatever about the 2023 class. One guy. That we were supposed to take but someone just had to learn a lesson.

He is better now on the short drops which is why they are being called I think - because they limit him to the 1 2 3 plant ball is out - no time to think. Thanks about as far as it has gotten. And you are right they are not really right. But at least they aren’t that really wrong crap he does when left to take a deeper drop. Some of those 10 and 15 yard throws are pretty good, I think that is his limit though. Slightly better velocity when the form is correct. But he is bumping up against that ceiling already, there isn’t much more to see I don’t think.

The first 13 probably not that bad considering. But the last 6 or 7 of them? The answer you were looking for.

He can improve on his knowing there is actually a pocket to step into and where it is and will be. He can 1000% still improve his mechanics and maybe eke out a little more zip. But there is a high chance he can't see when he is in the pocket and and would have to find launch lanes more or less to see downfield. I haven't seen anything that tells me he will solve it and when he gets against the better defenses they won't let him run around much, I am pretty sure. It is going to be screens, flairs, nearfield throws with a little downfield sprinkled in or forced in if we are in a shootout (lol, it will be a shoot down). And a ton of handoffs. (same as what we have been seeing basically)

I can't wait to try something else.

So they didn't give him an INT on the XL ball. He is trying. I see him trying to hang in there and step into his throws. I will give him that. He has gotten it out past 12 yards more often. But he isn't hitting on much downfield. And I don't think he will be able to, with any consistency. Let's remember that one of those completions was a prayer. And how many were there?
-
We have seen what he can do with the football, I think is what people are referring to as his ceiling. Whatever he does with that ability, that's maybe another thing. These weren't really stiff challenges the last couple of weeks, and we could not do enough to win that game in the second half. It was given away by the Giants in OT. Right now he is doing about like I expected which is why I picked us for 5 or 6 wins I forget. And yes I knew the defense was not going to help us much.

I liked Jared Allen for one year, haven't seen him mentioned maybe I missed it (?). Jake, yeah. Sam for sure. Can we count Moose? Signed him back.

There was talk his arm came back stronger after the procedure and the rehab. So if we need Lewis to throw a football we're in good shape.

Joe Person: Andy Dalton will 'get another crack' as starting QB
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Don't act like THAT is what would be setting us back. Bryce is what set us back; let's get out from under that. Sooner the better. SMH harder -
I mean, a half a year of throws over 15 yards, who do you think has more throws to factor in 2024? Especially considering the games played by each. I would see the number of throws for Youngs as a smaller number and maybe by a lot. It surprised me that anyone was worse lol. That's why I wanted to take a look.

No one does it, probably because it costs like crazy. But they are nearly 4 times as rich as Tepper. Haha, maybe he will decide to keep up with the Joneses.
-
I actually don't much care about comparing them but would like to see those stats. the 468 of 468. Whatever it was.
-
That was always going to be the scenario. They were not bringing in any competition, it was only help for him. All about him. That is where they put things. He had such a low bar to surpass to be able to claim improvement, so after this it will be how low is the new bar? I fear it is low.
-
That would improve things here by a ton. You want players to want to play here? Stuff like this.....
