The Appaloosa model was just buying up a bunch of bank debt just before the 2008 bail out. He made something like 7 billion off that alone. I don’t think the league is bailing us out of this mess.

That’s probably Tepper’s main take away from the circumstance…that he needs to override the coaches and scouts more often. I’m also certain it was very clear who he wanted before they all voted.

Tepper is going to F this up even more and decide everyone needs to go and start auctioning off disgruntled defensive assets; Brown, Horne, Burns, Woods, etc. Those trades will also go down in history as bad trades as well.

Nope. It will be worse bc we’ll be giving up the #1 pick from the best draft of our lifetime. SF never drafts high anyway.

I don’t think the fanbase understands the embarrassment that will be draft night 2024.

It’s not good but can be serviceable in the power run game and from the slot. The main problem is that Bryce just sucks; everything is late, he can’t handle the pressure, there’s not enough zip on his balls to make tight window throws, his footwork is making it difficult to protect him, there’s no positives. He’s not giving us a chance.

I’m still seeing tons of people defending his play. All the Panthers YouTube guys are still totally on board .

We may have the worst skill position group but I don’t believe the line is the worst. Going off PFF’s pass blocking efficiency metrics they have the Jets, Giants, and Titans worse. I think Bryce just tends to struggle with normal NFL pressure, no one gets clean pockets in the league, 84% of pockets are considered “muddied” league wide.

We don’t even know if those test numbers were real, maybe they’re fake like his height, weight, processing ability, etc.

Tell him to sell the team and spend all his time in New Jersey.

I’m starting to hear rumors Tepper is spending much more time home in Jersey and may be selling. Don’t give up hope yet.

It’s both Bryce and the Unit. The Unit isn’t good but probably still wins 7 games with Andy and Frank, the team still has the bones of last years team and defends the pass better. I think if we were winning some games and this defense was motivated they’re top 10. Bryce is just so bad that we’re a 1 win team and not a 7 win team.

It wasn’t being coached. Frank thought fixing his footwork would be too much on his plate while he learned the offense.

Free Agents won’t come here either.

I’ve watched enough football to know that this won’t ever work. There was a reason we’ve never seen a 5’8 170 pound QB. He traded away all our offensive talent for this. No one should support this team until Tepper sells or he makes it very clear he’s stepping away from all football decisions. Tepper’s draft decision was a nuclear bomb on mint street, This is now one of the worst teams in football history.

Worst part is that we don’t have a 1st round pick and are down to $30m in effective cap space to spend in ‘24, less than last year, so there’s no real path to even improve this team until ‘25, and we don’t have a 2nd round pick that year either. I honestly totally get why fans are leaving the base.

This is the first negative thing Josh has said about Bryce, he’s been blaming everyone else for months. If Josh Norris is defending a player bet your ass that player sucks. That’s his whole schtick to defend those who are indefensible. He does the same thing for Justin Fields.

No one should remain hopeful. Bryce isn’t improving. We have no round 1 pick. We have a bunch of horrible contracts on our books. We’re off to the worst start in recent NFL history. No free agent will want to come here. No decent coach will want to come here. Doomsday scenario. David Tepper is an arsonist.

He says in this clip, “everyone in the building votes, in this case it was unanimous, I chose to veto” A. This is not how the best teams conduct business. They don’t conduct an election of the player. They have 1 maybe 2 football guys who make the decision(Howie Roseman, John Lynch, Tomlin, Vrabel, etc). B. He has veto power even if they all agree!? So every coach and scout could agree and he could say no? That’s a horrible set up C. He was front and center during the QB search. You don’t think he made it very clear who he liked best? There have been subsequent interviews where he spoke about how Bryce took command of the dinner table and he knew that’s who he wanted as his QB. Fitterer, Morgan, these guys are lackeys. Paid by Tepper. Doing what they know or think Tepper wants.

There’s maybe 1 extremely hands on owner in the top 10, Jim Irsay, the rest are all hands off. Kraft gave up all football decisions to Belicheck, Biscotti has no say at all, Jody Allen is completely hands off.

It’s crazy that we’re having this conversation. Josh Allen is the highest graded QB on PFF every year, he’ll go down as a top 10 QB of all time. Cam was good and really entertaining, but he could not take over games and dominate from the pocket consistently like Allen.

CMC was genuinely loved by the Lake Norman community where he lived, a lot of people up here rooting for the 49ers bc of him. He could win MVP this year. Tepper is legitimately an arsonist.

By admitting it they will be resigned to the truth that next year is a lost year as well, and the multi-year rebuild doesn’t even begin for another 2 years. My only hope now is that things get so bad Tepper sells, at very least steps away from operations.

It will get worse before it gets better. At one point we had $100 million in cap for 2024, not we have $50 bc of these multi year deals Fitt gave out last off-season. This is also now a situation where the organization will need to convince potential free agents and coaches that Tepper has changed to get them to come here. Frank, Deuce, and Josh are obviously upset leaking some stufff to the media, talking with other coaches. You may not like them but they are leaders around the league within the Christian circles. It’s not good that we canned these guys halfway through their first season, they know everybody. The embarrassment of draft night, giving away a generational #1 talent to Chicago may be too much for me. Tepper has truly destroyed the franchise.
