Grier thoughts on Darnold (conversation from other thread)
Floppin replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah. I luckily didn't have to play against either of them. I was at Watauga 98-02. -
Grier thoughts on Darnold (conversation from other thread)

I remember going and watching Bumgardner play once. That kid was insane. He'd strike out the side and then go yard when it was his turn to bat. -
Hornets make the post season....what lies ahead
Floppin replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Charlotte Hornets
At this point, if we make it to the second game I'll be incredibly surprised. Ecstatic but incredibly surprised. -
I'll pass.

I think people are missing that fact that these are PSL owners selling their seats through a second hand exchange. These aren't GA or "face value" ticket prices. Buying inaugural game tickets second hand for games in Vegas of all places is going to be ridiculous as expected.

Costco this morning. All gas, no lines.

It was absolutely.

Yeah I was stuck in Denver and had a return flight for Saturday to Wilmington where my car was in long term parking. All flights through Charlotte were cancelled and American couldn't get me anywhere close. The best they could do was Myrtle the following Monday. I ended up buying a new ticket with Frontier to Atlanta and paid a friend to drive up from Miami and pick me and drive me to my car in Wilmington. (He was planning a trip up anyhow but he came a week early to help me). I made it to Charlotte by 8am game day morning.

Paid $1600 total for two tickets in the 200s on the 45 yard line for the NFC championship game against the Cardinals during the Super Bowl run.

Well they did practice it, just maybe not as much as you would have in other years. You have to remember that this was a team without any continuity. It was a new coaching staff and a new scheme in a truncated year. They were having to literally install the offense on the fly throughout the year that was altered by a pandemic. I'm fairly certain that how things were prioritized last year would have been vastly different with a real offseason or even in year two of a regime.
-
You don't think that the circumstances that Covid created altered how teams prepared throughout the year? This was literally a season like any other. It's an absolute fact that teams had altered routines. There's no getting around that.
-
I'm going to need you to elaborate. I literally said that Teddy is likely telling the truth.
-
I can believe what he's saying with regards to how much time they devoted to two-minute and/or redzone offense on daily or weekly basis. What Bridgewater fails to account for, and what many people seem to be missing, is that last year was a unique circumstance across the board for every team in the NFL. I'm fairly certain that with reduced practice times, altered environments, and virtually no off-season that every coach in the NFL had to adjust their desired routines. Perhaps Rhule and crew decided that this amount of time was what they were allotting to these specific focuses. Who knows? What this is though, is an excuse. Teddy is saying these things, true or not, in an effort to deflect blame from his own shortcomings in these areas because he's aware that they were areas that he performed the worst in. He's using a unique set of circumstances and presenting them as "normal" and faulty in an effort to put the blame on the coaching staff.

seems like there's a lot of optimism.....
Floppin replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm optimistic about the team direction in general. I'm noncommittal on the QB situation; Sam seems like a good kid but I have no idea if he's actually going to turn his career around here. I want to say that I have faith in our coaches to help Sam do so, but they haven't been here long enough or had enough success at this level for me to bet in one way or the other with any level of certainty. I think our season lies in the improvement of four areas: QB, O-line, Linebackers and Defensive backs. If we even slightly improve in any one of them we should be better than last year so long as we don't regress anywhere else. If we greatly improve in these areas I think we can compete with anyone. So, like I said, I'm optimistic but I always try to be in the offseason even when I know we're going to suck deep down (which I don't believe to be the case this year). -
People need to respect each other on this board.

You can't see the tinderbox until you have a certain number of posts. It's a sub-forum on this forum for political, religious, racial, etc discussion. -
Glen, Bro. There's a multi-quote button. I suggest reading the entire thread and clicking on the ones you might possibly want to reply to as you go through. This spamming the thread with replies to days old posts isn't the move.

New to the internet? -
Whatever you say idiot. I'm a fan of many players outside of the Panthers. One thing I'm not going to do though is fuging Stan for Bridgewater. Anybody that's putting as much effort into defending Bridgewater's honor as you are has to either be related to him or autistic. He's a decidedly mediocre QB. He's not as bad as many want to make him out to be but he's a bottom tier starter or solid backup QB. Moving on from Bridgewater is a good decision by the Panthers. Whether or not Darnold was the right decision to make as the next move has yet to be seen.

Yeah and just like TRD was Matt Moore's cousin or whatever, this guy is probably related to Teddy.

BBQ is the last thing they bring out.

It's like TRD reborn but as a Teddy fan.
