Yeah, maybe but the chance just seems so very minuscule from my perspective. I think once it was realized that Corral just wasn't anywhere close to pro-ready that his chances of ever starting here were completely thrown out the window.

Carry on sensitive Sally. I'm having no problem discussing football with you. I don't think anyone is getting upset other than you.
-
I think he is. At least I hope so.

I think that Rhule has obviously made decisions based on the short term with regards to this season. That's evident in the QB bullshit among other things. So he and the line coaches obviously feel like for both the short and long term that this is the best decision. I also tend to agree with them, which I don't do often.
-
Yes, that's exactly what's happening. Icky is the starting LT and BC is for all intents and purposes now the starting LG, though still unofficially. Yet, there's plenty of people who are advocating that this is the wrong approach and that their roles should be switched this year.
-
I'm not sure why you think I'm being defensive? I just think that it's dumb to play them out of position for a year and hamper their progress at their natural positions.
-
I'm not the one betting. I was just making an observation of betting argument that they were making.
-
Yeah, but I think that was already the case. Everything for Rhule hinges on Baker's play this season. If he's good enough to save Rhule then he's gonna play more than this year and if not, well the new staff was going to draft someone because they're not going to role with a 3rd rounder that they're not familiar with. Corral was never going to start here from day one.
-
I agree with this, but Rippadon wasn't confident enough in that outcome to bet unless he upped the win total to 10 wins. Hence me saying that "Looks like you're not as confident that they're going to suck as you pretend to be."
-
Gross played RT as a rookie because we had a 9 year vet in Steussie at LT that year. Chinn wasn't a LB in the traditional sense and should still be playing that role IMO, but our coaches are fuging idiots. You can't just say that "plenty of LT's didn't play LT as rookies" without the context of the individual situations. In our situation its fuging stupid to not play him at LT.

It's dumb. Swapping Icky and BC for one season is doing nothing but hampering their progression at the positions that they're eventually going to be playing. It's asinine. Play Icky at LT and BC at LG and let them gel and grow if that's the positions that they want them to be long term.

What career as a starter?
-
Yeah I mean he's here for another three years minimum after this one even under a potentially new coaching staff unless they decide to cut him.
-
Corral should have been getting snaps ahead of PJ but he was never going to get QB 2 reps so long as both Baker and Sam were on the team. To say otherwise is living in fantasy land and that's even without the QB comp. Had Baker been named QB1 out the gate Sam was still QB two while he remained on the team. Corral was always going to unfortunately play with scrubs at times in preseason. Injuries just fuging happen sometimes, my god.
-
Yeah he'll go on season ending IR. Even if they thought he'd be able to make it back for the last couple of games there's literally no point at all to do so. Cam was our starter, Corral was never going to start regardless baring a meteor strike taking out the rest of the QB room.
-
IR players don't count against the 53
-
Better yes...I'm clearly not arguing otherwise.
-
Well maybe I got mixed up in the replies but I thought you were bitching because Rhule was playing Corral behind a garbage line and that's the reason he got hurt and therefore he shouldn't have done so. If that wasn't the case then I apologize.
-
That Corral got injured and that sucks but he was going to play behind depth oline in the preseason no matter what and even if he was QB1 he's going to take hits and be exposed to potential injury. This "it's Rhule's fault because he didn't wrap him in bubble wrap and have all world lineman in front of him every play" is just stupid bullshit.
-
It's definitely the Olines fault on a basic level because they let the pressure through that resulted in injury, but ultimately this poo just happens in football. It doesn't matter if he was behind the full regiment of starters and gets sacked sacked in a real game, that poo just happens. I don't know why y'all are so fuging adamant about wanting to make it someone's fault over another besides the fact that it's just y'all's personal agenda. Chris Simms had his spleen ruptured by Jenkins while playing against the Panthers. Was that his coaches fault too?
-
You weren't the only one. I make a sarcastic post with the same joke as well a few weeks back.
-
Don't forget Brown who just got knocked on his fat ass and ran over on the play at RG.
-
He could be the worst starting QB in the last decade and still be head and shoulders above PJ.
