  1. Yeah. And I wasn't trying to say that regular people aren't donating they're time and resources. They are, all over. I am and many others. I was born at watauga medical center and raised on Boone. This is very personal to me also. But I have seen tons of government resources in the area. It takes a collective effort and I think any political commentary is unproductive
  2. I heard from one of my firefighter buddies out of Newland that they found over 50 bodies in Avery county yesterday
  3. Finally was able to get in touch with two of my guys from MTN City. One of their houses was washed away. Their wife and child were rescued from the blue truck you can barely see. The house washed away 30 minutes later.
  4. That's not to say that there aren't tons of people donating their own time and efforts. My excavators and arborists are running full steam out in the Bethel area and are one of the only crews in the area that they're in
  5. The vast majority of lineman and private excavation, recovery and relief contractors are reimbursed by FEMA if not already established with blank check funding
  6. I'll counter that with saying almost everything I'm seeing in nw NC is all government and FEMA authorized contractors. National Guard evacuated Lees McRae with transport helicopter
  7. I'm trying to see if I have a picture that would give you a good perspective. I'll take one tomorrow when I'm up there because I can't find one. But normally you wouldn't even be able to see the river from those picture locations. That building is actually on small two-tiered hill, and a large field in front. The original river bed is like 400 yards away minimum and recessed about 15 feet down into the bed itself. That high water mark is at least 40 feet if not more, above the normal river level.
  8. I view from higher. The RV used to be in front of that Solar Panel array that you can see in front of the right side of the roof line. The New River river bed is past the last line of trees. Normally this is almost a 1/4 mile from the river and at least 40 feet above the water line.
  9. Been dealing with all sorts of craziness. I'm from Boone and still work in the area on a daily basis. My dad and his wife and my sister and her husband all live up there as well as half of my employees. One of my employees was living in an RV that was parked to the left of this tree. He escaped on a 4-wheeler with a pack of cigarettes, bottle of liquor (lol) and a change of clothes. The RV would basically be straight ahead from this view, we found it and that truck contrainer in the distance lodged up against the 421/Bamboo bridge a mile down river. one of my current projects. First pictures are for perspective.
  10. If we beat anyone with Bryce at QB I'll be extremely surprised. If we let Dalton play we MIGHT beat the Giants
  11. Still Shinn for me. But I fixking hate Tepper also.
  12. You don't know who Xavier Woods is?
  13. What's with these Detroit Lions ass looking hats
  14. Just falling down after catching the ball for no reason. fuging a
  15. Well, considering our starter, any speculation of any scrub taking the job isn't that outlandish.
  16. Why did I even turn this game on LMAO
  17. Lord have mercy. Good times.
  18. I used to check this place religiously. Now I maybe swing through like once a month. I'm sure I'll be back refreshing during training camp and the regular season. Between the team and the general discourse around here sucking balls, I'm very apathetic towards this place when I used to love it.
