  1. Man, I sure am glad you made this thread so we could discuss this draft pick.
  2. I mean, it was a need after all. Didn't wanna fight that blistering LS market in UDFA.
  3. It's really only a concern with our zone blocking scheme. He's not really going to excel with that type of lateral movement if he doesn't get into better shape.
  4. yeah mostly and that he tested extremely bad athletically. It's whether you attribute that to him just being fat and out of shape or that he's just that unathletic naturally. I think the production generally speaks for itself though in this case. I like the pick. Edit: to your point though, sometimes it is pretty hard to get someone to eat right. There's been tons of examples of players falling out of the NFL because of conditioning and eating habits.
  5. Yeah, I'm not going to dig through a million old threads to find it but I said the same thing a few times. The defense that he was running wasn't really the type of defense that he had run, at least consistently, anywhere. It was obvious he was adjusting schematically because of our personnel deficiencies, which honestly speaks highly of his coaching ability.
  6. This kid is ridiculously fast also. This is going to be an absolute steal and I legit dislike S.Carolina
  7. I can wait to see him tottering around with his jersey stuck up under those luscious man tits ala a previous Panthers DT.
  8. My understanding is that he understands that he performed poorly and was out of shape at the senior bowl and has made strides to correct that.
  9. It's frustrating because I felt like it was fairly obvious why we were playing the way we were. Like they would have a couple positive plays and even most of one game (against a garbage team and offense) playing aggressive with the blitz and isolation outside but by a VAST margin when we did it became glaringly obvious why we didn't more often.
  10. Yeah, he's more than likely a ST and developmental player but I like the trend that he represents along with Horn as far as the type of corners that we're targeting.
  11. I think it's fairly obvious that the current regime is tired of playing soft off-the-ball zone coverage. It was very obviously a problem for us last year and really showed up on third down and our inability to just get off the fuging field. We had to play this type of scheme because of our talent and physical deficiencies at corner. We have a very solid pass rush but with our previous coverage scheme this pass rush was effectively neutered. We simply lacked the ability to hold coverage for long enough for our pass rush to get home. Especially on 3rd and short situations (and seemingly any third down). This forced us into consistently having to drop extra men into coverage and relying on a 3 or 4 man rush. While we didn't necessarily give up a ton of game breaking plays, we just couldn't stop the other team from methodically driving down the field on us. Over and over and over. The two corners that we've drafted this draft have a completely different skill set. They are press corners with athleticism and length. This is going to drastically change our coverage scheme both stylistically and hopefully with results.
  12. I appreciate Roy and how he played last year but he's being incredibly overvalued by quite a few people here. But this isn't exactly the player you should be comparing him to.
  13. This guy has more upside than any DT on our roster outside of Brown by a significant margin.
  14. Yeah I'm fairly sure it was an ankle injury or something similar.
  15. Well, I can tell you that someone doesn't understand basic math, but it's probably not who you're thinking it is.......
  16. Their closed source business model is pretty much the exact reason that I've always refused to buy any of their products. I've had to use plenty for work situations but I won't ever own one myself. I've been building gaming rigs for 25 years.
  17. I agree. There's just not really a ton to look at wrt his receiving. I was mostly just commenting that if they choose to develop it instead of just relegating him to blocking schematically that he could be a legit weapon.
  18. If this kid can develop as a pass catcher to some degree he may end up being extremely good.
