  1. I really could not care less once I thought about it and understood that - I believed - the team was not going to compete for postseason play, this season. From the starters playing or not, the draft picks starting right away, or not, I don’t see the urgency to do anything this year besides give Young his fair evaluation. Which much effort has been made towards that. If it is between a low ceiling immediate starter, as opposed to a higher ceiling work up to being a starter type, I am fine with picking a guy to be a starter in 2025. We had FA for starters this year fwiw, also. we have all season to work this out. The thought about how long the OL takes I agree with. Judge them after 6 or 8 games. which would be in the time frame for Brooks to be ready too. Then maybe we could better see what the 2025 team could look like. We aren’t going to see that this week or game 1, for that matter. It’ll be fun seeing what it looks like for 2024 yes it will, good or bad.
  2. I don’t think you get a come back award if you were not there in the first place. He gets a still there award or a that’s more like it award.
  3. I don’t think receiving TEs, if that is what Sanders is, should be expected to come in fully formed ready to do the entire job, as a 4th rounder. Happy to hear Wallace is looking pretty good, I didn’t know anything about him before the draaft but liked what I saw and read well enough. And was thinking Morgan should know a LB when he sees one. So, good, maybe that wasn’t a fug up after all. I don’t really mind taking lower floor but higher ceiling guys that may take a year longer to be ready. Not in this situation, it is just not a one year fix.
  4. This is like square one with both the new people and the old people doing new things. It is going to take a while. edit: I see everyone beat me to it. So I agree.
  5. I was like ‘who?, then I got it. Yeah. He was at the front of the wave wasn’t he.
  6. When I saw that I said, well that was something Fitterer couldn’t trade away (because he would have). Vested Vets bypass waivers until after the trade deadline. Then, they have to pass through. Meaning I think, 4 years (?) experience gets vested status
  7. I have read two or three things and that particular procedure is elusive. I know in FF we used to go to the back of the line. We will get our pick of them all though, at least.
  8. They don’t lose their priority I don’t think. Until the standings start counting after week 3 is done. Unless I am way wrong. Which I could be;
  9. Thank you man for the conversation. I am only definitive on he is working at a big disadvantage. People have made that work, before. So I am not saying Never either just dammit mostly lol.
  10. What is that but a conscious decision to have zero QB controversy? I can’t take that seriously
  11. Morgan drafted the kid knowing all of this lol. JK One of the guys people4 whined about (Wallace) on draft night, is looking pretty good from what I hear. His 4th rounder is a board favorite. Haven’t seen Brooks, Legette wouldn’t be the first lat 1st WR to need some time, his late CB seems to be doing okay. Jury is still out but maybe it isn’t Fitterer part two.
  12. Okay. I thought he got run down by DL. So I did not see any enticing speed. I saw him get pulled down by what looked like two fingers on a DLs hand. So, I don’t know what tool this is but he won’t be throwing a lot of balls with guys having a hand on him. And the ball security issues from not being very strong are there. I have said a ton that his velocity is suspect. That is most where the ability to chunk it a long way enters in here for me. It is not the 70 yard throw only, because that is a nice option to have as well, but it is the time defenders have to close and this is split second poo at that level. Is that not a valid concern? Then we talk oh he can’t work from the pocket... I fuging hate that concession, sorry. Hate to see it made. Hope that is wrong. (it ties in with the lack of above average foot speed, just more chances to be run down. I know plays will be made too, I just don’t like it much. And all those throwaways which I am not saying it is dumb to throw it away, on principle, just so many because he bailed at pressure maybe it will be better) Whatever with all of it, I have typed a lot of words trying to figure out how to work with his abilities rather than just flat out say he can’t but it’s just not ideal even if it improves.
  13. Well, we thought Dalton looked really good ha ha. I won’t trust the results either way. I know better than to get excited and I expect an overall project season. And didn’t care if they went or not, at this point. but I am definitely interested to see what they are putting out there. I can never tell much from those twitter low angle videos and just quit looking.
  14. Think expansion team. We did not have years of bad drafts to blame for starting from scratch. If Canales is good it will go a long way. We haven’t seen how Morgan’s draft plays out. We’re sitting here not knowing anything from the last two drafts.
  15. I know people want instant help, but they have had incredible QB stability there for longer than some people here have been alive. Kind of says something for the way they do it. And after watching recently, I far prefer: a late round pick, no pressure right away to play him. If he doesn’t look good and you never play him, lile oops bad pick, it hurts but does not destroy and you have a chance to make it up. If these guys are good starters eventually you may be taking a late 1st QB averaging every 5 years with a hit and a miss. IOW, you are not doing it every year. You need a good QB you can count on for a few years to make it work. So there’s that.
  16. Well yeah and it is akin to what was just said about Cam and Fields... If you have an MVP you aren’t picking way up there. Someone has to fall. I think that is the best route though. Take the replacement and do not put them out there. You might get a guy you don’t mind giving a second contract to out of it.
  17. Yeah I am there. I look away for 5 seconds, go to the ad box and say block them, they don’t. I haver an older Apple touchbar laptop and they have not closed the FF off to that, I can swipe that bitch to the end and hit ‘skip’. Sick of looking at the begging for money. I made the mistake of contributing small amounts to some people before and it is nothing but emails/texts/calls talking about some urgent deadline and I must hurry and send the moolah. The hard sell. I won’t won’t give any of them a single dollar again because of it. It’s a constant flood.
  18. I pledged Canales a benefit of the doubt this year and will start his test year two if he makes it lol. If it doesn’t work, we may see a different approach next year. I am like, what do we have to lose? I predicted 6 wins... is 5 or 4 going to make that much of a difference? In draft position yeah but otherwise I care all that much if it is 11 losses or 15 losses. I would be happy as a fan if they ramp up their game as the season progresses and are showing us something good by season’s end. I always say, if they can be good enough to spoil someone’s playoff hopes that is some good progress.
  19. That is true about Denver. I was cringing all was it two weeks or one, but I was cringing because our side was acting way over confident to me. I saw it coming. Talk afterwards... but when you win, no words needed.
  20. I agree on the likeability. I agree on Watson for plenty of reasons... that money was ridiculous too. BUT.... Let me ask you rhetorically, no answer needed: who is your most disappointing player that you complain about or dog or whatever? Do you hate the guy personally? Or do you maybe hate, instead, that he falls short of your expectations? His play on the field. Do we get to call you a hater for criticizing? If you wanted him replaced, it would be because you hate him personally? Y’all know better than that.
  21. I hear you on the winning. I understand that there are ways to scheme this and we probably both understand that if there is no field stretching going on, it will be very difficult to make anything work. I also see ‘not the worst’, breaking new ground etc. Those aren’t positives to me. Still, it is an easy question to answer, isn’t it? =The conclusion may be loaded, or not. Seems simple. Is this like those hearings where someone asks a direct question but cannot ever get a simple answer? It is a pretty direct question. My answer is: I don’t see a single physical trait that is above average by NFL standards. Which IMO when speculating about NFL success, you want to have something above average to hang your hat on. I guess it is still the processor, but he has to operate around historically advanced physical specimens. To not acknowledge the .. physics(?) of it seems to be at least a little intentionally unobservant. That’s all.
  22. Looked like his head was swimming. To me. They know he struggled and he seems to be getting special attention let’s hope they give him help in the games - I think he is gonna get speed rushed and lose the down more than we want.
  23. Totally is. Don’t care what college it is. There are minuscule numbers of guys who don’t struggle to step it up a level, at least some. Look at them physically in college and then after a season or two in the NFL, little bit of a difference. That’s what you’ll face in the NFL, it’s not just that DT or the CB or LB or RB or WR, it’s all 11 of them over there on Sundays.
