New England would be his best bet to succeed. He could backup Cam and if Cam struggles, he could jump into the starting role.

We’re sitting at 8, Lance, Wilson, Lawrence and Fields have all been taken. Sewell, Pitts and Chase are also gone. Mac Jones is still on the board. Washington and New England are both calling to get in front of Denver. All of a sudden our 8th pick holds a ton of value. We make the deal with New England. They give us 15 and 46 this year for number 8. 15, 39 , 46 turns out to be Parsons, Eichenberg, and Trask we then Trade Teddy to WFT for a 2022 4th post draft. That Darnold trade doesn’t looks so bad in this scenario. We essentially traded a 6th for a starter to take the reigns and either run with it or give us time to groom trask.
-
Exactly. We couldn’t have gotten to six for this price.

I don’t hate this move really. I get people are disappointed because it is Sam Darnold but the potential is there for him to make a turn around. The fact that we get to surround him with Moore, CMC and Joe Brady gives me some hope. if we add slater, Sewell, chase or Pitts, Darnold may not have to do a whole lot but get the ball out quick to his playmakers.

We are absolutely trading back now into the teens unless Sewell falls.

2nd rounder next year is kind of irrelevant. Fitterer will just trade back next year and pick that second back up.

What was the boldest move this franchise has made?

A few that haven’t been mentioned on the bad side -Jakes extension after the Arizona debacle -Hiring George Seifert -The big splash free agency year with Ken Lucas and Mike Wahle -
We need to go get Minshew right now. He’s an instant upgrade over Teddy and is not at all afraid of throwing down the field. He will turn the ball over but I’d much rather see that then check down Teddy.

With six of those wins coming in the first eight games of his ownership. We’ve won a total of 11 games since mid 2018. My guess is this is the first time in teppers life he’s had to deal with a lengthy string of losses with no real clear cut formula to end them.

One of the Core Pieces that should be untouchable

Defensive future is really bright. Get the qb here and our rebuild took way less time than I ever imagined it would. -
Damn Onions.

This thread reads very similar to the thread we had on here about Justin Herbert last year. So many posters complaining about his arm strength and mobility, yet he comes out and sets all kind of rookie QB records. Not necessarily comparing Jones and Herbert, it’s just funny seeing the huddle experts having a conniption over the thought process of the panthers drafting a more conventional pocket passer.
-
You didn’t watch him down the stretch. He had a four to five week run where he was playing as good as anyone in the league. All that said, he’s not my first choice at qb

Teddy Bridgewater likely on the outs in Carolina

Your posts are the bright spot of the off-season for a lot of us long timers. Really appreciate what you bring here. -
Hopefully we have our eyes on some quality linebackers, corners and o linemen. Would love to pick up a starting quality MLB in free agency.

PFT: Seahawks want three #1 as starting point for Wilson trade.
bigdog10 replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
In a heartbeat. We’re gonna trade this years and nexts for the fourth best qb in this draft. May as well throw in that next one for a top three qb in the league. I then draft oline in rounds two and three of this draft and we go into the playoffs this year and win a lombardi in 2022. Give me five consecutive winning seasons and I’d absolutely give up those three picks. -
La Canfora on Tepper's desire for Watson/franchise QB
bigdog10 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
It makes sense why he would want a star qb. We are a completely irrelevant franchise without one. Hell, we were mostly an irrelevant franchise when we had an MVP playing qb for us. The entire organization needs a facelift and it starts with putting a winning product on the field. -
The sport is gradually making its way towards the NBA and that should terrify the owners.
-
Harmful. In that I mean it set the precedent that super teams are becoming a thing and championships can be bought. The league took an enormous step towards the NBA this year and its hard for me to stomach the thought of that.

We reek of desperation right now. Desperation most often times results in poor decision making coupled with even worse decisions trying to mask the poor ones that were previously made (ie hanging on to Ron and Marty to long, signing TB, extending Shaq and Not Bradberry). Our owner, as a hedge fund manager, should know this.

David Newton questions McCaffrey's support of Bridgewater

We as fans deserve so much better than David Newton. -
Stafford didn’t want to come to the Panthers
bigdog10 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, if you’re asking me if I’d trade two mid twenties picks for Jalen Ramsey, that is an absolute yes. I’d also trade two mid twenties picks for Matthew Stafford. I like the way they are operating. It’s definitely a paradigm shift on first round picks and will be really interesting to see the success that comes of it or the debilitating future failure that results from it.
