Ranking the NFC South LBs: Where does Panthers' Shaq Thompson fit in?
bigdog10 replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m not sure he’s the best linebacker on our team. -
REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton
bigdog10 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He should have been moved to LT two years ago. He would have likely excelled and then paying him big money would’ve been a no brainer. This franchise just can’t help getting in its own way. -
Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round Two, Game 5, 6*, 7* - Win or Done.

Garbage call. Ridiculous save on the other end and then point just owning Ned. Same story. Different day. -

Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round One, Game 6

Just completely outplaying them right now. Have to keep this intensity up and we win this 4-3 in this period. -
Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round One, Game 5

Hell yeah. -
I think we’re a five win team. I think a part of our “success” last year of being in one score games was due to the unpredictability of Rhule, Snow and Brady. Teams now have our tendencies on tape and this defense is still incredibly weak at the linebacker position and the secondary is still an unknown. Offensively the line should scare everybody and couple that with Darnold, who has been abysmal as a pro, we could have problems. we go over 7.5 wins only with a healthy CMC, Moore and a much improved Darnold who limits turnovers and makes plays in the red zone. i see wins against the Jets, Houston, Eagles, Falcons and Patriots.

Official NFL Schedule Day Leaks and such and stuff

Looks like a home opener against the jets. -
Every year we do this thing where we worry about making someone a top paid position player and then in two years we look foolish as the cap continues to balloon. You pay good players. We should have done it with Bradberry and we had better do it with Moton.

I think people are severely underrating New Orleans. Drew was holding that team back the last few years. I don’t expect much of a dip from them at all if they are healthy.

It’s just nice to see patience as opposed to panic. It seemed very calculated and we were intent on not reaching, something hurney has a bad tendency to do. I have no idea if any of these guys will be any good though.

I’m expecting an Okudah like year. Beat a lot, considered a bust, but shows flashes.

Round 2 - Carolina Panthers select LSU WR Terrace Marshall
bigdog10 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we can hit on two linemen in the third, this offense has some potential. -
I want one of these centers. That position needs addressing and the either the Wisconsin or the Oklahoma kid will do.

I’m on board with it. I have more faith that Brady can succeed with less than I do that snow can succeed with less. I’d rather give snow the talent and let Brady scheme against our offensive weaknesses as opposed to the other way around.

Matt Rhule on Jaycee Horn - Why he is the best fit
bigdog10 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Huddlers also said the Armanti Edwards, Vernon Butler, and three corners in a row were stupid. -
We had better been trying to trade up with Miami. I would have flipped them my third to get Sewell. It just makes no sense not to make that deal. Miami could have still gotten waddle at 8 while picking up our third and we get our franchise LT

Analytics that will shape Draft Strategy or my name isn't MHS831
bigdog10 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I want Sewell but he’s not going to be there. My second priority is trading down with NE for their first next year and an additional pick. I’d take Surtain as my third choice. -
This trade is too perfect for the panthers for it to ever come true. this would give us so much ammo. Listening to the press conference today it sounds like there are 16 guys we have our eyes on in the first round. If we drop to 19 and pick up these additional picks, we would have the ammo to move back up into the top 16 to get one of our guys while also walking out with what could potentially be a top ten pick next year. Washington will be a meddling football team next year with whoever they trot out next year. We give Darnold a shot this year and if it doesn’t work we likely have two top ten picks next year to move up and get our QB1 If Darnold balls out we go into next year with two first rounders that we can use to fill holes or potentially swing one of those firsts for a stud player.

Joe Person on Panthers plans for #8 pick
bigdog10 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think many of you are completely underrating the impact a shut down corner would have on this young defense. Drafting one of these guys gives so much more flexibility as to what Snow will be asking Chinn to do. Chinn becomes an all pro safety/lb with a shutdown corner opposite of him. there are guys I’d rather have but I absolutely won’t be upset if one of these guys is the pick. -
I think it’s likely a 9-8 year this year and then next year is when we take the leap. CMC and a little older defense should bump us up a bit in win total but not dramatically unless Sam is a difference maker and not a game manager.

Assuming we still can’t get Fields at 8: Sewell Surtain Pitts Chase Slater

Breer talks about Gase (and Tannehill; oh, and Darnold)
bigdog10 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I’m talking about an extension. We better know for sure after these 34 games whether he can play before giving him a 4-5 year bank buster deal. -

This is precisely it. He’s 23 years old, so it wouldn’t hurt to baby him for a half a year and not put too much on his shoulders. with that said, his price tag is going to get awfully steep in a short period of time. We’re going to need to know at years end whether he is worth staking the future of the franchise on.
