His redemption is just one move away. That redemption is canning Rhule on black Monday and bringing in an adviser to help Fitterer find his next head coach. Everything he’s done to this point will be forgiven by me, if he realizes his mistake and cuts the cord.

Is this catastrophic? This sounds catastrophic.
bigdog10 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think by catastrophic, Teppers looking for locker room dysfunction. Unfortunately for us, he’s not going to get that because most of the dudes in that locker room are either A. Rhules college kids who wouldn’t get a contract on another team. B. Just another guy type dudes who wouldn’t get near the check they got to play here. C. Young guys looking to put good stuff on tape for their next team. -
I’m not sure why Culley is on the hot seat. They are playing competitive football with a rookie under center and a severe lack of talent around him. Not to mention he’s had to deal with the Watson stuff his entire tenure. I actually think he’s done a pretty decent job all things considering.

This is as boring a panthers game I can remember.

Surprised the Saints are laying down. They aren’t even trying. They are still in the wild card hunt.

1996 first playoff win. Madden calling the game.

That’s the defense that built our identity. We are so far removed from the salt and pepper days and Sam mills it isn’t even funny. -
We run a wr pass play in which Robby throws it to DJ Moore, which in turn nearly results in Moore getting injured.

As a hedge fund billionaire, Tepper should completely understand the sunk cost fallacy and probably be one of the top ten people on the planet who has experienced it at such a large magnitude and learned from it in his business doings. If he doesn’t see it here and make the move at the end of the year, it brings a ton more questions to the table as to what type of owner we are going to have for the next 20 years. mistakes happen. Compounding those mistakes is nothing more than ignorance and pride.

You didn’t read my last paragraph. Also, if you think we are even remotely close to contending next year, I’ve got some ocean front property in Arizona with your name on it. We are one of the worst teams in football right now. The only team I’d feel comfortable betting on us to beat would be the Jags and that would be a tight game.

Well, the alternative is we put the new head coach in an absolutely no win situation with the worst qb situation since the pre baker browns, 1 draft pick in the top 100, the highest paid running back in the nfl who can’t stay healthy, and a defensive unit which may only fit this bizarre college scheme that snow is running. That next head coach is doomed to fail from the get go. I’d rather the next head coach be able to walk into a more stable situation with a plethora of draft picks, the cmc contract becoming more workable, and out from under the Darnold mistake.

Honestly, I’m warming up to the fact that he is going to be here next year. We’re clearly not going to win many games next year regardless and we don’t have enough cap space or draft capital to fix anything this off-season, so we may as well have him leading the charge and taking the fall for the poo show he’s created. I honestly hope he bails mid year like Petrino did just to show the rest of the league and its fans what type of guy he is. it sucks that we will have to sit through another crappy year of football, but at least we know the new head coach will be walking into a top five pick, in a better qb class draft. With all that said, Tepper needs to strip him of roster control at seasons end to make certain he doesn’t mortgage our future.

I’m not sure why Dennis Allen doesn’t get more head coaching love. He’s been great as a defensive coordinator in New Orleans.

NFL Team Tiers by EPA/play over the last 5 weeks

Pull the plug Tepper. The writing is clearly on the wall. This isn’t working. You made a rookie owner mistake, poo happens. We were all fooled by the analytics up and comer. We thought we had a brilliant young mind to build a championship caliber team. What we got was a great salesman, who doesn’t know enough about his product to see It through. Even in year one there were red flags. Now those red flags are screeching sirens. This guy doesn’t have it. He’s in over his head and he belongs in college. Send him back there and get someone in here who has led men before. It doesn’t have to be a splashy hire, just get a football guy in here who is willing to rely on coordinators with some experience as well. -
I’m curious as to what is working? -the passing game clearly isn’t -the running game isn’t -the oline is a bottom three unit -the defense has given up over 29 points per game in the ten losses -the trades have all been massive failures -the stands are packed with opposing fans -we can’t keep our star running back healthy -were still calling timeouts on offense -standout players from last year are regressing (ie brown and chinn) -we are largely ignored on the national stage (and for good reason) I’m honestly not sure I can look at one thing about this franchise right now and say, “yep, Rhule and Fitterer nailed that and got it right” maybe the Zane Gonzalez addition ???
-
The fact that Chinn, Brown, and other defensive players have regressed this year speaks more to the coaching than their ability. I think Brown was over drafted but I’m not ready to label him a bust yet. The success Reddick and Burns have had on the edge is not fully possible without adequate DT play beside them.

I'm willing to give Sam one more year if the team fixes the O-line
bigdog10 replied to Gipetto's topic in Carolina Panthers
You gave an opposing opinion and people are calling you an idiot over it. The only debate here is whether you’ve watched any games this year or are just trolling looking to stir things up. -
Guys, our talent on the line is bad, but our scheme is magnifying this by a ton.

How the hell you going to retain Rhule in 2022?
bigdog10 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has to cut his losses. This team is in free fall with no answers. -
This is mind numbingly boring football

Awful by Henderson.

I don’t blame the OP’s dad for selling the PSL’s. They are likely to be obsolete in a few years when Tepper starts the new stadium talk. With that said, Tepper isn’t losing fans. This is just what happens when you have a lame duck coach with no QB. There’s no interest because the product is bad. Tepper sees that and will likely make changes this off-season, by at least stripping Rhule of his roster control. That likely won’t be enough and Rhule will be fired next year but we will all be back and excited about the direction of the team under the new head coach. this is no different than 2010 or 2019.
-
If Tampa comes in here and puts a beat down on us, which they probably will, I’d be shocked if he’s not fired next Monday.
-
What you’re seeing with Nagy is exactly what we are gonna sit through next year if we keep Rhule. Lame duck coach competitive defense. Unstable qb situation.
