This is a put up or shut up year for Shula. For all the excuses we can make for Cam having had no line or weapons, you can make the same for Shula. This year the front office has given him some new pieces in Funchess, CAP, and Williams. They have also upgraded the offensive line and given him Ginn back. Cam is healthy as is Stewart. There are no excuses (outside of an injury to our QB) for Shula if he fails to deliver good offensive production in the form of touchdowns and increased time of possession.

Good move by the panthers here. Go ahead and set Cam's value at something the team is comfortable with and something that Cam sees value in. Then put it all behind you as you get ready for Training Camp while two of your more formidable opponents this year (Seattle and Indy) have to sit through a couple more months of distracting negotiations and more than likely have to overshoot the number you just gave out.

This is just a fact that many just don't comprehend. Defense puts you in the position to win championships. Look at the last couple Super Bowl champs. Unless you have an ungodly talent at QB like Brady and Rodgers who can make any receiver and oline look good, you need the super strong defense to win it all (see ravens, Seahawks, and giants). I'm all for getting Cam help but not if that means picking a tier two receiver just because that's what the masses want.
